Lovely place for gluten free fish and chips, the batter was amazing and crisp, and piping hot. Superb fish and GF bread, washed down with a GF beer. Felt like a real treat.

My Family and I had a wonderful Fish & Chips from Quayside a week ago. 2 large haddock and chips and a fish cake and chips, fed 2 adults, 3 picky kids and 1 very persistent seagull. Excellent chippy, great staff, Very affordable. Wonderful Location.

Delicious!! Easily up there with the best I've ever had, the Irish curry sauce was brilliant too. Reasonable price and generous portion sizes. Would 100% return here!

Another wonderful visit! It isn't cheap (north of £20 for large cod and chips) but you get what you pay for - I got halloumi and chips and nearly didn't finish it. But the highlight is an extensive Gluten Free menu, perfect for the coeliacs in your life. Quincy Quacksworth also enjoyed the generous diet coke serving.

We stopped here for a spot of lunch whilst on a day out. The food and service are excellent. The price seemed a little high but due to the quality of the food it wasn't a big issue. I would highly recommend a visit if you are in the area and looking for good quality fish and chips, the menu is quite extensive if you are looking for something else.

Stopped here today around 2ish for a bite to eat. The partner declared best fish and chips he’s had in a long time and we have tried many. I had the scampi and chips which was delicious. Good portion sizes not swamped with chips. Tartare sauce was amazing. Service great. Restaurant decor relaxing and toilets spotless. Brilliant place would highly recommend for

We dine at the Quayside a couple of times every year (For over 5 years) and the quality of the food food has always been consistently high. This has to be one of the best places to enjoy delicious Fish and Chips in Whitby. The food, see pics, is some of the best fish you will have, with a variety of portion sizes from small to jumbo. I also like the idea of a good range of sides, so you can add anything from peas and gravy to Scampi or Pineapple. The batter is crispy and not too thick. The service is friendly and professional. They understand allergies/food intolerances and have a nice clear guide to help. The interior has a 'designed' feel, with William Morris type wallpaper and although there are a number of tables it doesn't feel cramped. There is an upstairs, but they don't tend to use this for the dining now and its looks like its set up for a bar. This is a real shame as the booth seating upstairs has tall windows overlooking the harbour. I would recommend you book as its always busy.

Yelp
Stopped in Whitby last week and had a very tight schedule. They got us a table right away and sent a waitress over to take our order, giving us priority for food. The fish and chips were excellent! probably the best we have had. The cod was fresh, a generously sized portion, and the batter was crispy and tasty. the chips were also very good. This was a really fabulous experience - not one single thing could have been done bette - and I highly recommend them.

Yelp
Pros + It's a must-try thing to get fish n chips in Whitby, and you can take it down to the pier for the full experience + The fish is VERY fresh from Iceland Cons - It's WAY too greasy. It's nearly dripping oil and you feel dirty afterwards - Tarter sauce is an extra 25p per packet - Cash only (for takeaway) I'm glad I went and tried it, but I certainly wouldn't say this was the best Fish N Chips I've had. It was a cool 'local' experience however to take out and eat on the pier and the water.

Yelp
Award winning fish and chips? We ordered from the take away counter as the line to sit down was quite long. Walked outside and began to eat (less than 2 minutes after receiving the food) and the food wasn't even hot. The fish wasn't bad but the chips are more like greasy sponges. Not a crisp one in the batch. The fish is fresh...from Iceland; I guess that may explain the price. Unfortunately there's nothing special about this place. I imagine every fish shop in town is just good. How they have won any awards is a wonder to me. I've had better fish and chips from a Chinese take away. Obviously the quality has taken a plunge since winning the award or the award giving committee got lucky. It's sad when a place works so hard to have a good product only to allow the product quality to slip after becoming famous. If you're gonna que up; try magpie a few doors down, it's probably better.

Yelp
How fish and chips should be! Gorgeous with a simple but perfectly executed service. If I was back in Whitby looking for 'once' and a cup of chah again, I'd drop in here.

Yelp
An award winning fish fryery, this premises is split into two.One side is a take-away and the other a spacious restaurant. The menu is quite comprehensive but typical of this type of establishment.Food is fresh cooked to order and arrives at the table piping hot.Portions are large and represent good value for money. The staff are both friendly and efficient and very helpful and accomodating if there are children in your party. An added bonus is that the restaurant is licenced so you can enjoy a beer(or two)with your meal.Even more enjoyable was the fact you could get a decent beer(Black Sheep) and not just lager. All in all a very pleasant experience and one I shall certainly repeat when next in Whitby.

Yelp
Decent fish and chips, cute staff, lovely bread. The line for the takeaway was huge so we went inside. Fast service. Tables a bit small. Great cup of tea.

Yelp
Got take-away fish and chips last time we were in Whitby. They only had one full-size fish ready, but asked if we were happy to have two small pieces on one of them. Very large portions - me and my husband could have easily shared the chips. Very nice - will definitely be going again!
