The 8 Best Hot Springs Hotels in the U.S. - AFAR

"A family-friendly Montana riverside resort founded in the late 19th century that offers multiple thermal pools (about 100–106°F), a 55°F cold plunge, and salt-treated pools held between 90 and 100°F; the springs contain minerals such as calcium, fluoride, sodium, and sulfate that are traditionally associated with various health benefits. Overnight options include two lodges and roughly 25 cabins along the canyon and river, and on-site dining ranges from a full-service restaurant to a casual tavern. The property’s setting along the Clark Fork River and proximity to winter scenery make it appealing year-round, and offerings are tailored to families as well as couples seeking restorative soaking." - Michelle Baran

Had a really fun and relaxing experience, just wish the price for cabins would be a little cheaper. Very friendly in the lobby and restaurant and tavern. Room was okay, but not quite worth the amount we had to pay, but I guess if the hot springs were included in the price that is acceptable. Still glad we went and most definitely will go back, even if we have to save our money because the hot springs were so relaxing!

Google
Our good friends brought us here for lunch. It was our first time, they stay here a few times a year and love it. My husband and I shared a Buffalo burger. The packets of mayo was spoiled and one was watery. The burger was really good though. We will definitely go back.

Quinn's Hot Springs Resort is a truly wonderful place to relax and slow down. We visited during the fall, and the weather was perfect: cool and crisp at night, warming up beautifully during the day.||||We stayed in one of the cabins on the river, and the views were spectacular. We had a great vantage point to see the beautiful fall foliage, spot local wildlife, and watch the occasional train go by.||||The entire resort fosters a peaceful atmosphere, making it a perfect getaway to recharge.

We rented the Ponderosa cabin last weekend and all 4 of us thought it wasn't very clean, especially the floors and back deck. The rugs are old and dinghy, floors obviously hadn't been mopped recently, the back deck was very dusty with cobwebs. The windows in the bedroom could not be opened, handles broken. Yes, they're older cabins but could be maintained better. All else was great, the hot springs were very relaxing, and our dinners were wonderful.

Google
Great location and nice hot spring spa. Staff are friendly but not genuine. They are definitely catering to the out of staters who for the most part like phony! We have stayed at several of the in state resorts like Quinns and this is a good one. Food is marginal and lodging is sufficient. Overall nothing here is remarkable. .

Google
I loved staying here. What a unique Montana experience! I could spend all day in the soaking pools, but it was also fun to explore the area. Enjoyed paddle boarding and exploring during the day and relaxing at night in the hot springs pools. All the staff were great, hot springs area and locker rooms were well attended to and clean. Would love to come back again!

Google
Had a great time! Only complaint would be the one shot per drink and 2 drinks per person at the hot springs bar. Great food- fun ambiance. You can wear your robes in the tavern and outside walking to your cabins. We stayed in the adults only riverside lodge and our room was excellent. 215 is on the end and has great riverside views and a huge room with jacuzzi tub. The employees were kind and service was great. Also- the room had half and half cups instead of powdered packets which we appreciated plus a French press with water heater.

Google
Fantastic place. I've never been here before and it was really nice and had a great time. The bar and restaurant was awesome as well with wonderful cheerful people working within the entire place from the front desk at check-in to the food to the housekeeping service. Couldn't ask for better. There are so many different hot springs in pools to explore for different temperatures and found a few that was perfect for me. I've heard it's been very crowded there but I guess I got lucky because it wasn't crowded at all. Go on a Monday or Tuesday. It was great.

