America's Next Great Wine Region Is in Arizona

"I found Queen of Cups worth the hunt in Patagonia: a boutique, tucked-away operation practicing low-intervention winemaking with fruit from Arizona and Mexico to produce vibrant wines such as zippy Picpoul Blanc and a structured, elegant Tannat." - Lucy Simon

Thank you for allowing us to taste and enjoy a glass of wine, we had a wonderful experience. Please try this little winery gem! So happy to take home a bottle and to be able to reuse my bottles and then save $$.

Wonderful, friendly atmosphere with locally sourced drinks and food. Affordable and delicious! They make their own wine and the menu is different every night. The bread is homemade and the meat and cheese board is very good. We went two nights in a row and were blown away. Best practice is to get there early because they are a small kitchen and will run out of entrees later in the evening.

A hidden gem! This little tasting room is tucked behind the center of town. We visited on a Saturday afternoon during a weekend getaway to Patagonia. One of the owners, Lily, was behind the bar and gave us a thorough tour of the wines on their tasting menu. She and her partner, Emmett, were very welcoming and even gave us a sample of a 2023 that they were preparing for bottles the next day. The wines were really lovely and they both have a deep knowledge of their craft (their Malvasia was a highlight for me). We didn’t intend on eating but they have a delicious and unique small bites menu (Mediterranean-inspired bites). We had the split pea dip with lemon preserves and the lions mane mushroom “crab cake” sandwich - both were really delightful with their wines (and honestly a refreshing and welcome alternative to just charcuterie boards found at most tasting rooms). They allowed us to have our senior dog with us in the tasting room and had a very sweet dog themselves. Please support these wonderful people and their growing business! Queen of Cups needs to be on every wine lover’s (or food lover’s) list when passing through Patagonia!

WOW So impressed with these AZ wines. As a wine maker from Missouri I understand so much of the process. Who what e thought a dessert could create such great wines!! Kudos to the wine maker! I see only great things ahead. Their ingenious approach to bottling coupled with an on site owner wine maker will out perform your expectations!!

We just happened to be walking in the area and saw the sign. Although they weren't open, we were welcomed in and enjoyed some fantastic wine! I highly recommend the tempranillo.

Had been looking forward to visiting Queen of Cups since they opened, and it was everything we imagined it would be and more! Everything at The Queen—from delicious cocktails and wine to curated appetizers to the entree du jour—is served with heart and flavor. We also loved all the thoughtful design details; the energy inside is fun, relaxed, and classy. Getting a chance to mingle with the lovely owners was a special treat. Thank you! We’ll be back.

Nice little place we found by accident but highly recommend. We enjoyed a flight and some appetizer. We will definitely be back.

Yelp
Loved our experience here! We took a chance on a Friday (they have later hours!) and bought a wine flight/tasting. The wine is delicious and the service was impeccable. A great place to bring a pup on the patio. They have great touches like fig trees and wine vines adorning the outside. Strongly recommend visit here when in town!

Yelp
When I think of Queen of Cups, I think of a wonderful place to gather with loved ones while getting excellent service and feeling part of their work-family when you talk to the owners/employees. Emmett and Lily sure know how to make all their customers feel right at home and it's obvious how much everyone appreciates their hospitality. Queen of Cups is my favorite place for small bites and wine when I am in Patagonia. I miss the rotating menu they used to offer but now that they are in full swing with it being a winery, I love that they still have appetizers to pair with all the delicious wines they make. While they most definitely knew how to throwdown some delicious food, I can appreciate that their focus is on wine because I have been to almost ever winery between Sonoita and Elgin and while I have a few favorites, Queen of Cups if the only winery I have ever been to where every single wine they put out is nothing short of excellent (including white wines, and I used to be a red wine only gal). To say that Queen of Cups is one of the best wineries I have ever been to would be an understatement. I have so many good memories with friends and family over meals, wine beer & cocktails shared both at the bar and their adorable outdoor patio. They no longer serve beer/cocktails but those were nothing short of amazing while they lasted. Definitely stop by for a wine tasting, you will not be disappointed. What an amazing little gem in the lovely town of Patagonia.

Yelp
My partner and I were visiting Arizona from out of town and were shopping at Patagonia Trading Post when we discovered this amazing adorable winery!! We did the wine tasting and had a couple snacks to eat. The food was outstanding, amazing sweet service, and excellent wine! The atmosphere and decor is all the cherry on top, we will definitely be stopping by here whenever we are in Patagonia. And we got a few bottles of wine to take back to Los Angeles with us!

Yelp
We stopped by for a wine tasting and were pleasantly surprised. Emmet discussed the wines with us and gave us a tour. This is small operation. Very quaint bar area. We enjoyed the wine and the vibe.
