Such a vibrant and happening place! It’s full of different cultures, street performers, musicians, and something new going on every day. I loved the energy here. It’s a great spot not just for entertainment, but also for amazing food and shopping. Super accessible with lots of options all around. Definitely a must-visit spot if you’re in Brisbane!

Many shops like Uniqlo, apparels, Converse shoes, shoes, and luxury shopping like Channel etc. Good time to spend your afternoon weekend shopping. Stop by Mixue Ice Cream and Tea for a delicious Ice Cream Sundae as well for a well-deserved treat.

The iconic shopping street of Brisbane City. It has many luxury brands, restaurants, and many more. It has a variety of nice architecture, ranging from modern, to vintage European-style buildings, making it very aesthetic from the different combinations.

Its a really cool space with lots of shops and events. However not a good spot to go if you're disabled or struggle with accessiblilty. I am sure there must be elevators and ground floor bathrooms somewhere but they are poorly marked (if at all) and none of the shopkeepers I asked knew where any were. I had to go way across to the public library just to use the bathroom and I never did find a way to the many shops only available by stairs or escalators. If you have a disability please make time to check in advance where the elevators and bathrooms are. I was late to an event because of it and wish I had checked in advance or budgeted in more time to look. I just didn't anticipate they wouldn't be clearly marked. There are escalators for some places if you can use those but not all.

Located right in the heart of the CBD, Queen Street Mall is lined with all kinds of shops and always buzzing with people, even on weekdays. It’s lively, convenient, and packed with options, though it can feel a bit crowded at times.

Google
It’s a pedestrian street area with Queen Street and Albert Street being the main ways. There are 3 shopping centres in this area, Uptown (the most versatile shopping centre), QueensPlaza (Clothing and Luxuries), and Wintergarden. Moreover, it’s quite convenient that there’s even bus stops connected to Uptown on Level A. If you want to take a taxi, there is a taxi service on George Street, the left side of Queen Street Mall opposite the Treasury.

Queen Street Mall is a must-visit if you're in the city. It's a perfect mix of big-name brands, boutique stores, cafes, and street performers — all in a lively, open-air setting. The atmosphere is always buzzing, whether you're shopping, grabbing a coffee, or just enjoying a walk. There’s something for everyone — fashion, food, tech, and even great spots to sit and people-watch. It’s clean, safe, and super easy to get to by public transport. Highly recommended for both locals and tourists looking to experience the best of Brisbane’s city life!

Yelp
THE HEART OF THE CITY ! I used to work in a record store in Queens St ( near Albert St ) when I was a young guy. It was the place to be because that was where all the action was ! Later in the early 80's they shut down part of Queen St and turned it into a pedestrian mall. It was a great idea to compete against the huge suburban shopping malls..and it worked by bringing shoppers back to the city heart. And then a few years late they extended the mall even further all the way to George St. All sorts of things happened after that...the Queenland Treasury Building got turned into a Casino and overseas tourists swarmed into the city. I met my wife at a swank French nightclub in the 90's and we used to eat at various restaurants in the Queen Street Mall. When you visit Brisbane you have to visit the Queen Street Mall to check out the huge department stores Myer & David Jones and much more. YOU'LL LOVE IT !

Yelp
'Ello chaps! Queen Street Mall is a marquee tourist and shopping area of downtown Brisbane. It extends from George Street to Edward Street with more than 700 retailers. Many of them include the kitschy tourist shops. NOTE: Don't assume all of the stores are the same. Some may have the very same products, but even at different prices. It's worth the while to browse around first and then actually make your purchases. Other stores include shoe stores, clothing, jewelry, and odds and ends. It does seem as though Queen Street Mall may have seen better days, although it is buzzing. It's better than a typical American shopping mall, although it is not a five star high end shopping plaza, making it very affordable for most shoppers. Reportedly there were 26 million visitors to Queen Street Mall last year. Overall I give Queen Street Mall four stars out of five.

Yelp
I probably go to the Queen Street Mall too often. At some level, I feel lame for not exploring other options or areas. However, it's just too easy. It's well located and has just about everything one could want. There's food, drinks, movies, food, drinks, clothes, mobile phones, banks, etc, etc, etc. The current construction is a bit annoying, but it's hard to knock improvements being made. The result is a bit of a bottleneck with the huge crowds walking around on weekends. This is a problem when you walk faster than basically any other human in existence and are incredibly impatient. So, it's probably more of a problem just for people like me, which thankfully, I don't believe can be found in abundance. I like that there is often music and the people watching is tremendous.

