A wonderful free cultural experience. The permanent exhibition: First Tasmanians: Our Story was a stand out. I had recently seen 65,000 Years: A Short History of Australian Art at the Potter Museum of Art at the University of Melbourne, co-curated by Professor Marcia Langton, so I felt primed to see this one. They are good companion exhibitions.
The three temporary exhibitions were also enjoyable, especially sculpture Sam Jinks' Mortal Reflections. It was reminiscent of Patricia Piccini's work but in the realm of hyperrealism.
The staff were very helpful and friendly.
I'll be back the next time I'm in Launie!
