Google
The best bakery in Sioux Falls. Lots of variety and options and great welcoming atmosphere!

Google
An absolute gem! Attentive, efficient staff, great layout and design, and a fantastic, rotating selection of pastries. I loved the center-bar layout. I just wish they were open some evenings, as well! There's sometimes a bit of a line, so time your visit, if you can.

Google
Had a lovely time here! They've got creative, delicious lattes. Their staff demonstrated some serious finesse during a busy holiday morning rush of customers! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, the space is clean, and I really appreciated the refills on my coffee/attentiveness of the staff! Very lovely spot to bring friends and family visiting Sioux Falls!

Google
Arguably the best coffee in town and their bakery selection is bar none. They do sell out of things throughout the morning, so the earlier you can go the better. The space is very open and you can usually get a seat without much trouble.

Google
This is the place to come for amazing quiche, I think about the quiche often during my week, it's that good. Espresso is great, blueberry crumb bar --also great. Food here is without question, incredible and memorable. The thing I was a little uneasy about was the general atmosphere of the staff. Particularly the pretty, long haired brunette. Every time I have been here I've had some sort of interaction with her, she rings me up, takes my order, plops a food item down in front of me. So I feel like this is pretty steady behavior. Look, I think if you're going to have grumpy staff, that's totally fine, your food and efficient service more than make up for it. So if that's the route you want to take, I think you should just lean into it or try to be a little more friendly. It would almost be a cool shtick to have, sort of like the Soup Nazi, ya know? But if that's not what you're going for then perhaps...perhaps...just don't glare at every customer that you're helping. I'm almost 100% sure it's nothing personal at all, but that's not a great point of argument when you work in customer service. Again though, I don't even care if you're still mildy and unintentionally rude to me (I'm oversensitive anyway), I'll keep coming back for the quiche *chefs kiss*. -Sincerely, a girl who also has RBF but has been working on it for years.

A cozy cafe in the city♥️ My most favorite 🫶

Google
Every now and then we come across a gem in Sioux Falls. Rarely do they embody the feeling of community so well in such a cozy space. The staff is my favorite and always takes great care of us bar-side loiterers. QCB having the best coffee in town and best treats is just a cherry on top for my favorite spot to work remotely or just hang out for an hour. There’s my sappy 5-star review for the year that Mitch will surely make fun of me for. All love for QCB!

Google
Wonderfully spacious coffee shop in a great location on the east bank of downtown. Watch out! If you try their quiche, you'll probably have to order it every time you visit because it is amazing. The "hammer" sandwich is also a favorite of mine. Pictured here is another highlight, their chocolate almond croissant. Their "best drink ever" is a very tasty 'not too sweet' iced coffee. Great service. Great environment. I highly recommend.

Yelp
Everything we had was delicious! Not to be unhelpful, but I recommend it all. Tried a quiche, cornbread, and coffee cake and they all were amazing! The coffees were great, too. The ambiance is very cozy -- warm and comfortable. Plenty of seating, and a convenient location downtown just a short walk from Falls Park. Service was friendly, and fast and efficient even given a decent sized line.

Yelp
Visited at 930 on a Sunday and it was quite busy already (they open at 9). This was only my 2nd time here so I wish they had some menus available towards the bar seating where the line wraps around so we could be deciding what to order before being at the register because they've got a huge variety of baked goods to choose from! They had 3 quiche flavors but otherwise most items are sweet in nature. The spinach/bacon quiche was delicious - creamy filling with flaky crust. Tried one of their specialty lattes and it was pretty good. Highly recommend the blueberry/almond scone as well! The guy that waited on me was incredibly friendly and paid attention to detail which I appreciate. It's a popular local place with several 2-person, 4-person, and larger tables to sit at.

Yelp
Yummmm. We stopped here and got some coffees, scones, and lemon bars. Looks like a good space to hangout and do work/read/study.

