When arriving to the room, the bathroom had not been cleaned after the previous occupant. There was pee stains all over the toilet seat, the wall and the floor next to the toilet. There was also staining under the rim of the bowl, chewing gum in the bathroom bin, and white staining/watermarks on the shower floor. When I went down to reception to ask them to send someone to clean it, they were apologetic, however only the toilet seat (where the obvious pee staining was) was cleaned, not the rest of the issues. As this cleaning happened when I was out and I came back after hours, there was no one available to ask to either clean the mess properly or provide adequate cleaning supplies. Because of this, I had to clean the mess myself so that it was somewhat sanitary using only antibacterial wipes I had with me. Additionally, the other bathroom also had stains under the rim of the bowl, there was stains on the curtains, pillows and couches, and there was a hole in the bedroom wall filled in with what looked like toilet paper. As an apology for the state of the bathroom, the reception staff left 2 cans of soft drink in the room, which, while appreciated in sentiment, is not an appropriate apology for the unsanitary conditions of the room, considering it was not cleaned properly the first time, or when I complained. In addition to this, there was staining on the linens, holes in the wall filled with what looked like tissues, the bed lacked support and needed to be replaced, the bathroom fan was broken, the light switch had a significant gap around it, and the room had an unpleasant odor, which upon examination of the rest of the apartment, may have been due to the unsanitary state of the bathrooms. Photos attached to the review do not include the condition of the toilet/shower as no one needs to be exposed to that. The best part of my stay was checking out to go home.

We enjoyed our short stay at Quest Canberra! The room was spacious and comfortable, the staff were very very friendly and more than happy to help with any of our needs! It’s a great location close to restaurants, cafes and shops. Only complaint was that our shower did over flow, water pressure and temperature was perfect but the seal of the glass let water out the sides and the floor mat was drowning even after a quick shower. Over all we enjoyed our stay in Canberra!

Reading some of the glowing reviews makes me think that they were staying in a different hotel. To begin with, major roadworks outside this hotel in West Row were a real inconvenience. One-way traffic and diversions make the hotel very difficult to drive to. The car park was in a small lane behind the hotel. After you pay your $20 you get a little key that unlocks a collapsible in-road barrier in your parking space that is frankly difficult to use. You have to lock it when you leave and unlock it when you arrive. The carpark area is also where the staff from nearby restaurants have their smoko, so can get a bit smoky. My studio room was small and overlooked the roofs of nearby buildings. The bathroom was nicely renovated, but though there was some effort to modernize the room, the overall effect felt cheap. The lift shuddered every time you use it. I've stayed in other Quest hotels but wouldn't recommend this one.

Very outdated AC units. Coolant stain running down the wall. Advertise parking but don't advise booking required. Light rail construction everywhere should be noted on any adds. Rooms dirty, needs a thorough clean.

I had a fantastic experience. The location is perfect---right in the heart of the city, close to restaurants (e.g. Mama’s Trattoria, Italian Briscola, and PJs for some fun at night), shops (e.g. marts, chemist, and café), and public transport (e.g. a min walk to bus stops and the hotel can get us a cab within minutes upon a request). The room was clean, spacious, and well-equipped (as they even have a coffee machine with free pods and milk), with everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout. It’s a great option for both business and leisure. Highly recommend!

We arrived, couldn't check in until late because they were "busy" and room wouldn't be ready. So went to office and worked, came back later. That was inconvenient, but fine, we let it be. We extended another night, then they wanted us to check out, leave come back again, re-check in, take a different room... just caused a huge amount of hassle for absolutely no reason. Alternatively, they wanted us to pay another $50 to not have to do that, so basically just an attempt at extorting money, knowing the level of hassle they would otherwise be causing us. Instead, we cancelled our booking, re-booked online at a cheaper rate for exactly the same room. Guess we'll see what happens tomorrow if they try to muck us around further. Just extremly poor customer service. Overtly aiming to be inconvenient and unhelpful. Ridiculous. Not recommended under any circumstance. Stay at Novotel, QT, or many manyvither comparable and better options instead
