After arriving in the coffee triangle 6 months ago I have finally made it to the botanical garden. What an amazing place. There were many photographic opportunities. The beautiful plants, birds, hummingbirds and butterflies offered an exciting visit. You are provided a guide that takes you through the gardens and explains everything in detail. I was lucky enough to have Dora assigned as the guide to my group. She is well informed, professional and speaks really good english. It is a bit of a walk and some of it is up and down hills across hanging bridges and such, but if this suits you, you will get to experience several different areas each containg different diverse habitats. You will get to see exotic birds from a little enclosed viewing area. Unfortunately you are seperated from the birds by large windows, but it is really pretty to see. There are also two hummingbird areas with feeders with lots of hummingbirds and a big tented area for the butterflies. It was a great tour and a great day. I cant wait to return. I hope Dora will be assigned to my group again.

Exceptional plant collection amongst walking trails. There’s some nice architectural elements too, and a couple places to watch bird life and butterflies. Note they only have guided tours.

Juan was an excellent guide. He explained a lot about the animals and plants in the park. The scenery is stunning and has some fun elements with bridge crossings and a high floor look out. The butterfly garden was also amazing with different varieties and tortoises. The tour took 2 hours.

Bit pricy with 66.000 Pesos per Person. Guided walking tour starts strong but is far too long with 3h and 2h would be more than enough. Also no English tour available. + nice walk through mini jungle + jungle bridge + jungle mirador + Even with wheel chair or buggy accessible - too big groups (~20 people) maked it hard to see animals - bit pricey - too long - too much Information about tunnels and insects - not enough Information about flowers, mainly about trees - due to being half open, mariposario is not really showing a lot of butterflies when it is raining

It was a good place to be close to nature, we saw a lot of butterflies and learned about different tree species, they have bird watching spots but during our walk we also saw an owl 🦉

Nice tour through the forest. I was expecting a bit more butterflies but they were still beautiful.

I absolutely enjoyed my visit to the Garden. I did not expect the additional information and display of the tunel system. My guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. I was able to learn about many trees, palms and local animals. The butterflies were beautiful.

I was surprised as I wasn’t that excited to go but ended up having a really nice experience. Our Guide Santiago was very informative and took a lot of time to explain everything. We actually went on a day that had about 50 school kids and it was so much fun to see the wonderment in their faces.