Yelp
They say they give vouchers in the event of inclement weather, but that's a lie. None was ever offered. No refund. No nothing. I guess they can get away with abusing locals like that! I've been to dozens of hot springs, resorts etc. Although this place is fancy and filled with tourists, they are heartless and greedy. They do not care that their customers have a good experience. Maybe instead of taking people's money and not giving them the experience they expected, when you shut down, you could instead offer them a complimentary beverage or something to appease people. You know, be hospitable. Not take their money and tell them to take a hike when they ask for a credit, return, coupling, anything. It's the principle, not the money. Get it? Quinn's management doesn't think long term, appreciating locals who have the power to refer others...or not, or worse yet broadcast their failings. They underestimate the power of word of mouth. They don't care that they have high turn-over as employees who aren't happy there either. They don't care. They have enough out of town business to just rifle through people. I wonder if they even get repeat business? This place took my money, did not give me the product I paid for, offered no refund, no credit, no voucher, and embarrassed me and and my guest---who now thinks Americans are inhospitable. She literally thinks people here hated her. "Hated her" were her exact words. Quinn's has no idea how far reaching their "money-first" "hospitality last" attitude goes. So now, I don't want their voucher, or their credit because I never plan on going there ever again, nor will I recommend their busy to friends, family, out-of-towners, or in my last case, international guests. They are a poor reflection of American hospitality. Any other business would apologize for taking your money and giving you nothing in return. Because I think that's called....theft. Boycott Quinn's!

Yelp
It's been since 2017... & I am back (wish my wife an kids were here) .. Came up to see my brother and hear some amazing music from the baroque era. Always top notch service an accommodations. Quinn's is like no other. A truly magical, majestic, luxurious experience here. It's really Heaven on earth. Many options for the whole family or Ohana! Lots of love and Aloha up here.

Yelp
We used to eat at the restaurant and pub here. But NO MORE. The quality of their food has gone downhill. Burgers are now crusty burnt hockey puck, drinks are weaker, quality is down overall. In today's economy, we won't spend our money here again. Lost these three customers of over 5 years!

Yelp
Oh my. So enjoyable. Book far in advance and enjoy. The new pools are very well designed and beautiful hardscaping. Good people, good food, and great time.

Reanaa B.

Yelp
The location is stunning, the pools are lovely. But our room was around $400 for the night plus another couple hundred for mediocre food and drinks. So $600 bucks for two people for one night and we couldn't check even in until 4pm and had to be out by 11am. That one detail sticks in my craw. I know they are booked up enough to not care about the loss of one customer, but I've been going since the 1960's and I won't be back. Greedy.
google avatar

Nina C.

Yelp
Love the pools, the revamped Quinn's is awesome! The poolside bar even serves yummy mocktails! Loved going for a day soak, just remember to BYOT! Being your own towel!

Brian M.

Yelp
Comfort meet nature. Amazing Great all the way around. The Beautiful scenery Amazing new hot springs pools, OMG the food So Great. Relaxing Comfortable Rooms. This is where you come to eat like a king and relax away because this place truly is in paradise

Yelp
Oh my gosh have you ever wanted a relaxing fun filled weekend? We booked our stay here because we got a gift certificate for here and decided to use it!! Why it took so long? Well they're booked pretty far out. We got a cabin that was roomy, clean and comfortable. They supply robes to wander down to the hot springs and that's a plus. The changing rooms/showers were immaculate and very big with lockers. They require you to shower before going in the pools. They have an assortment of different temperature pools and one at 55° woo. We chose the hottest at first only to dip in the cold one and go to a cooler pool. They're cement with the spring coming up from below. People don't realize that hot springs have an odor but actually it wasn't as strong as others I've been to. Great bar, you can grab a beverage and sit in the pools. I just wish they had poolside service as you have to get out to get your drinks. The restaurant on site is 5 star I'll write that review. We booked again and decided that this will be definitely an annual trip if not more. The pools are hot so I'm assuming fall/winter are best to go. If you don't want to stay you can just get a 4 hour soak!!

Yelp
Beautiful, peaceful, the owner is the nicest person you'll ever meet. Clean. I have a bad back and the beds are so comfortable. But nothing compares to looking at the stars at night with nothing around, absolutely stunning

Jody S.

