Same scam as all the other people on here. Booking done through booking.com Credit card supposedly declined and booking cancelled 4 days out from arrival. No reply to calls and emails. Because booking.com only allows reviews when you successfully stay there all the people who get stitched up can't write a review and they maintain a good rating.

Don’t ever book here! Absolute scammers as others have said, booked through booking.com, said could pay at property then tried to charge my card and sent me a messaging saying my booking would be canceled, I messaged they ignored me, then the next day canceled my booking. Won’t answer their phone, won’t respond to message, after they canceled they replied to my second message citing I could pay at the property as said but not on the day of check in only 7 days prior you can pay at the property. What a joke as if I would be in the area of my holiday 7 days before check in, that’s the whole point of a hotel. Left a family in the lurch 24 hours prior to a trip with no accommodation left in town.

This hotel is running a scam. We booked our stay weeks in advance and began receiving emails saying our card information was 'invalid' about a week out. These details were updated several times and the card worked everywhere else; as others have said, we then received an email saying our booking was cancelled and in the ten minutes between them responding to our email, they had already filled our room. Considering our booking was around New Years, I suspect this was done to make more money off last minute bookings. This has led to a huge amount of stress on Christmas Eve, days prior to our booking.

The same credit card issue as in other reviews. The difference is only they were not even picked the phone up and never replied to the email. If it is not a scam supported by managers, then management should have a look into what is going on.

Booking (via booking.com) made several days prior was cancelled the night before we were due to leave. No explanation other than - when pressed - the funds hadn't gone through. After two more attempts with different cards and contacting our bank, we concluded that there was some sort of scam at play which was supported after reading some of the feedback. My partners ask night with her daughter prior to flying out to Australia was ruined by this establishment. Would certainly never ever book there again.

Similar situation to many of the reviews below: - booked in advance - credit cards keep somehow getting declined on their side - called in days ahead to confirm that the booking will be still there, and that we will be paying at reception on the day. - ONLY to find out that the booking was cancelled last minute. This was definitely an annoying stain on what was a lovely trip in New Zealand. I certainly wish I had looked at the reviews sooner, rather than having to spend precious holiday time trying to get into contact with these scammers!

Do not book this place!! Exactly the same bad experience as others who have written reviews. We were told our credit card was invalid (not true) and then that our stay was cancelled. Noone answers the phone and noone replies to emails. We have fortunately found another place to stay at slightly higher cost but grateful to find somewhere 4 days before Xmas. Very stressful and not the kiwi hospitality that we would expect. Booking.com should do something about this.

I wish I’d read the reviews before booking here.! Shocking experience, Do Not Book Gateway|Less than a week out of our arrival booked accommodation for 7 people, I was sent an email saying credit card invalid, which it is not. Then they cancelled!😡. Bookin.com tried to help but no response to them via phone, an email sent by booking .com and myself. . No response til 12 hrs after the cancellation. Rude short response just saying fully booked . |This place had over booked and we were left without accomodation. |I was lucky to get another booking with great friendly apartments who even answer their phone. And I used same credit card which worked. |Do Not Book Gateway