Yelp
We stopped by for a coffee after visiting the Sioux Falls and was pleasantly surprised and throughly impressed. The bakery had a lot of variety (though more for the sweet tooth, not as much for the savory ones). I had a hard time choosing amongst the cheesecake, cream pie, pecan pie, lemon bar, etc. Finally, chose the lemon bar and loved it. My husband got himself a dark chocolate bread pudding and enjoyed it too. Oh, and it was $4 each - extremely reasonable for freshly prepared bakery goods! The service was friendly. The setup was excellent - high ceilings, day light pouring in, spacious interiors, relaxing music. Many others were "working from home" from the cafe too.

Yelp
Great place to grab a coffee and a bite to eat! Cool building as well and friendly staff!

Yelp
Queen City Bakery was busy when I came in for breakfast. I had skipped my hotel breakfast to try something local. I was definitely impressed by all of the options. They do a good job to balance sweet and savory options. Despite it being 8:15, I really wanted to get a slice of cake. However, I showed some restraint. After a short wait, I ordered a slice of their coffee cake and a bacon, cheddar, scallion quiche with a iced dirty chai to drink. The cashier who helped me was really sweet. She put my quiche in the heater, made my drink and got my coffee cake. I took a seat at the counter. I watched as additional quiches got put into the heating mechanism, pulled out and distributed. Eventually the person who ordered after me got their quiche. Then the person behind them. At that point the server noticed that I still didn't have mine. She grabbed another, put it in the heater, then brought it to me. A quick apology would have been appreciated. Nonetheless, the quiche was delicious. Really good crust and filling. The coffee cake let me down. It was pretty dry and I wanted more flavor from both the cake and the crumb topping. Drink was good. Overall, I liked the vibe of Queen City Bakery and I'd return if nothing else than for a slice of cake.

Yelp
Yummy bakery goods ! Will always stop in to get my sweet tooth fix. Staff is really nice too.

Yelp
Having recently relocated to the city we were acquainting ourselves with downtown and looking for a place to sit down for a quick coffee. So glad we stopped and got out. We'll definitely be back ...

Annie M.

Yelp
The Spinach, Swiss, bacon quiche was incredible! Buttery, flaky crust It's definitely a busy place, very loud, and lots of family/group meetings. Not great for getting work done. I was bummed that they didn't offer decaf coffee. I got an 8oz. Cappuccino and the milk texture was heavenly! The coffee was a bit burnt, but overall still an excellent cappuccino! Service was quick, but not the friendliest. Which is to be understood considering the line of people.

Gayle C.

Yelp
More of a coffee shop than a bakery. They had just a few items available. Was a disappointment.
google avatar

Yelp
If you're looking for an adorable, well functioning cafe/bakery, stop here. Heck, bring in the instagrammers, they'll be salivating over these picturesque cappuccinos. The scone and quiche were excellent! They rotate so make sure you check social media! Right after we got there, an entire flock of coffee grabbers came in, simply overwhelming the staff. Nevertheless, these stalwart baristas handled the copious orders with professionalism. 5/5 absolutely delicious.

Andy C.

Yelp
Simply the best coffee and baked goods in town in my opinions. Nice staff and cozy vibes.

Yelp
How have I never been to this place previously?!? The oatmeal cookie I had was...the best cookie I ever had in my life...? I spent a little over $30 on a box of assorted cookies I selected, as a Christmas gift for my aunt, and I feel like that worked out very well.

Melody I.

Yelp
I stood at the counter for 10 minutes, only 1 person ahead of me, that person paid for her food. I then stood there waiting for someone to even smile or say hi, or even give me eye contact. Nothing! Absolutely poor customer service! I will never come back in.

Nicole S.

Yelp
Great bakery items! The croissants and quiches are the best in town!!! But unfortunately this visit the staff was very unwelcoming and unfriendly. I have been here many times and this is the first time I have received customer service like this. We were not even greeted as we made our order at the register we were not asked what we would like to order the woman working the counter just stood there and I was unsure if she was ready to take my order or not. After letting her know what we would like she gave me my total handed me my items and walked away. I don't expect perfect customer service but the least you could do is make your paying customers feel welcomed in your environment. I love this place and hope to return soon and hopefully someone with better customer service is working the front counter.....

