I had to go to the city for an appointment, but I decided to make the most of the trip by visiting a museum after. Google told me that the Queensland Holocaust Museum was just around the corner, so off I went. Tucked away off the busy road, the Queensland Holocaust Museum is a true hidden gem. The staff who work here are incredibly passionate, kind and informative. I took my baby girl with me and the staff went out of their way to help me with the elevator and store my pram. Coincidentally, the day of our visit was also the one year celebration since the Museum opened. Holocaust survivor Peter (pictured) was there. We said a brief hello to him which was a special yet humbling experience. While the Museum itself isn't too grand in size, it packs in a lot of information, testimonials, artefacts and video content. The tribute to the children that died in the Holocaust brought me to tears. It was truly beautiful. While the subject of the Holocaust is frankly quite distressing, everything is presented in a tasteful and sensitive way. I honestly think all residents of Brisbane would benefit by visiting this important time capsule of history.

A deeply moving and poignant experience. The immersive experiences provide a visceral perspective on unique, deeply personal histories. The museum gives voices to those millions lost and ensures their memories are never forgotten. Our tour guide was awesome!

Lots of items and media telling several different stories, many of which are specific to Queensland. Sensitive, informative and compassionate. Thank you especially to the very friendly and helpful member of staff who introduced the exhibitions to us :)

Wow, such a humbling experience. What an honour to watch/listen/read the stories of those who suffered through - and even survived - the horror of an unnecessary holocaust against Jewish people. It was emotional, raw, confronting. Such resilience and courage in telling the stories of those who perished and the fortunate survivors. May we never forget them.

This was such a surreal experience. Very well presented with a good layout, personal stories and interesting artefacts. The VR section was very immersive and emotional, truly places you in the midst of it all. I found Robin to be super helpful and informative with a friendly approach. Highly recommend.

That was a truly informative and tragic experience. Thank you for allowing us to share this time. We will never forget.

The Queensland Holocaust Museum is a must see if you are visiting Brisbane's CBD. It tells the story of the persecution of the Jews and other minority groups in the lead up and during WW2. This Museum is a place dedicated to the memory of all those that perished, survived and saved many during the Holocaust. Upon entry we were given the "low down" by a super friendly volunteer on all the info that we needed for our visit. The museum is laid out is an easy follow story line with a number of Discovery Pods where videos (some very emotional) complete the story. Museum volunteers are on hand to help out with any enquirers. 👍Tip: The entry is on the ground floor, the museum on the 1st level which is a flight of stairs down to the museum. A lift is available for easier accessibility. 👍Tip: Check out the video Queensland Holocaust Museum on ROAD TRIP'N Face Book page if you are after a complete tour. This is a "must see" Museum in the heart of the Brisbane CBD. ROAD TRIP'N www.roadtripn.blog