Yelp
this is a suggestion to the chef on the Prime Rib Beef dip sandwich: add more prime rib beef in the hoagie roll because 2 short, thin beef pieces is not enough beef. Otherwise, the flavors were very good!
google avatar

Yelp
Honestly I have no clue how this place doesn't have 5 stars as it was the nicest hot springs I've ever been to. I've only been to 3 (all in the past 18 months, Belknap in Oregon and Sol Duc in Washington) so I have a lot more hot springs to experience but after this experience this is the current gold standard. They have 7 different mineral pools of varying temperatures and it is nice to be able to cool off or reheat yourself by moving from pool to pool. They have a bar that is attached for you to get drinks at while you soak and the staff is extremely friendly. The locker rooms are also massive and have nice showers. The hot springs also were not too crowded which was a huge bonus as it stinks when you don't even have space to move around. We stayed here for one night after a fun trip to Glacier and it was the perfect, relaxing ending note. Our room was super close to the hot springs as well so it was very easy to just walk out and relax in the mineral pools. The restaurant was also good which I was worried wouldn't be the case but luckily it was. The biggest con is that it is 6.5 hours away from me but I do plan on returning as I really enjoyed my stay here.

Yelp
The pools and employees were amazing! The food and service were good! The tavern didn't have any music and it really wasn't a tavern, there were families eating in there with small children, no music and it was hard to sit and enjoy my drink. Also, we stayed in the new river lodge and I could sleep at all because the walls were so thin that I could hear the man next door coughing and their tv was loud and on all night and the heater was so loud we had to unplug it!

Yelp
Quinn's far exceeded our expectations. Every employee had an outstanding attitude. The food at all meals was exceptional. The hot springs were clean, well-maintained, and most enjoyable. My wife and I have already recommended Quinn's to our best friends.
google avatar

Darron N.

Yelp
Quinn's hot springs has a fantastic atmosphere from check in to checkout, the staff is well trained and prepared for all guest services. The hot springs are clean and each pool has the temperature and pH listed. The locker rooms are modern and body wash and shampoo are provided in each shower. The bar is low key and they have a few gambling games as well as billiards in the back corner. The dining room offers top notch steaks and a vast wine selection in an elegant setting that can't be beat. All of this is offered at a reasonable price especially considering the location.
google avatar

Yelp
the great outdoor pools (not overcrowded even though it was booked) were wonderful. Slept so good each night. the restaurant was a great experience. Had the ribeye, beet salad and Brussels sprout the first night. Our friends and family raved about the Brussels, even those who thought they didn't like Brussels! So did I. Then I had the PEPPERED BISON TENDERLOIN LINGUINI, WOW!!! I shared but didn't want to!! So good I licked the plate! Breakfast was excellent too! Made for a great experience for us. The staff were very accommodating.

Yelp
I booked 3 days, two nights for my husband and myself before Christmas (Dec 12-14) wanting to have a romantic getaway without the kiddo as his Christmas present from me. I thought the quality time, snowy atmosphere and cozy cabin in the woods vibe with the springs would be unbeatable, especially since it's only a 2.5 hour drive from where we live in Idaho. We were truly let down by this experience. I didn't find any of the check in/front desk staff very friendly or like they cared about the guests' experiences. The pool staff deserve 5 stars for being awesome, friendly rockstars though. We checked into our cabin and were shocked at how thin the walls are and that they cabins have shared walls in the first place. NOT romantic in the least when you hear a screaming kid next door for 2 hours straight from 9:30pm-11:30pm. We ended up leaving a message with the front desk who never returned our call or addressed our concerns, ever. We actually went to the front to see if we could be moved the following morning but they told us the other guests were checking out that day so we decided to stay in our Elk A cabin after all. You can literally hear your neighbors walk around and slam their doors though, it's truly not a cozy private cabin experience when you hear everything your neighbor does. The front desk guy didn't seem to give a crap or offer anything, not even a "oh man, sorry to hear that" no empathy, nothing... could care less. We grabbed some playing cards from the front and spent our time playing cards in the Tavern at meals (the restaurants and their staff are amazing but they will go on their own reviews) and avoiding our cabin as much as possible because of the noise from our neighbors. We were quite surprised at the price of the standard cabins to not have robes be included and not to have someone suggest to bring our own either. I found it super tacky to expect people to buy theirs or rent theirs or however that worked vs prepare people ahead of time in an email or over the phone when I booked it. They didn't even tell us at check in, we had to ask the pool staff where the robes came from. I just find the lack of communication rude or maybe they assume everyone is a returning customer and knows how this works, but this was our very first ever hot springs experience so we had no idea how to best do this. The pools are smelly, I'm sure that's just the natural smell of the springs but it's not pleasant. The one shower I attempted to take ran out of hot water by the time I had shampoo in my hair. Apparently you also share your hot water allot-age with your neighbor and when there's a lot of them, you're beat on that too... I wouldn't return here. We found ways to enjoy our time together anyway but it definitely was not the romantic getaway I was intending it to be.

