Quebra-Luz

The apartment is really nice, beautifully decorated, they took care about every little detail. The room was really warm and made me feel like I am at home. Everything was very clean, and the girl Andreia that was taking care of everything was really polite and helpful. The Quebra luz is ideally located in the old center of Coimbra, near the main pedestrian zone (1min), and many touristic attractions such as Se Velha ( 2min), Se Nova (5min) or the old University Polo I ( 7 mins). The supermarkets are also quiet close, and many restaurants in Baixa, as well. For me, Rua Quebra das Costas is the prettiest part of Coimbra. I loved my staying there!

We stayed for 3 nights. Our bed was very comfortable. We had a closet with ample hangers and a desk. Our shared bath was always clean. This is a small guesthouse. Our breakfast was simple but very good to start the day. We had a balcony above the small plaza next to a fado venue, shops and delicious restaurants. We had a view above some roof tops and the pedestrian staircase. The windows/door are soundproofed. On our first night, one of the restaurants had live jazz and we could hear the trumpet until midnight. On our second and third nights, it was very quiet by 22:00. We slept comfortably. However, if you are a light sleeper, there is no guarantee that there will be no late revelry below. That is part of being in the historic center. If you wish to walk, there are lots of steps in the old city. But the host of Quebra Luz can easily arrange a taxi just below the front door. You cannot find a more hospitable group of ladies than Filipa, Constancia and Mariana. Lovely, knowledgeable, helpful hosts. Their hospitality certainly enhanced our visit in Coimbra.

This four-to-five bedroom very reasonably priced guesthouse is tucked away on the second floor of an old building right in the middle of the historic section of lovely Coimbra, but turned out to be surprisingly modern and streamlined inside. Our room was basic but comfortable and clean, with only one small window overlooking the interior of the building (which we closed at night to block out noise from the street...largely worked.) Our host was delightful and knowledgeable - and even hopped into our car with us to guide us to a (free and conveniently located) parking spot we'd never have found on our own (which we appreciated greatly).

Great place to stay in Coimbra, an apartament to repeat. It is hosted by João and Margarida very very kind persons and best breakfast in an accommodation like this. It is a second floor in the heart of Coimbra (pedestrian street) with three rooms (one bigger with private bathroom and the other two share the other bathroom). There is a living room with a full equip kitchen and a gallery. Also the rooms (large bad, desk and wardrobe) have a balcony. Cheap, great location (find a place to park your car and get ready for the shape of the city) and service(breakfast included).

Me and my girlfriend spent 2 nights here.||It's a very nice place, in the coimbra's center.||We booked the room with the private bathroom. It's not in the room, but you have a dedicated key so no problem for your stuff inside.||There is no more breakfast but there a really good shop at 1 min by foot and cost about 2.5€ for 1 people.||Frendly host.

Really nice apartments and good atmosphere. The best is the service, very friendly staff. Good location, quite difficult if you have to reach there by car. And it is cheap. Great breakfast!

Amazingly good location , friendly staff , great and clean room. 10/10 if we ever go to Coimbra again we will definitely stay here again if possible.