Yelp
We chose to try this place, as it was recommended by a colleague. The store is very clean, and the staff were very friendly. We were there to grab a snack, and got a donut muffin, a peanut butter bar, a lavender honey latte, and another seasonal drink. The donut muffin was delicious, and the peanut butter bar was very rich. The coffee was very smooth and creamy. The space is large with several tables and looks like a great space for groups.

Yelp
Queen City Bakery is located in what looks like an old factory. The ordering counter is in the middle of a big open space with lots of seating surrounding it. The hubs and I visited for breakfast around 9:30am on a Sunday and did not have to wait to order or find a seat. One of the young women seemed pretty grumpy to be at work, however, the young lady that took our order was friendly and patient while we took our time ordering. Hubby ordered an iced coffee with milk and a sausage quiche. The coffee tasted like straight black coffee and had what looked like coffee ice cubes in it (that was pretty cool). I ordered a chai latte and the veggie quiche. Being a chai tea snob, I wasn't impressed with the gigantic tea bag sitting in my cup or that it tasted like regular tea with some frothy milk. Although $6 seems pretty expensive for luke warm, mini quiches, they tasted great! Flaky crusts with savory ingredients made for a great combo. Overall, I would probably go back to one of the other pastry places downtown rather than come back to Queen City. Happy eating Yelpers!

Yelp
Have to get the chocolate espresso cake. It's so tasty! Nice place to hang. Very spacious. Staff were nice!

Yelp
Stopped in this morning for a coffee and tried a peanut butter bar. Both were great. I'll stop in again next time I'm in Sioux Falls.

Yelp
I really like Queen City. The outdoor patio space is one of the best in the area. They have some very tasty pastries, the bagel bombs are by far my favorite. The various muffins, scones, and cookies are also generally very high quality and flavorful. I got a quiche last time I went, I didn't love it so I won't get it again, but there is plenty of variety for everyone to find a treat they enjoy!
google avatar

Yelp
I just had the best damn latte I've ever had. The quiche was delish too. The service was very friendly.

Helo K.

Yelp
We were in QC bakery a while back. I saw a card that stated "bake like a m_____ f_____" in large letters, inside the bakery, just inside the window where you can view the baking. This is worse than appalling, especially since the owner did not reply after I talked with her. I returned to see that the 'card' was still there for anyone, especially children to view. So, not returning and I've told others about the 'bad taste' of such a needless and despicable display.

Yelp
What's not to love about this place. The food, drinks, staff, and atmosphere are blend into the perfect spot to meet friends or bring out of town guests. I have gotten the passion fruit pavlova, which I think is the best desert I have ever had, bourbon pecan bar, sausage jalapeño quiche, lemon bars, and cookies. Each and every item I have purchased has been a joy to eat and all my guest love the food they get. Mitch and his wife have the best coffee shop in town. Stop in and relax or grab a drink and food to go. You won't be disappointed.

Yelp
The bakery atmosphere is far & away the best I've ever experienced. The space is huge and is perfect for firing up the laptop and cleaning up that inbox. WiFi is legit and easy to get on, none of that google / advert BS that misfires with VPN logins - it's a factor... Coffee is my fave. The cream is heavy and fresh from the farm and never disappoints. I'm not big on muffins and scones but the maple glazed scones are my fave and the donut muffins are spot on - I don't really dabble with anything else in that realm. The quiche is good but if I'm being honest, it's just not substantial enough for my taste. What else, oh yeah the cake - amazing. Don't go for the cupcakes, go for the cake slice. The peanut butter bars are perfect, the honeycomb tart is a must (if it hasn't sold out) and the lemon bars are legit too. Monster cookies are awesome. Those are my faves and I've had it all. Plan to spend over $10 and get what you want, it's a good place to treat yourself and enjoy a local treasure.

Yelp
They serve delicious coffee with a unique breakfast menu. The bacon and spinach quiche is amazing, they have two additional options for quiche. They also have sandwiches and pastries.
google avatar

Loralee B.

