Queenie's Dumplings Glenorchy

Pretty dang good! Everything was fresh and lots of choices! The ramen was good but the dumplings were better!

Decent fresh homemade dumplings and excellent service from the polite young man taking orders. On 10 Dec 2025, an order of 9 boiled dumplings were $19 and 9 fried were $21. Noodle dishes were $26.50, rice bowl was $23.50.

We ordered the pan-fried chicken and sweetcorn dumplings and the BBQ pork noodle soup, and they were delicious. The noodles were fresh and traditionally made, which made the experience even better. I'll definitely be back. Thank you.

Back in 2023 we randomly drove to Glenorchy and the view was amazing and noticed this little restaurant which had limited menu and everything felt fresh. We specifically drove again this year and it was still the same. Amazing taste. We ordered BBQ pork and rice - very nice but the curry and pieces weren’t enough for the rice. Wonton soup - nice soup. Annnddd dumpling was amazing.

We were very surprised to find a dumpling place in glenochry and it was delicious! We got pork, beef and lamb dumplings all delicious!

I had the pork noodle soup and it was absolutely delicious. The broth was rich and full of flavor, the noodles were perfectly cooked, and the pork was tender and tasty. The portion was generous and very satisfying. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. Definitely a place I would recommend and look forward to visiting again.

Queenie's Dumplings is one of the main reasons I go to Glenorchy. They have the most authentic Chinese dumplings that I've had in the Queenstown Lakes District, and I return over and over again. If you miss good Chinese food at a reasonable price, then make the journey to Glenorchy and have some delicious dumplings! Be sure to plan your trip to Glenorchy around their opening times, or you will be sorely disappointed.

2 of us had fried dumplings and they were delicious. We shared an order of the pork & prawns, and chicken with corn. Served piping hot and fresh. Many people were having soups. Simple restaurant but really tasty. They have indoor and outdoor tables.

While we were in Glenorchy, there were only a few dining options available, so we decided to stop by Queenie's Dumplings since iit was just 30 seconds from the public restrooms. There is a gift shop next door. The menu sign in Chinese characters mentioned handmade dumplings, so I figured, why not give it a try? When we walked in, there were only two staff members and no other customers. I ordered two kinds of boiled dumplings: lamb with carrots, and pork with prawn. My partner had the barbecue pork with noodles, and my friend ordered barbecue pork with rice. Prices were $24.50 for the noodles, $21.50 for the rice, and $19.50 for nine dumplings. Unfortunately, the food was disappointing. The portions were quite small for the price, and the dumplings were all mixed together on the plate, making it impossible to tell which was which. My partner's noodle soup was extremely salty yet bland at the same time. When I asked about the type of noodles, the cashier, who spoke Mandarin told me they were Cantonese egg noodles. Being from Hong Kong and familiar with authentic Cantonese cuisine, I can confidently say they were not egg noodles. Overall, it was a quick stop for something to eat, but given the small portions and lackluster flavors, we ended up heading to Mrs. Woolly's General Store afterward to fill up which was a gem!

This cute little spot right by the river is a ton of value at $17nzd and you can mix and match your flavors. The other person complained you couldn't tell. That's just so minor when you have 6 kinds to choose from and can make any combo you want!!! Post dart boat you can't beat this place! Open till 4pm, they serve grab and go ice cream & drinks too!!

Super delicious dumplings and buns and very friendly staff! And they have plenty of space inside the restaurant for some warmth.

Queenie is 1 of the 4 eateries on this tiny stretch of the street. We came because that rest were either closed or too busy. Well, this hidden gem shouldn't be overlooked. We had a bowl of Wonton noodles and a plate of chicken/corn boiled dumplings. It was a simple, satisfying and relaxing lunch.. thank you...

Got the: 1) Pork & Prawn, 3) Beef & Onion, and 4) Lamb & Carrot dumplings I wish they separated the dumplings by plate so we just played dumpling roulette the whole time. The dumplings were also difficult to grab so we either scooped them up with the soup spoons and/or sadly stabbed the dumplings. Overall, the dumplings were OK. Would I pay $13.5NZD again for 9 dumplings? Probably not.
