Queen Victoria Hotel

"A design-conscious hotel with 35 rooms in Cape Town’s V&A Waterfront. Royal and sumptuous, with purple accents and monogrammed robes. Guest rooms are decorated in a soothing palette of silver, gray, and taupe. Porcelain-tiled bathrooms have restored antique vanities and original artwork."

It honestly felt like we were staring with family and it was an absolute wrench to leave. Everyone was so friendly and really good at their jobs. Nothing was too much trouble for anyone. Check In was easy and our room was clean and so quiet. A Great nights sleep. Front reception were able to book trips for us. Penguins, Wineland's, Botanic Gardens, Table Mountain and a helicopter flight over the Coast. Camps Bay was a short Uber away and the Waterfront was a gentle 5 minute walk away. The Bar was excellent, good proposals for wine, beer and cocktails. Again with Great Friendly Service. We ate twice at Terrarium, the quality of food and choice of food was exceptional. Service again was exemplary. We did eat out on the waterfront but honestly other came close to the food on offer here. Please note although set menus are to the forefront their A La Carte offer was ideal for us. Highly recommended. Breakfast is in the same area. There is a buffet which has enough but also hot options off the menu. Coffee is freshly made for you and like the rest of the hotel service is fabulous and proactive. Always checking you have enough. This was one of our best experiences ever and it was the Staff that made it so. I do have names but don't like to single them out as it would read like a classroom register. However its a pity only allowed 5* they were so much better than that

We are local and had an incredible weekend for our 13th anniversary at Queen Victoria this weekend. The staff is incredibly competent and friendly. The pool section is wonderful and has great food. But a very special mention to Kim at the spa where I had the best massage I have ever had - she really went the extra mile and it was extremely professional. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

I’m genuinely disappointed with my recent stay at the Queen Victoria Hotel. As a 5-star property, I had high expectations for cleanliness and professionalism, but unfortunately, my experience did not reflect that standard. This was an especially meaningful trip for me and my husband — our honeymoon — and we were looking forward to a memorable, luxurious experience. However, I was shocked to receive a bathrobe that had visible blood stains in two different areas. This is completely unacceptable for any hotel, let alone one of this caliber. I immediately reported the issue to the manager and handed the item to her, expecting that such a serious hygiene concern would be handled with urgency and care. Instead, her only response was, “Sorry, we will exchange it for you.” There was no genuine apology, no follow-up, and no reassurance that the matter would be investigated or prevented in the future. This experience left us extremely disappointed and uncomfortable, especially during what was supposed to be a special and romantic time. I truly hope the management takes this feedback seriously and reevaluates their quality control and service standards — as this experience did not reflect the level of care expected from a 5-star establishment.

My backpack was unzipped and cash stolen while my room was being cleaned. After the hotel performed their "investigation" they determined "no procedure was violated". The bathrooms also have no fans or ventilation. Gross!

Love this hotel. Beautifully appointed rooms, great beds, and tasty breakfast. The service is really top notch. For example, the staff didn't just recommend a place for dinner, they made a reservation and walked us there as well. It's an intimate place, with great views. I fully recommend it!

Beautiful hotel, nice bar and restaurant but greatest asset is the people. My luggage from the US didn’t arrive and the manager and a concierge helped me find the right stores in a nearby mall to buy clothes and other necessities. Thank you!

A fantastic hotel with friendly and helpful staff, offering a delicious breakfast with a stunning Table Mountain view. The modern facilities, efficient and quiet air conditioning, and convenient on-site parking (no reservation needed) add to the comfort. The location is unbeatable, within walking distance of the Waterfront, making it ideal for both tourists and business travelers. While the rooms are slightly smaller than expected for a 5-star hotel, the charm of the historical building compensates for this limitation.