Yelp
This was by far the best hot spring resort I have ever soaked in. It felt very upscale but also casual enough for a beach bum like me. They offer day soaks and are $18 per person. But like I said, upscale! You get a free locker included and access to all the pools. All the pools are different temps and they monitor them throughout the day. There is a restaurant and tavern on site. I had a cocktail from the tavern and you can bring it into the pool with you while you soak. Very relaxing! The pools were large, clean and hot! The staff is very attentive and kind. They also offer free WiFi! It's easy to find and parking is abundant! Must do in Montana!!! Pros: clean, large pools, great staff, good value, on-site food and booze Cons: for some the price may be too steep, no outside food or drink, and you have to buy tickets to select soak times ( no all day soaking )
google avatar

Jennifer G.

Yelp
Beautiful setting, pleasant staff and clean facilities! We spent a glorious 4 hours soaking and chatting while the weather was sunny, rainy, warm and cool. Lovely day and beautiful spot!

Collin V.

Yelp
Always a very pleasant experience! Only a minor hiccup with the heat in the cabin, and an issue being ID'd at the bar while in the hot springs (I'm 35). While the others guests around us were not ID and served, they even looked at us and ask why they were not ID'd? Generally while being there for three days with a reservation we don't run into this issue, however the bartender did not ID anyone else and we had not even had a drink yet. Very discriminatory in the ID process which was frustrating. Quinn's - can you put the ID of the guests on the reservation so the wristband counts as ID? We were not told about their being 21+ wrist bands, can the front desk cover this upon check in?

Yelp
Violent food poisoning. We planned our trip 6 months in advance, but could never procure a room. We didn't let that deter our desire to visit Quinn as our first stop on our hot springs hop, and kept an eye out for day use passes. We checked every Wednesday morning for the promised day use passes, never to see them available. We still didn't let that deter us from wanting to visit the Hardwood House and anticipated an outstanding meal for months. The meal was delicious and perfectly portioned. What we were not prepared for was 3 out of 4 of us waking up at 4am to the most violent food poisoning we have ever experienced. We were so ill we had to cancel our next nights stay at Lolo (taking a loss on the money spent on the rooms) and pay for an additional night at our VRBO. When we called Quinn to report the food poisoning there was no apology and no offer of compensation (for a very expensive meal). There was only a comment that "we'll add you to the log we keep". We sent an email and it has gone unanswered. I would not recommend visiting Quinn until the Health Department makes multiple visits.

Susanna S.

Yelp
Had a great time at this resort. Cabin was clean, staff was friendly, food was fantastic. Would definitely visit again.

Yelp
No idea where the lower ratings come from - unless from years past! With redesigned pools and a whole new, spacious locker room - complete with swimwear spinners, restrooms, changing stalls, showers (with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash), lit vanities, modern lockers which lock and unlock with your hot springs wrist band, fresh towels, complimentary water - and a nearby tavern to boot!! All surrounded by Montana mountain-views...I see nothing lacking here and nothing but the best of vibes to be had! Food can be consumed in the poolside seating areas and drinks can be taken to the hot springs - kept conveniently within arms reach. We couldn't have asked for a better activity to top off our birthday trip to Montana! I so much appreciate the recommendation of a Montana friend to book a session here and am grateful to have snagged two spots for the morning session (9am-2pm). We can now be merrily on our way - healed, relaxed, with new friends and great memories in tow!

Yelp
I'm wondering if this is under new ownership, possibly a PE (private equity) Group? Tavern food before check-in was okay but not great. Drinks were good (kudos to bartender). Pools are full of bugs, small debris. Our room is amazing with a great view overlooking the river however. We love this place but please keep these pools cleaner.

