Queenstown Gateway Apartments

DO NOT BOOK THIS PLACE! I don’t normally leave such review. Just like the other customer, the property manually cancelled our booking 5 days before us arriving without any communication. We tried updating several cards, and those cards are definitely working. The given grace period is 24-hour. But the cancellation happened minutes after we updated our cards. The room is filled right after the cancellation and there’s no availability immediately. They are prioritising some other source of customer, perhaps selling the room at a higher rate they sold in Booking.com.

We stayed in Unit 4 and it was awesome. Such a great location with a beautiful bus ride easily into the city. The apartment was clean and had everything you need. Would definitely stay again.I stayed with a friend but it would be great for a family also.

Absolutely loved my stay! The apartment was spotless, cozy, and had everything I needed. The location is perfect so many restaurants, shops, and transport options just steps away. Felt safe and comfortable the whole time. Can’t wait to come back!

SCAM ALERT! DO NOT BOOK HERE! #invalidcard #cancelled #scam Exactly the same nightmare others have reported. Got a random message claiming my card was “invalid,” and my booking was instantly cancelled without warning. Tried calling, no one answered. When I finally reached ‘Apu’ from ‘The Simpsons’, I basically got brushed off and told to “just email.” It’s shocking this place is still allowed to operate, and even worse that Booking.com keeps listing them despite so many identical complaints. This kind of behaviour is unacceptable — especially for a business in Queenstown. I genuinely hope this operation gets shut down soon. Tourists deserve far better than this scammy nonsense.

This is very dodgy apartment. AVOID AT ALL COST. The apartment is very mouldy. Completely health hazard. We cancelled our stay after checking in and found mould. Demanded a refund but the owner just ignored you. I brought the property to the tribunal court and was rule in my favour but they still refuse to pay and no response. This kind of management just want to take your hard earned money and not responsible. Completely unscrupulous owner.

My guest used a hair dryer and forgot to return it to its place, just left it in the room. 1 hour after check out I received a pretty rude message, without asking first, immediately accused my guest of stealing the hair dryer and said if my guest was from a slum area? and threatened to report it to the police, I called and went back to the hotel but in the middle of the trip then he sent another message that the hair dryer had been found and without saying sorry at all. They sent the apology after I urged the reception to tell the manager who sent the message to apologize to my guest. Really disappointed with the service.

I wish I had read all of these reviews before I booked Gateway Apartments through Booking.com. They kept saying that our card was "invalid". We even tried a second card and that was also deemed "invalid." I emailed multiple times offering to pay over the phone, I also called multiple times and they also would never answer. Our booking was then cancelled just days from when we were due to arrive. I called the phone number multiple times and then they disconnected it. A horrible, stressful experience and I'm amazed they are still allowed to operate given their fraudulent behaviour. I will be alerting Booking.com that they should not have Gateway Apartments on their site - it's an absolute scam.

Do not book here if you want to cook a meal have toilet paper have all rubbish emptied. We just stayed for 5 days. 1 roll of toilet paper for 5 people. In desperate need of repairs.So many rules!!!Would not recommend for anyone.also 1 disgusting old tea towel and a pathetic cloth. Dirty tissues found first day under drawers. Had to tighten all handles on drawers!!