Yelp
If you want to do some serious shopping, Queen Street mall is the place to go. Queen street has a series of shopping centres including 'The Myer Centre', 'Wintergarden', 'Broadway', and 'Queens Plaza'. Out of these shopping centres you will find chain stores, boutiques, restaurants, cafes, you name it! All of these range from low-end to high-end. Queen street mall has grown throughout the years, there are always new shops and boutiques being open that it is hard to keep up! Currently, Wintergarden is being refurbished which I think will become a huge competitor to 'Queens Plaza'. I like to start my shopping journey from the top end of Queen street. Here you will find chain stores like 'Valley girl', 'Chicabooti' and 'Crocs', then you will hit Myer. This is the best Myer in Brisbane, it is 4 levels and has most of what you are looking for. If I had to pick the best shopping centre on Queen st it would be the Myer Centre as it offers something for everyone. If have a lot of shopping to do in one day, come to Queen st, it is the best option.

Yelp
Queen Street Mall is a beautiful shopping area in Brisbane, with shops ranging from Coles to Chanel and everything in between. Whether you're looking for a high-end shopping experience or just want to pick something up, you're likely to find what your after. Eateries range from juice bars to "traditional English pubs" (trust me, there is nothing traditionally English about that place), and the whole area is pedestrianised with free wifi and a gorgeous ambience. Worth a stroll through if you're passing, or a specific trip if you want to shop.

Yelp
During the day this place is a hive of activity, however that suddenly stops at around 9pm at night when all of the shops close and the inhabitants vanish to find entertainment elsewhere. This is a thing about Brisbane - everything dies at around 9:00 pm, and this place, the centre of the Brisbane shopping experience (as least for tourists and other visitors) is no exception. This entire place is a non-smoking zone, which basically means that only those who really don't care about no smoking zones will smoke (though you are more likely to get away with it here than, say, lighting up in a restaurant, or on an aeroplane). The mall is not only jammed packed full of shops (though most of these shops tend to be located in the arcades that branch off from the mall) but there are also a couple of cafes and a pub. Okay, the mall doesn't necessarily die down after dark because I do remember one time when I came out of the cinemas to be confronted by a religious group louding proclaiming that everybody was going to hell. Some guy then told me that you get used to it because if it isn't the Christians, its the Communists, not that their message was any different as far as he was concerned.
google avatar

Steven L.

Yelp
It's not the central location. It's not all the shops. It's the lack of smoking! Yep. Smoking is banned in the mall. You still get the odd anti social git lighting up, but in general, it's a glorious, stench free zone. Downside being you have to walk through smoke curtains at the ends to get in or out of the mall, but when you're inside, it's delightful. But yes, it IS central to everything, and everything you might need is within reach. The standard place to meet in Brisbane is outside HJs in the mall.

Yelp
The center of Brisbane. Most Brisbanites take it for granted but you won't find something quite like this in Sydney or Melbourne. It contains and is close to pretty much anything you would expect a city to have all in one place and all mashed together. What is here: Multiple major shopping centres from low to high end. These in turn contain all the stores you would expect to see in Australia. All kinds of cafes, restaurants, clubs, bars and pubs. Tourist centre. Performance stages. Bank branches. Telecommunication branches. Police beats. Pharmacies. Street performers. Hotels. Even contains strip clubs. etc. etc. etc. Very close by: Most public transport routes. Business headquarters. Government services. Hotels and backpackers. Squares. Museums. Galleries. Casino. Parks. The river. Tips: The restaurants & cafes in the middle of the mall are all open 24/7. At night it becomes populated with more drunks due to the proximity to bars and pubs but it's generally quite safe.

Yelp
One tip to foreigners: the Queen Street Mall can be a dangerous place at night. It used to be much worse, however, until they upped the policing of the area following public uproar in 2009. Still, you can encounter groups of drunks ready to rumble after a night out clubbing, or even fall prey to the day-drunks who have staggered out of Jimmy's On The Mall, Gilhooleys or another nearby pub. CCTV has also helped towards curbing a lot of this behaviour. The Brisbane Times reported that on New Year's Eve just past, a "police officer was bitten, another spat on and a rail transit officer was repeatedly punched in the face in alleged assaults by teenage girls". This would have been just a mild night out in the past. I'm not saying this is our Skid Row - far from it. It's generally thriving with businessmen and hot girls who like to strut their stuff, but danger lurks for the unlucky after dark.

Yelp
Great place to visit in Brisbane. Shopping a plenty from top of the line to finding a bargain. Heaps of cafe's and eateries. Close to the river and just a short walk to South Bank

Yelp
From small cafes & pubs to quality restaurants. plenty of services from pharmacies, banks and the telcos etc All the people into fashion there is that as well. Naturally souvenir places about as well. Even got the department stores like Myer, David Jones. Check out the Myer Centre, Wintergarden or the Queens Plaza. Has a bit of everything. A bit of renovations at the moment with the shops down the middle of the Mall. Can't wait to see it finished. It did look dated. One big draw card for me is the whole Queen St Mall is 'Smoke Free' indoors and outdoors. Only tip, avoid the weekend. Place is crowded. Feel many of the crowd in the weekend aren't too sure what they are in for. Seem to walk around without a purpose not sure what they should be doing or seeing.

