27 Places to Stay Near Acadia National Park | Condé Nast Traveler

"New to the scene in June 2022, I found Queen Anne’s Revenge to be a quirky, nautically themed three-star property with pirate-inspired decor (Kraken paintings and tall-ship decals), bold accent walls, and an on-site bar called Black Spot Tavern that serves rum, wine, beer and offers shuffleboard for a playful night out." - Emily Pennington

This hotel is adorable! Everything about it has such a cute, vintage charm. From the decor to the little details in the rooms, it feels dreamy and cozy, like stepping into a storybook. Our room was super clean, the bed was so comfortable, and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. They even let us check in early, which was so appreciated after a long travel! The location couldn’t be better — just a short walk to town, shops, and restaurants. The bathrooms could use a bit of updating, but honestly, that didn’t take away from how much we loved our stay. Such a perfect little place, we’ll definitely be back! I couldn’t recommend a better place to stay, that is close to everything you’d want to see or do!

Hotel is amazing and absolutely adorable. We stayed here for our elopement and were extremely impressed with the accommodations. The front desk was super helpful getting us in the correct room. They give a coupon for the bar which was AMAZING. Bryce made us signature cocktails and they were fantastic. He is extremely friendly and did an amazing job at the drinks. The only slight downfall is parking stressed me out lol but this quaint inn is a huge hit with a great coastal feel.

Really enjoyed our stay. The room was top notch clean. The bed in our room was so comfortable that my wife made me look for a brand and style tag on it because she wants to buy one for our house. Lol Staff was friendly. The breakfast had lots to offer, blueberry muffins were delicious. Within walking distance of all the shop’s, restaurants and waterfront excursions. I love that it didn’t feel like a hotel but also not a bed and breakfast either. We would definitely stay here again.

Stayed here for 4 days in room #6. Very cozy and clean! The room included an en suite, TV, and electric fireplace. Our view was of the back parking lot and we didn’t have a balcony like some other rooms but we did not spend much time in the room so it wasn’t a problem for us! The lighting and decor made it feel super cozy to come back to at the end of the day.||The amenities are limited but reasonable! Shampoo, conditioner, body wash and lotion dispensers. They also included 2 make-up wipes but only on the first day. A hair dryer was also provided. ||The breakfast is also limited, as described on their website. Cereal, yogurt, muffins, bagels & juice. Coffee and tea is available 24/7 though!||There is also a very cute mini bar on the grounds that serves from 2-9 and has a shuffle board. Upon check in, we were given a bar coupon for buy-1-get-one-for-$1.||The location in relation to the town was exactly what we wanted it to be! About a 10 minute walk to the village green. The walk passes many of the other local inns and was very pleasant. The location also makes for very quiet nights.||Overall, this inn is exactly what we needed! I feel like we got a very good experience for the price and would definitely stay here again.

The Black Pot Tavern rum bar is an absolute gem! It's super quaint, offering a cozy atmosphere that's perfect for unwinding. The chill vibe makes it an ideal spot to escape the hustle and bustle, whether you're looking to relax before or after supper. I highly recommend it if you’re staying nearby; it’s a delightful place to enjoy some great rum in a laid-back setting!

This place deserves more than 5 stars. I was very impressed by how nice it was. The room was very clean and we lucked up with a balcony. The hotel was within walking distance to everything in Bar Harbor. It also offered parking and a simple breakfast. I would diffidently recommend this place.

Superior location, walkable to the main drag in Bar Harbor and a couple minute drive from the park. Cute little B&B with a bar next door for cocktails. We were welcomed with champagne which was lovely. Would stay here again!

Our two night stay had some Ups and Downs.|High Points:|1. Great location on a quiet street, close to everything but not in the super busy area|2. Nice welcome upon check-in. Friendly employee and complimentary champagne!|3. Shuffleboard court…very fun!|4. Tables and chairs on front porch, coffee, ice water and tea available all day|5. Booked the funky attic room (because we spent most of the time at Acadia) and ended up having an upgrade to a suite.|6. Very close to Acadia and easy to access without driving through the busy Bar Harbor tourist areas|Low Points:|1. Terrible mixed drink at the bar. We utilized the bar coupon given to us at check-in. My drink was so bad I couldn’t finish it.|2. The carpet on the stairs in our suite was filthy. It may be beyond cleaning and should be replaced. There was very little lighting in our room…one small lamp.|3. Breakfast was ok (bagels and muffins) but I wouldn’t want to stay more than a day or two and eat this boring breakfast every day.||It’s hard to describe the style of this spot. Maybe quirky? All in all, we would stay here again.

Yelp
We were very impressed with everything here. We had a clean room, nice bed, clean water, a parking spot, and a nice staff. This hotel is ran much better than most it seems. I would stay here again.