Peggy K.

Yelp
Absolutely loved it! Even the dressing room was wonderful. We enjoyed dinner there and our accommodations at Quinn's resort.

Yelp
I can't say enough good things about Quinn's. This place is really spectacular, every aspect of it and the staff is wonderful. Every time I go here they have gone out of their way to provide amazing service (and they always remember my name!) over the summer I stayed here three times, I had family and friends visiting and there's just nowhere better to take folks. The food in the restaurant is top notch! Highly recommend the steaks. The accommodations are comfortable and quiet, a truly peaceful experience. The pools are the best in Montana. When you are at Quinn's it's hard not to feel as though you are in the lap of luxury. We probably went twice a month just to soak in the pools. There's no better sleep than after a day at the hot springs and it makes your skin feel so smooth! We just moved to Florida and seeing Quinn's on my Yelp check in history drew a long wistful sight from me. I sure do miss Montana, and I really, really miss having access to this wonderful place. A real gem, not to be missed.

Nancy S.

Yelp
We just came back from a relaxing visit to Quinn's Hot Springs. We had a beautiful room with robes, wine & munchies overlooking the river. Sitting out on our balcony, you could feel the stress of everyday living just slipping away. We had a delicious dinner in the tavern & a yummy breakfast the next morning in the Harwood House Restaurant. The staff are all so friendly & accommodating. The whole facility is clean & A+. We have been going to Quinn's long before their upgrades & cannot give them enough kudos for their vision. Continued success.

Yelp
EXCELLENT experience! We drove though and I wanted my hubby to experience a "hot spring." While there are no towns / cities close and this may be out of ones way but WORTH IT. We stayed in the lodge across the street from the spring. Not a big deal the resort is on "both sides of the street." Funny side note... I recognized Curtis working by the pool area. I've never been to Montana in my life and here is guy I met from a class in 2019 in Vegas. You just never know when you are going to bump into people you know. It was a pleasant surprise. In addition, we had a flat tire with our rental car. While the rental company refused to help, Thrifty, It wasn't a problem for Quinns! Their maintenance team took care of us and sent us to the closest town (12 miles down the road) where we were treated like a local! $20 to fix and off we went. We will be back!!! Our only regret is we spent only one night. The grounds were beautiful and they have everything one needs. It's a true get away.

Robert M.

Yelp
Beautiful location and wonderful lodging. Went here for our anniversary, stayed in the Riverfront lodge. Real nice over looking the river. Pools were great, clean, warm and it was nice to be able to go back to the bar and bring drinks back to the pool. Staff were all first rate, friendly and helpful. The bad part. The restaurant is very nice inside, service was great, but the food is just average. We had prime rib and the ribeye steak, both were thin, not very flavorful. The side dishes were also kind of plain. The good is not bad, but I can get a much better steak in Thompson Falls up the road for half the price. Breakfast was kind of the same, good but bland. Nice menu just need to get a chef that can put a bit of effort into the food.

Yelp
I'm handing Quinn's 4 stars (vice 3) because of their anticipated hot springs addition - it really looks fantastic. On that note, it's needed - the current construct of the hot springs themselves come across as dated with lots sharp angles, concrete everything, and lack of anything aesthetically pleasing. I do appreciate that they closed the hot springs off to non-hotel guests but, even at that point, they still did fill up. I'm interested to know how crowded it gets when that restriction isn't in place? The room (in the lodge) was serviceable but had a few issues. The hairdryer nearly caught fire (started smoking), one of the outlets was broke, and another outlet on one of the bedsides was poorly positioned behind the bedpost thereby rending it useless. Not huge deals by any means. I was able to get some nice overhead footage of the area with a drone and I included the pictures to the review.

Robyn A.

Yelp
I absolutely love this place and the employees are fantastic. The cabins are gorgeous and the property and pools are incredible! This weekend however, there was an incredibly loud and obnoxious group that treated the pools like a frat party. I was thoroughly disappointed that they were not asked to quiet down and be respectful of everyone else here. I spoke with several other guests who were annoyed by the non stop screaming and belligerent actions from this group of people. I hope in the future guests and groups like this will be told to be respectful and mindful as this is a place to relax and not a party pool.
google avatar

Gabrielle G.

