Quinta Colina by Shiadu, a Design Boutique Hotel Lisbon, Portugal

"Located in a quiet street in the heart of Lisbon’s peaceful Pena district, this property offers free WiFi access throughout and has a terrace with views across the city’s rooftops. The 18th century façade of golden lions is instantly recognizable and the property was fully renovated in April 2018. All guest bedrooms at Quinta Colina by Shiadu are equipped with heated rooms, featuring private bathrooms, air-conditioning, a mini-bar and a telephone. A continental breakfast buffet is available at the property each morning. There are many bars and restaurants in the streets surrounding the property. The street in which the guest house is located is famous as the birthplace of singer Amalia Rodrigues. A free walking tour of the area is available from the property staff. The guest house is located a 5-minute walk from Praça do Rossio and is in walking distance from the nearest bus, metro and train stations. Public parking is available at 328 feet from the Quinta Colina by Shiadu." - My Boutique Hotel (en)

Great staff. Takes time to explain where you should go. Characteristic rooms, small, but clean and convenient. Nice breakfast. 5 minute walk to main streats with restaurants. Superb rooftop terrace with awesome view. Great to bring your breakfast or enjoy a bottle of...

Very nice hotel in a quiet neighbourhood, few tourists. Nice roof terrace with a great view over the town. Good bed, room with everything you need. Complementary coffee, thee, water and some chocolates. Good breakfast and a very helpful staff. Recommend this place.

Breakfast is excellent, as always! That’s actually what made me want to come back after my first visit in July, when everything was perfect – warm welcome, help with the luggage, tips about the area… it was a truly memorable experience. Unfortunately, my second visit was the complete opposite. The welcome was cold: we were only given one menu even though we were two people, no help with luggage, no directions to our room or information about the surroundings. The staff member on duty seemed annoyed by our presence and behaved the same way with other guests – including a child who simply asked for Nutella and got a blunt “no,” which surprised everyone around. The room itself was fine, but the bathroom is extremely cramped: the door gets stuck against the toilet, which is surprising for a 4‑star hotel. In short: fantastic first stay, very disappointing second stay. Breakfast remains top‑notch, but the quality of the welcome seems to depend far too much on the staff member present. A real shame.

Beautiful Hotel with an amazing view. Staff is super friendly and helpful. There is always coffee and some cookies. The terrace is amazing with the view, no need to go to a crowded Mirador. Be aware it is of course on the hill. Coming from metrostation it is a bit of a way up but there is still the funicular but not too long in the evening. Nothing negative at all!

Stayed at Quinta Colina by Shiadu in Lisbon which completely exceeded our expectations. Staff were outstanding as was the location - smack bang in the middle of the city. Room was CLEAN and GORGEOUS (the high ceilings really added lots of charm to the room. But most of all I will miss eating the incredible breakfast on the terrace - you can also eat the leftovers during the day if you can come in during the afternoon at no extra cost!

The staff in the hotel are very friendly and helpful. My room was bright and clean, and I liked that they offered different types of pillows to sleep on- the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was great, with fresh fruit and fresh orange juice, and home made cakes etc. I didn't give 5 stars for the location because it was at the top of the hill (as the name of the hotel indicates) so one needs comfortable shoes- having said that, taxis in Lisbon are not expensive at all.

We stayed here for 3 nights and then came back for 3 more. Lovely breakfast. The evening and night staff were amazing to us during the black out in Portugal April 29th when we couldn't find a room. Highly recommend.
