"No trip to Australia is complete without a visit to the awe-inspiring Great Barrier Reef. And while there are numerous ways to see the colorful coral, one of the best options for kids is from an activity platform. Hop aboard Quicksilver Cruises and travel to the Agincourt Reefs where kids will be able to snorkel (there's small snorkels and masks for toddlers) from a submerged platform that helps them get into the water. If your child can't swim — or has had enough — there's an underwater observatory where they can watch the fish without needing to get in the water. The company also has a submarine that ventures out to the reef's lagoons for extra viewing opportunities." - Travel + Leisure Editors

What an amazing experience. Suprisingly affordable. Spacious and magnificent boat. Friendly and helpful crew and staff, well organised day tour, delicious, abundant and appropriate food, fantastic facilities. It was one of the best days of my life and one of the most memorable family experiences ever. Thank you, Quicksilver, your charter was the highlight of our holiday.

Had an amazing time on Port Douglas’s famous Quicksilver Catamaran ride to the breathtaking Agincourt Ribbon Reefs in the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. 🌊🐠✨ The glass bottom boat was a highlight—equipped with air conditioning and side-viewing glasses, it was far more comfortable than the one at Kabira Bay in Ishigaki. The fish feeding activity was interesting; I wish I could hear all the words… They provided all the snorkeling equipment: fins, goggles, Lycra suits and solution spray to keep my goggle clear👍👍👍 The snorkeling platform was perfect for beginners, with lifeguards keeping a close watch 🙏. In addition to life vests, they also provided noodles for extra support 😄🙏. Highly recommend this tour company! The buffet lunch was delicious, and our vegetarian friends were thrilled with the options. The only downside was the return trip—unfortunately, the air conditioning failed, leaving us to endure over an hour in the humid heat😳🙃 Overall, a fantastic experience!

Booked a cruise to The Low Isles, on Red Ballon. This was the best experience we had in Far North Queensland. Would highly highly recommend this touring company. The crew were great and the boat very comfortable. And food supplied was great. The snorkelling with a marine biologist was so educational and fun. We saw so many fish, turtles and coral. This was great for people with all swimming abilities as they offered life guards and life jackets. The glass bottom boat was so good and a great way to see the reef without getting wet. We unfortunately had a very rough ride out to the Isles but the crew were very supportive of everyone and had great remedies for sea sickness.

We stayed in downtown Pt. Douglas so we walked to the terminal. Terminal had a huge car park and a chartered bus to pick up passengers from Cairns. Since it was towards the end of the school holiday in July, I was told there were 400 passengers when we went. Note to parents: Definitely have your kids take Dramamine or any anti-sickness pills before boarding so that they can be prepared in the event it's rough out in sea! We encountered so many poor kids hurling during the 1.5 hrs journey to Agincourt Reef where the platform is. I felt bad for them due to lack of planning on the parents..... This was a well-oiled operation where they start setting up buffet, have wet suits, goggles and snorkels ready to be passed out when we arrive. So much activities to do but I spent too much time snorkeling so was bummed I didn't get to experience the submarine ride. They made sure no one was left behind when we departed and took counts with a clicker. One of the staff kept getting it wrong multiple times and had someone else take over - we had a good laugh. Make sure to queue up early if you want to rent an underwater camera since they sold out pretty quick. The experience was surreal seeing fluorescent colored fish, sea anemone and corals which you might see on NatGeo!

ProTip: bring your own mask, pack a UPF swim shirt and an underwater camera. Cruise was great. Boat ride was very easy and family friendly (a lot easier than I thought actually). Food was good but the place turned into a mad house when we got to the station in the ocean. Families rushed to grab tables and crowded the snorkeling area. If you can afford doing the helicopter tour, do it! It's really worth it. The underwater tunnel is a bit underwhelming but apart from that, I'm really happy we did this once! === Details behind the pro-tip. They will give you the gear to snorkel when you get there BUT if you want to stay a long time and be comfortable, bring your own stuff. Bring a UPF swim shirt and an underwater camera. They don't sell shirts at any of the shops (a major oversight in my opinion!) and if you decide you want to get an underwater camera or a pouch, they are overpriced on the boat and at bay.

Important stuff - avoid the scuba dive, like it’s ’the plague’ — you literally dive of the pontoon reach the floor 10m below and circle around looking at something which looks like corals! Really. And before you dive there is 30 minute talk which never ends. - do the free snorkelling- it’s nice explore the whole area. - the submerged glass cabin- is to be avoided- nothing to see and the whole experience is suffocating. - also why are they feeding the fishes?? Does anybody else finds this to be odd? Overall - if you have a family and want to make a day of it, book this. - the fact that y they have a pontoon makes it easier for those who just want hang out at the Agincourt reef. Tip - take Your Phone for underwater pictures while snorkelling. Good easy.

Great boat trip! Was amazing and highly recommend! Scuba diving & snorkelling was both unbelievable so is great for everyone and the food was super yummy. We were on the silver sonic calypso and would definitely go again! Photos were abit pricy but overall it has been the highlight of our trip.

Yelp
I had a great time on the Quicksliver "Supersonic" tour. They brought us to 3 different reef sights. The staff was pretty knowledgeable (Ask for Robbie) The boat was a good size and the food was surprisingly edible. The boat was much smaller than the single sight tour but the crew made up for it in enthusiasm and service. I would definitely recommend the supersonic over their other tours if you're ONLY SNORKELING. I guess 3-4 hrs at one sight could be a little boring if you're SNORKELING but if you're a scuba diver the other single sight tour could be a better match for you. The staff was very good about finding the people who were getting seasick and helping them feel more comfortable. (Dramamine and ice chips) Bring a jacket or sweater if the weather is under 21* Celsius, because it was pretty cold when going 20knots on the water. But don't take my word for it! Try it out!