Yelp
Experienced the hot springs and saltwater pools on a day pass and also enjoyed a buffalo burger with sweet potato fries... Great times, all the way around! Staff were personable and attentive to our needs, including checking in on guests with complimentary water to keep us hydrated. The facilities were so well-kept and accommodating staff in every area made this a must-do and a 5 star must-review!
google avatar

Yelp
This is one of my favorite places in the entire northwest. We've had so many memories here. It seems every time we visit they have a new jaw dropping surprise with their expansion. It's spendy, but once you've been here you will get it. The new pools are amazing, and for those who were here years ago, the big square pools are empty and ready to be removed. That just means some new cool thing will be there in it's place. Maybe a spa message area, hint hint? They also have probably one of the best restaurants in western Montana. And a really awesome bar. We won't wait years to come back.

Yelp
Umm... one word AWESOME! And I'm pretty sure everyone knows it since they seem to be fully booked all the way through summer! Thankfully made our plans a couple months ago and were able to secure the Riverside lodge Tuesday through Friday. I'm not sure there isn't one thing I don't like about this place. The riverside rooms are quiet, comfortable with beautiful sweeping views overlooking the river. Loved the specialty package which included robes, daily bottles of complimentary wine, cookies and nuts! My husband said it looked like we were at a cult with all the people walking around in robes! Customer service at the front desk was amazing! The new soaking natural spring pools were perfect and picturesque! I've already made my reservations to come back again in six months. This time we are going to do the private cabins on the river. The tavern is very friendly with reasonable cocktails around $5-8. I kind a wish they had a little bit more "bar kind of food" items like nachos. To be honest the tavern menu seemed a little on the fancier side for a bar which I appreciate. However you can make nachos fancy, come on!!! I'm hoping they also add in a fitness center, fire pits and a bar closer to the pools. A girl can wish and it is a resort after all! Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Have been going to Quinn's for years. A friend took this picture today, too bad I'm not welcome anymore.

Yelp
Love this place; It's run very well! The food is amazing. The pools are clean and laid out nicely. We'll be back!

Yelp
Today we went to Quinns for lunch, a soak, and some drinks. Lunch was great and some people in our party ordered breakfast- I wish they had a consolidated brunch menu, though. My fish and chips was amazing- crispy and succulent. My bf's farm burger was awesome but a little overcooked. The soak was such a unique experience. The water feels so good and is very sulfur heavy. The pools had some bugs in it, though, But you were allowed to bring drinks into the pool which was awesome. Try a miami vice- they were delicious.

Yelp
We had absolutely wonderful time!! First of all, their staff members are the BEST! They were super friendly, attentive, and they made us feel very comfortable instantly. Food was good price and yummy. The room was clean and neat. The bed was comfortable. The new pool was absolutely gorgeous and beautiful! There were fresh towels available. The cold water was served with smile by the staff. The locker room was clean. What more can I ask for? Yes, this place is indeed a paradise. With the natural hot spring, my skin feels great! We are thinking of visiting this every year from now on as a family vacation. Thank you for the wonderful time and hospitality. We definitely recommend this place for everyone!!

Yelp
I again had the pleasurer of staying at Quinn's Hot Springs. This was on Oct 16th, 2020. As has been the case in my previous stays, everything was fantastic. The service, staff, dining, rooms, and hot springs continue to amaze. I look forward to my next visit when the renovations are complete. The new Hot Spring's layout looks fantastic. Quinn's Hot Springs ...... "You Rock" !

