From start to finish, sadly a very disappointing stay.
Having booked and paid through Airbnb, at check-in, staff had absolutely no idea how we had booked that way, and just kept directing us to an iPad rather than actually being able to help check-in, as the manager was apparently needed for airbnb check-in.
The room was fine, majorly clean minus some long black hairs. Appreciate an iron being available.
There was a fire evacuation in the morning, which saw zero staff interaction with customers. Once the all clear was given, staff said “you can go back now” and disappeared. We then went up 6 flights of stairs, for the fire doors to be LOCKED. we went back down to the lifts thankfully being re-available. Upon checkout, after asking, we were informed the alarm was staff error in the laundry room “not a big deal” as the receptionist stated.
10 minutes after we left, our card was charged again! We had to go back to resolve this, when the girl on reception couldn’t actually refund us and again needed her manager.
I’ll be honest, if your staff cannot do their jobs without their manager, they need more training. I felt bad for the single person on the front desk who was surely overwhelmed. And with the fire alarm ruining our stay, and being staff error, we would really expect a full or partial refund for our one-night stay.