Yelp
This is a great central spot for people watching, one of my favorite things to do while sitting on one of the many available benches (or the open eateries such as Jimmy's or Pig and Whistle). I would like to compare this area to Santa Monica's 3rd Street Promendate -- both have a mix of unique shops along with upscale/posh retail stores. And I bet Queen Street has some "local" entertainment. I'm a very new "Brisbanite" so I find myself often coming here because it is the most familiar to me (at some point I will have to venture out to the Barracks, Paddington, and other areas I've heard mentioned). Plus it's fun to do people watching and wonder "are they Brisbanites? or tourists?" and other stuff like that to entertain myself.

Yelp
The Queen Street Mall has seen heaps of changes over the years (and yet, strangely, Jo Jo's persists). This Brisbane icon was our first pedestrian mall, and it was in serious danger of falling into a mess of chain stores and tourist traps a few years ago. Thankfully, the Queens Plaza development and the ongoing Wintergarden facelift has resuscitated the shopping strip and Brisbane City Council has kept up by doing renovations in the common space. You can easily spend a full day here, so make sure you eat some great sushi at Hanaichi Wintergarden or grab a smoothie from the centre of the mall to sustain you.

Yelp
This is a pedestrian mall, much like any other. It's a street converted into a walkway and nicely done. You will find several eateries and bars here (some open 24 hours) and some good quality stores. It's within easy walk of the central railway station and lots of buses.

Yelp
Indiscriminate shopaholics, busy commuters, label-lovers, bargain hunters, shoplifters. Sooner or later, they all make their way to Queen St Mall. This is Brisbane's shopping Mecca - the place where bargain shops hustle alongside composed designer brands and fast food meets fine dining. Newly fledged Brisbanites and visitors should allow a day to luxuriously explore the mall. For starters there are three main shopping centres. The Myer Centre is a six level giant with Coles Express at the bottom and Birch, Carroll and Coyle cinema at the top. Sandwiched in between is anything and everything from food courts, designer shops, independent labels, homeware, toys and electronics. The Wintergarden is a smaller shopping complex, probably a bit more upmarket than the Myer Centre. In addition to some designer brands on their lower level, their upper level focus on lifestyle and fine dining with a Goodlife Health club, Strike Bowling and restaurants such as Wagamama and Hanaichi Sushi Bar. Queens Plaza is the newest addition to Queen St Mall and is home to the designer brands. This is the place to go to indulge in a party frock or ten. There's Leona Edmiston, Alannah Hill, Review, Saba and Jigsaw just to name a few. In between the three big shopping centres, the mall is dotted with shops, cafes and alleyways. There are also trusty atms spaced conveniently throughout the mall should you run out of money. There is a helpful customer service desk inside the Myer Centre on Level Q but the big Brisbane Visitor Information and Booking Centre is in the middle of the mall, just outside the Wintergarden. There is parking available in the Myer Centre and also in private carparks around the city but bus and train are by far the best options for a day trip to the city.

Yelp
There are malls within malls in Queen street Mall. One doesn't have panic about dodging traffic after all Queen Street Mall is a Mall. Queen Street Mall is a safe place to walk and a great place to catch up with friends for a talk. It's a great place to meet friends hang out and have coffee or just sit and watch or maybe go shopping .There is always something happening in Queen Street Mall.

Samantha W.

Yelp
Use to love the Mall, but these days it has become too dangerous to walk there. Full of people on bicycles and electric scooters going at full speed. Very dangerous. Almost got hit and killed by a speeding bicycle in the Mall twice now. I will never go there again.

Yelp
Queens Street mall is the main shopping area in the heart of the Brisbane Central Business District. No matter what time of the day you go, it's always bustling with people. Except maybe 3am on a weekday. But even then, you might still find people. There's tons of shopping options ranging from boutiques, designers, cheap teen focused stores, brands, department stores and more. There's also lots of different food options for the business work break at lots of different prices. This is a great place to spend a couple hours shopping or eating when you have nothing else to do. Also, there's lots of markets that take place here multiple times throughout each month.

Yelp
always a lot to see and do at the Queen St Mall. If you love shopping then this is the place for you. If you love sitting and having coffee etc with your friends or just people watching then this is the place for you. You can easily spend an entire day looking through the vast array of shops.