Yelp
A bit spendy, but the quiche and coffee were yummy. The atmosphere is neat...might be great for working outside of the office. The service was great and company even better. I've heard the birthday cakes from Queen City are to die for!

K R.

Yelp
I travel a lot for my work and really enjoy a good pastry. This is one of the best bakery's I've been to in years! I highly recommend it. I tried a brioche bun for the first time and thought it was amazing. It was light moist and sweet one of the best pastries I've had in years.

Annly D.

Yelp
Found this gem during a roadtrip and wish I lived closer! The interior is huge, and they also have lots of spread out seating inside. Would be a great place to get some work done or have a coffee date. We had an iced vanilla latte and drip, as well as one of the quiches, a savory scone, and the donut muffins. All very tasty and filling. The woman at the register was also super nice answering my questions.

Yelp
Visiting Sioux Falls and found this cute cafe. The coffee was good and the deserts are even better! I recommend that chocolate pie and also Sunday special apple turnovers and croissants!! They are super good. The hospitality is A plus! Highly recommended.

Dannie W.

Yelp
Best cakes, pies and desserts in town. Great space for a coffee and pastry. The peanut butter chocolate bars are to die for

Yelp
My wife and I were in Sioux Falls for the day and decided to grab coffee and a snack here. We had an iced coffee and iced mocha. Also had a lemon bar and turnover. Everything was quickly given to us and tasted great. There was one way in and one way out due to covid and masks we're required indoors. Being from a state where's masks we're mandated, this made us more comfortable. The lady helping us was also very patient with us looking at the menu and choosing what we wanted. Perfect start to our day.

Yelp
This bakery/coffee shop is HUGE! Great space for coming in to work or socialize, and plenty of community tables to be able to have a small meeting with coworkers or friends. I ordered an iced coffee and it came with ice balls made of coffee! Genius! I also ordered a corn muffin-bake that had an egg in it, it was like nothing I've ever had and delicious! The barista behind the bar was nice and greeted me right away. This place is great!

Yelp
Very high quality eats and coffee. Friendly staff, great atmosphere, and friendly clientele. Located in the same building as Prairie Berry and within easy walking distance from the river. Great selection of individually sized quiches, sandwiches, cakes, pies, cookies, and several gluten free and vegan options. Coffee is some of the best in town, whipped cream is homemade, and heavy cream is readily available for your coffee.

Yelp
So, we are from Texas driving through on our way to see Mt Rushmore. Yelp directed us to this delicious bakery and did not disappoint. The owner and patrons were so nice - giving us excellent food and tourist suggestions. We spent about $50 on three of us, but pretty much bought one of everything delicious.
google avatar

Yelp
Awesome! Everything we had deserves 5 stars! Chai Latte, Quiche, Brioche Bread Pudding, Hand Pie, Affagato... all YUMMMMMM!!

Yelp
This def is my favorite oat milk latte in sioux falls! They have a toffee miel which is delicious. Love the open atmosphere. Great ambiance. Can work on laptops here.

Yelp
Delicious selection. Great coffee and atmosphere. Quiche was amazing and the bagel bomb was filled with fantastic bacon and scallion cream cheese. New favorite when coming through Sioux Falls
google avatar

Yelp
Best bakery in town. My personal favorites are the quiche, jammers, and of course the almond croissants. Besides the best food, Queen City also boasts the best service. This is the kind of place where you are known by name.

Jessica A.

Yelp
Haven't been into this wonderful place for a couple of years and today I requested a drink in a smaller size which isn't on the menu, she didn't think twice and made it just as I asked. They received a rush after I ordered and gave excellent service. I'll always recommend Queen City Bakery.
google avatar

Leo K.

Yelp
Great space, lots of light and seating, and a great spot to meet someone for coffee or an out-of-office meeting. Friendly service. The food is also excellent. They have the best quiche in town.
google avatar

Ashley E.

Yelp
Lovely place to sit and enjoy a quiet morning reading the newspaper or visiting with a group. Great outdoor seating and excellent baked goods.
google avatar

Benjamin W.

