A must stop if you're a Queen fan. There was a ton of memorabilia in a small area, but most fascinating for me was the plaque showing were Freddie Mercury was standing when he recorded his last songs. As a music fan I could feel the energy in the room. It is a free museum, so they could have made it less impressive and I think people would not complain, but it is really well done with their limited space and a worthwhile bucket list item for Queen fans, or just music fans in general. Plus it's a beautiful area and you can see why anyone would like to spend time there. Just to read the history of the band and the building are worth it. IMO, the studio itself is the most amazing thing, this is where the art happened for so many famous songs. If you don't get that maybe you're not the Queen fan you think you are. People complaining about the price? It's free and only asks for donations for the Mercury Phoenix Trust to research AIDS treatment. If the review complains about parking costs, I recommend the Forum Mall less than 5 minutes walk away, or look for the two hour pay parking near the area. If you're parking in the casino and just going to the museum, you might feel you're paying too much.

A wonderful place not only for Queen fans but for any music lover. You can really feel that something magical happened here. My favorite part was the mixing console room, where you can mix Queen songs yourself — such a cool experience! And of course, hand written song lyrics! A big plus is that entry is free. And there were very few people when we visited in the morning. It’s a pity they didn’t sell any Queen merchandise — I was hoping to buy a few interesting items. There was also a pleasant surprise: upstairs there’s a piano, and our son was allowed to play it for a bit — he was thrilled!

Recommended to all music fans! Of course Queen ones will enjoy it even more but still, worth visiting. Interesting memorabilia and the chance to sign the "guest wall". A 10 minute walk from the main station. No entrance fee.

Excellent and very informative tribute to the wonderful band Queen, free entry with opportunity to make donations to the Mercury Phoenix Trust. Very small and quickly filled up, amazing, genuine costumes of the late great Freddie Mercury. You can also leave personal messages as you enter, also: try your hand at mixing the original song mother love on the interactive mixing console.

I stood where Freddie stood recording with the QUEEN their last song so wonderful to be experience that. I tried also mixing a song while recording which is one of the videos that I will show here. Hope you enjoy if you are in Montruex, Switzerland this is a must see. It is inside the Casino.

It’s a must visit for anyone who visits Montreux and is a fan of Queen. There are handwritten lyrics by Freddie and some really cool iconic merch! It is free to enter (no tickets required)

This is a small (but free) museum housed in the Montreux Casino building, telling the story of Queen, who recorded many of their albums in this studio, which they owned for part of their music career. Visit definitely recommended for Queen or Freddie fans (but not only). Visitors even get to "mix" a couple of songs, which I found quite fun. The experience feels very special and intimate, so if you have an hour while in Montreux, give it a go!

Yelp
Small quaint studio full of memorabilia and history of Queen. It was very well done and a nice tribute. Personally, it was surreal being in a space where the late Freddie Mercury once stood and Grace with his presence and creativity.

Yelp
Truly an amazing experience. This exhibit is in the original location of Mountain Studios in Casino Barrièr de Montreux and admission is free. It houses Freddie Mercury's costumes, some handwritten song lyrics, drum set, guitars, and other memorabilia. I've recently learned that Queen had established a studio in Montreux to escape the celebrity life of London. The band recorded seven albums in this studio. Visitors can pick up a pamphlet explaining the studio experience for only 1 CHF/ 1EUR. It's a good momento to have and proceeds help fund the exhibit. There's no time limit to peruse the exhibit and crowds are non-existent (note we did not come during the summer jazz festival). There are three sections to the exhibit: First the recording room with various equipments and actual hand written songs by Freddy Mercury. The second room is main exhibit area showing the costumes, stage display, and other memorabilia. The third room is a small theater showing a brief video about Queen and Freddie Mercury. I highly recommend taking a moment to watch the video.

Yelp
It's free! So if you checked out the Freddie Mercury statue on the waterfront you may as well walk 2 minutes & check out what used to be their recording studio. The casino took it over & obviously much has been remodeled but the studio's control room is in the same spot. Go in the street side entrance of the casino (not the water side) & turn left instead of going down to the gambling area. They have various displays, info, etc. it's worth a look.

Yelp
It's free, it's located in Casino de Montreux, and it's pretty cool. Step into the control room of Mountain Studios and walk basically where legends have walked before you ... AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones, David Bowie, and of course Queen and many others. If the song Smoke on the Water wasn't running through your head already just because of Montreux, now, when you enter the "gambling house", it certainly will be. Of course the old original Neve console is now gone ... and rightly so since such a masterful creation should not be left to amateur twiddlers in a museum ... there is a replica desk that, using a few movable faders, you can "remix" a few Queen songs, and better yet, listen to tracks in isolation. Really nice. Original 2 inch Studer tape machine is still there. Think of the songs that have been run through that. Also enjoy much Queen memorabilia and history of one of the greatest bands ever. Really enjoyable, and humbling to think of the people who have actually worked and walked in that control room. Highly recommend!