Yelp
We stayed in two separate rooms here - our first room was great, the second room was bleh. The property is nice, there's a little bar attached next door (and you get a free drink per room), and the continental breakfast is clutch! The perks: coffee/tea are available all day, the continental breakfast is free and has a pretty good spread for a day of hiking, the fireplace is on in the lobby in the morning so it gets super cozy, the grounds have a nice little seating area, and the bar is fine for a quick drink (there was usually only 1-2 other guests we saw in there). It's in an excellent part of town, about a 10 minute walk from the main area but far enough away that it was nice and quiet. The first room was upstairs and was always warm with ample hot water and a large fridge. We were able to store multiple sandwiches in the fridge which was nice, and there's a microwave in the lobby that you can use to heat up meals as well. The second room we had to take because we extended our stay a few weeks after our initial booking, and they already gave our room to someone else which is fine. But the next room had a bit of a wonky heater, lacked shampoo, and just overall didn't feel as nice. The price point here is lower than other inns in the area, and ultimately we were happy with our stay!

Yelp
There are some really good aspects to this hotel/bed and breakfast. It is within close proximity to all of the restaurants and bars. There is ample parking on site. There is a bar attached to the property. And there is continental breakfast offered in the mornings. Upon arrival, we were presented with a glass of champagne and a voucher for a free drink at their bar. All of the aforementioned make it a 5 * rating. There were a few things that reduce it to a 4 * rating. The breakfast is one dimensional. All that was served were huge pastries. The muffins looked good but were so big they could have been split in four. Our room was small and a bit tired but our bathroom was enormous. Despite the large size, the layout was so wrong it made it hard to get ready for the day. There were no countertops to lay out our toiletries. Even the reusable soap dispenser couldn't fit on the pedestal sink. The soap dispenser was on a tiny wood side table that was so rickety we couldn't place anything else on it. The shower had ample room but no place to store our shampoo/conditioner and soap. Despite all of these complaints, we would stay here again when visiting Bar Harbor.

Yelp
Queen Anne's Revenge was exactly what we needed- a 5 minute walk into town. It had a cute bar with outside games that were fun with cute outdoor tables- shuffleboard, corn hole and a swing. A perfect relaxing place to stay for a trip to Bar Harbor/ Acadia. Staff was very accommodating. A little disappointed with the complimentary breakfast- they offered cereal, pastries, toast/bagels and juice/coffee. The Motels near by offered a hot breakfast. However there are so many spots you can get a great breakfast in town. I highly recommend cafe this way. The room was spacious and the bed was super comfortable. I think that they should offer water in the rooms/ inside. The only accessible water was in a Jug outside of the front hotel door. P.S. They give you free champagne upon arrival and a complimentary drink coupon for their bar! This was an awesome touch!

Yelp
We were very disappointed with our recent stay at this Inn. The staff was not cordial or welcoming and in one case we had to track them down to find assistance. Our room was very cheaply furnished - I could find better lamps and side tables at TJ Maxx! There was only one mirror - in the bathroom. A full-length mirror in the bedroom would have been useful. The shower curtain was the cheapest thing I've ever seen. Towels were thin and there was only one bath towel rod. The toilet paper rod was loose so the TP kept falling off. I have no problem with refillable bath products such as shampoo, conditioner, soap and lotion (it's better for the environment) but housekeeping needs to refill them when they get low. There was also a lot of noise coming from another room which I think was their bathroom fan - it was VERY noticeable in our room creating a loud buzzing noise. The most annoying thing was that the TV remote didn't work properly - you could turn it on & off, but changing channels and volume was very hit & miss if it worked at all. We told the front desk and left a note in our room for housekeeping - but it was not fixed! The continental breakfast was fine except the toaster handles were both broken, making it difficult to start or stop the toasting. The toaster should be functional if you are going to present yourself as a high-end property. We would NOT recommend the Queen Anne's Revenge to anyone. We've stayed at older Inns such as this and the amenities have been first class, so we were expecting it to be a special property and it was not.

Yelp
My wife and I made a last minute decision to visit Maine. Couldn't have been luckier than to book a room at the Queen Anne's Revenge. Staff was very friendly. Location was perfect. Easy access to Acadia National Park and walking distance to all things Bar Harbor. Room was fun, not your typical hotel room. The Continental Breakfast was a great way to start each day before heading out for hiking or Kayaking. The attached Bar was nice for a drink before heading to dinner or to sleep off our day's adventure. We will definitely stay here again when we return.

Yelp
Wonderful place to stay. I was in room 16 and it was beautiful. Spacious with a little sitting room and a very nice bedroom with an attached deck. There is a fireplace in the room and the most comfortable king size bed. I don't think I've ever raved about pillows before but believe me these had me sleeping like a baby. Walking distance to everything and a super friendly staff. Would absolutely stay here again!

Yelp
We had a prepaid reservation at this hotel for Labor Day weekend this past year. My mom died the day before we were supposed to go, so of course we cancelled. Despite telling them the reason, they refused to refund us. Very poor service, very disappointing. We will return to Bar Harbor but will choose a different hotel.

Yelp
Unfriendly front desk staff, blah breakfast, blah musky room. Looks much better in the photographs .