Yelp
We pulled up to the resort and went into a building to check in. Inside was a huge store with gifts and items you may need if you forgot anything from home. There is an ATM here, a coffee shop, soft serve ice cream and an ice machine outside. This is the building you will walk through to go to the bar and restaurant and head to the hot springs pools while you're here. We got the keys to our cabin and were given green wristbands (indicating that we're were guests) to use for the pool area. We then drove over to our cabin so we could unpack and get situated. Our cabin was located on the same side as the main building (there are some cabins across the highway that are built along the river also) and were lined up in a row within walking distance to the main building. I noticed on the drive to our cabin that the name of the cabins are in alphabetical order on each one and that each cabin had their own set of tables and chairs on the front porch where you could sit out and relax. My first thought was the massive size of the cabin for the four of us as we pulled up but as I took a closer look I noticed that the cabin is set up duplex style so we only had one side of the building but we did have ample parking room next to it so that was nice. I wasn't sure what to expect on the inside but when we opened the door and went inside I knew it was going to be a comfortable and pleasant stay. There were 2 queen beds, a mini fridge and microwave, a phone, a huge tv on the wall with Dish service, a vanity area that had a coffee maker and Rusk products and a good size bathroom. It was basically a hotel room with a cabin exterior. This is where I was a little disappointed. I guess in my mind I thought we would be walking to some hole in the ground with hot water flowing into it from some hidden underground source. Basically, the way Quinn's is set up is it's a large pool that's sectioned off with different water temperatures. When I first saw it I was like "really?!? It's a swimming pool?!? There is a locker room with bathrooms and showers you are supposed to use to wash off before getting in, there's a small towel hut and a diagram on the wall with pool temps. There is a slight sulfur smell but you get used to it. There was quite a mix of people there visiting. Some that we're staying at the resort and some who had walked in and were just visiting for a few hours. They do allow you to have drinks in the pool as long as they are from their establishment, yeah right, lol. I found that soaking in the pools helped alleviate the pain I had in different parts of my body and going from one hot pool to another was nice. I stayed in the hot springs for a few hours and then went back to the cabin to clean up and make my way to the bar area where they have a pool table ($1 per game), a few machines that have casino type games on them and TVs to watch around the bar. I ordered a prime rib dinner that came with mashed potatoes and asparagus and a beer. It didn't take long for my food to come out and I was pleasantly surprised to see that my prime rib was a good size cut and that they didn't skimp on my mashed potatoes. I did have to ask for gravy for the potatoes because it didn't come with any but other then that everything looked good and it tasted great. The meat was very tender and well seasoned and the potatoes were homemade, not box stuffed, and went well with the brown gravy that they brought me. I ended up taking some of it back to the room with me, which made for a great midnight snack. We stayed here for the next few days and eventually made it across the highway to look at the cabins they have along the river side. The cabins here are really nice and have a swing on the back porch facing the lake. We were able to look inside one while housekeeping was cleaning and they are set up like a suite. Bedroom, bathroom and small living area. The one thing I did notice was that there is a railroad right across the water and a train does pass by on it occasionally. I'm not sure how much of that can be heard from the cabins over there but I think it's good to know before you book that. All in all, my visit here was very nice and relaxing. I think for me personally, this one experience was enough to sustain my curiosity on the whole hot spring thing. I did notice that my skin was pretty dry afterwards and my face was kind of red and blotchy after about the 2nd day in the water so the third day I stayed out completely and just relaxed in the room slathering on coconut oil. It was peaceful here. We did have a pet friendly cabin and didn't encounter any issues while we were here. Staff here was very friendly and accommodating and the only other thing to mention is that they are doing some construction around the grounds but the crews didn't start super early in the morning so we didn't have a problem sleeping in. I'm really glad I got the chance to experience this with friends.

Yelp
We couldn't have been happier staying at Quinn's. I surprised my wife flying up from San Diego for our 25th wedding anniversary, and she loved every minute of it. The whole staff was in on my plan, with the manager getting up before sunrise with his family and finding an incredible spot in the middle of the nearby forest to hang a banner I'd shipped up to them. Such amazing people! The food was top-notch too. Breakfast, lunch, dinner...all left us wondering who this incredible chef was. Inventive and delicious. Our room was right on the Clark River, and we loved it. All wood, and really felt like Montana cozy and smart/modern at the same time. We can't wait for an excuse to return!

