We actually stumbled upon this unsuspecting little coffee shop while on the way to another cafe…and we were so happy we did! We loved it so much we came here every morning for our short stay in CDMX, and never even made it to the original coffee shop we aimed to go to.
The drinks were great, made with beans from Oaxaca. We got lattes and americanos, which were well-balanced and consistent. There are a few tables outside to enjoy in a mug, but we got it to-go given the spot’s small footprint.
What stood out the most to us, though, were the pastries. We weren’t expecting much from the small display counter, but we had multiple pastries over several days that were all sleeper hits. The croissants were crispy and flaky on the outside yet fluffy on the inside. We got one with almond filling, and another with apple filling. These two were absolutely on point with delicious, fresh flavor without being too sweet. The dulce de leche cookie was also perfectly crispy on the outside but soft inside.
Don’t judge a book by its cover, or a cafe by its facade. Despite its unsuspecting size, Quentin Cafe is a go-to morning stop!
