Quiet Village is a wonderful little hidden gem nestled away in Okayama. This restaurant only seats about 10 or so people so there may be a short wait in peak times. There is a fully english menu and items are explained well with regards to dietary requirements. The currys are delightful - spiced in a rather non traditional Japanese curry style whilst retaining the best parts of the cuisine. The menu itself will tell you that these aren't spicy hot curry, so they offer extra heat in the form of chili powder on the table. The tumeric rice is adorned with various pickles and accompaniments that complement the dish perfectly. I highly recommend trying the Okayama peach chutney as it's sweetness pairs wonderfully with the spices in the curry. Chai tea is served at the end of each meal and it is beautifully spiced. Overall, Quiet Village is a great spot for a quick lunch or an intimate date, as the cosy atmosphere of the cafe lives up to its namesake.

Came here looking for vegan food. We ordered one vegan daal and one vegetarian curry. The rice is delicious, the daal is made with tomato sauce, the veggies are a little crunchy and very fresh. I enjoyed it very much! The vegetarian curry looked amazing with many fresh veggies on top. The price is good and the calm atmosphere is very relaxing. The cooks and waitress are nice and welcoming and you can see they enjoy what they do. We had to wait a little before being seated, so if you come during lunch they can get busy. But for sure worth the wait!

It's a very popular little place, with a queue outside, and you can understand why. The service is lovely and the food is delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch here, and it was well worth the 15 minute wait.

I’m not sure I like the curry with a bit sour taste. Chicken curry with 2 pcs of chicken is a bit small portion.

This lovely little shop is cosy atmosphere, and curry is so delicious. English (Chinese, Korean) menu available. Also, suitable for vegetarians or vegan. If you go to Setouchi triennial, you must go this shop. It’s located around Okayama castle, Korakuen garden and any museums, so you can feel local Japanese culture in this area.