Yelp
This is just a review for the pools and lodging. The pools are beautiful as is the location out away from any major cities. There are many different temperature pools. One is adult only. Some are ages 14+ and some allow younger children. There is even a cold plunge pool for when you start to get too hot. You are allowed to have drinks in the pool that you purchase on property. The drink prices have gone up slightly since last year, but are still cheaper than at other hot springs resorts in Montana. A craft beer currently coats $4.75 and would be $6 or $7 at other resorts. The lodge was clean and comfortable and has a cute log cabin feel. The room had a fridge, but it would have been nice to have a microwave as well. I did not enjoy the food in the restaurant, but that is a separate review...

Yelp
Nobody here picks up the phone. Do you all want to sell rooms? I swear it's not that hard. If you are 100% booked raise prices until supply meets demand.

Yelp
stay away from quinn's hot springs. we made reservations back in june of 2022. we were transfered to another state, and needed to leave washington state by nov 15, 2022. we contacted quinn's a.s.a.p ( sept 26, 2022 ) to let them know our situation. justin some supposedly mgr basically said, to bad, so sad, you're out 820.00. that we do not have a refund policy. normally, i would totally understand. but, i'm being transfered..and letting them know well freaking in advance!! not like we're contacting them dec 28, because we had something better come up.. this is absolutely over the top the most ridiculous thing i've ever heard!! as if no quinn's won't be able to f****** fill "new years eve" within 2 mins of someone canceling. it even takes 4 weeks just to use their pools.... the waiting list is so long!!! shame on you new owners "melis" your staf that has no compassion justin ( some manager with zero people skills, sandy, and burl that apparently train to be insensitive to real life situations. we will never ever give you another dime, and hope you all enjoy stealing our $820.00 for 2 rooms that you'd have been able to book within 30 mins of our canceling. the lombardo's 9-26-22

Yelp
I had called and got a room rate for our cabin. I was charged $209.00 for the first day. This is the rate I was quoted and the amount charged to my credit card. When we arrived another charge for $209.00 was charged to my credit card for a two day stay. When we checked out I asked about the military discount which they show they give to military. I was then total the room rate was $229.00 and that they had given a $20.00 discount per night for military discount. Obviously they knew I was going to ask about a military discount before I even asked. If they do not want to give a military discount do not give one.. I would think very hard before going there again. I think it might have been a little bait & switch.

Yelp
One thing has happened since my initial review, development. I am afraid the recent jump in prices will push out the locals and this once appreciated small-town Montana resort will become an out-of-towner destination spot. The riverside cabins are duplexes along the river with awesome upgraded amenities if your pocket book can stretch, try it--the heated floors and gas stove is worth every penny. Food: The Harwood House prices has remained unchanged, dinner is still a pinch spendy for my blood but I'm cheap. The quality of food remains delightful, fresh and always intriguing with the offerings. Breakfast is truly inspiring, the house made chicken fried steak is one that memories are made from. You wont forget the sounds, the smells of this old timbered farm house chow-hall.

Yelp
We are spending the night. We have a big room right on the river. Very clean and quiet. Had dinner in the bar and the medallion salad was so tender. I cut the beef with a butter knife. Tomorrow morning I will go for a soak.

Yelp
We have tried giving this place a chance twice and could not be more disappointed with the service and accommodation. Twice we have been told that we would have river side rooms and adjacent rooms for our family to stay together and have not gotten it either time. The staff has not been friendly or accommodating and ended up charging us more than the price originally quoted to us. Save your money and stay elsewhere. EDIT: added an additional star for the bar staff- great service there! Also, beware the mosquitos are outrageous.

Yelp
Well, we just arrived today. Hot springs and ice pool are exactly as advertised! So nice to soak, and take in the views. We ate dinner at the Tavern. I ordered the Fig Goat Burger. O M G. . . The fig jam is made in house- the goat cheese locally sourced from Livingston and is creamy perfection, bacon is crispy, jalapeño is the perfect amount of kick to off set the sweetness and the caramelized onions is bomb! On top of it it was perfectly cooked burger. I ordered it with a salad and their homemade huckleberry dressing. I loved it! Happy we are staying another night. ;)