Yelp
Probably the best mini quiche I've ever tasted. Of course I'm no quiche expert, but the filling was light and creamy, and the crust was flaky and delicious. I went for the potato, bacon and blue cheese flavor. Also, they brew a mean keemun organic black tea... and I am a tea nut. This was no flavored hot water. Looks like they use loose leaf tea and stuff it in fairly breathable (not paper) tea bags. I forgot how much I like keemun! Above all, the decor, ambience and location (other nice storefronts, nearby hotels) really made it a great place to start the morning with friends. Glad I checked it out!

Fares M.

Yelp
I visited Queen City bakery over a 200 times in the last 5 years. Hands down it's a wonderful place to go to. Even on a busy Saturday morning there's always a place to sit and chat with friends or just sit alone and do whatever work you do. It's a locally-owned business. They make great cakes and other sweet things. The yogurt parfait is also exquisite and they have ice-cream I believe. Their coffee is lovely and they have many types of tea. Because it's located in a historic building, they can't have a big sign at the door with its name so just google their address. There's limited parking on 8th street but there's tons of parking in the back (there are signs that direct you to parking). The service is very good and rather quick.

Casey D.

Yelp
A very aesthetically pleasing place with a nice ambiance. However, each time I have gone to QCB, the staff seem almost irritated while taking my order and I have never been greeted with a smile--they just seem to be impolite overall. Furthermore, I find the coffee to be subpar and closer to water than actual coffee. I even found their espresso to be unsatisfactory, which was a let down because I really like espresso. A great place to walk into, look at, and leave. **I can't share my opinion about their baked goods as I have never ventured to try one.**
google avatar

Yelp
The best sandwich I've ever had. It was so simple and so perfect. I literally drew my roommate a diagram of the sandwich to explain to her how and why it was so good. I'm talking about the rosemary focaccia with ham and plugra. I thought it was cheese at first but the sandwich melted so luxuriously in my mouth. Half way through I was like "this is totally a slice of butter!" The ham was the best I've ever had. I wish I knew where they get there ham from so I could recreate this masterpiece sandwich back home in Michigan. The bread provided the perfect chewiness with a slight crunch on top from the sea salt and olive oil, and there was not too much of any ingredient. I also had a cappuccino which was fairly priced and well made. The kind of smooth beverage that is so good I can skip the sugar. I really like when the milk is well mixed with the espresso causing a light texture and a seamless introduction to the foam. To me this is the best way to do a cappuccino. The facility is impeccable. Its easy to find a table or join someone else's. Who ever designed this place is smart to have the bakery in the back with a window to showcase the talents of the bake staff. Also I noticed how clean and organized the kitchen was. Seems like the chef is running a happy yet tight ship. The coffee bar in the middle of the room is a nice touch and makes a lot of sense. I love a well thought out design concept. This place is huge and welcoming.
google avatar

Melissa C.

Yelp
So much space! Lots of room to walk around and have your own private nook to nibble or sip. I rated this a 4 star because the prices are too high. I paid $2.94 for my regular size chocolate chunk cookie. My sister paid $4.82 for a simple fizzy izzy drink and shortbread cookie. If you are looking for the experience of a clean, hip, spacious atmosphere then this is the place for you. If you want your pastry on a budget or more of a selection, I suggest finding somewhere else.
google avatar

Becca R.

Yelp
The perfect place to spend a Sunday morning. The coffee is amazing and the dessert always keeps me coming back for more.
google avatar

Carolyn L.

Yelp
Love everything about this place! Baked goods (croissants - Wed/Sun, "morning buns - Sun," changing selection of pies and cakes -YUM), amazing quiches everyday, great coffee, lovely staff, and beautiful ambiance. I make sure to go at least once a week if I am able. QCB makes Sioux Falls a better place!

Yelp
Quality desserts and wonderful coffee. The slice of Birthday cake was huge, the lemon bar was so fresh (plus it tasted so yummy) and the brownie was a chocolate lovers dream. The girls working were amazing! Thank you for being open until 5 on Saturday's now, instead of 3.
