Quinta da Palmeira – Country House Retreat & Spa (Cerdeira, Portugal) 9 Hotel Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Just when we thought life couldn’t get any mellower for travelers in Portugal, here comes Quinta da Palmeira – Country House Retreat, an airy eight-room country house in the quiet hills between Porto and Lisbon. Surrounded by orange trees and olive groves, with the peaks of the Serra do Açor just beyond, Quinta da Palmeira makes its home in a region famous for gastronomy and open-air parties known as arraiais, with song and dance as the main activities. For many travelers it will likely be just a stopover between Portugal’s main coastal cities, which is a shame, for it takes a couple days to settle into the laid-back countryside lifestyle." - Tablet Hotels

The hotel is very well kept, amazing views from the pool which has a convenient but not cheap honesty bar. Not sure if the pool was heated or it was because of the warm weather but it was a plus for the kids!|The room was very comfortable, large and perfectly cleaned. Only downside was no A/C.|Jack the owner and the lady at breakfast were very polite and professional in every interaction and kind enough to charge our EV - there is only one Tesla charger.|Breakfast had all the basics with fresh ingredients.|Hotel is very well located if you’re looking to explore the beautiful surrounding villages of Piodao, Benfeita, Coja and Fraga da Pena.

During our tour in Portugal we also stayed a few nights in Quinta da Palmeira. A very pleasant experience. We had a beautiful, luxurious room with a beautiful view. The bathroom was luxurious and clean. The bed was comfortable and the linens were clean and fresh. After a good night's sleep we enjoyed a delicious protugees breakfast. After an afternoon relaxing by the pool and enjoying the beautifully landscaped garden, a delicious dinner was served by a nice service. In short, if you go to Portugal, Quinta da Palmeira is an absolute must!

A lovely place and very calm. The ideal place to relax during the holiday or just for a quick get away. If you want to escape to the city fast pace this is the place to be, time here slows down, true story... We stayed here for a few days with our 9 month old baby and it was great. Ah, and the salt water swimming pool was divinal.

What a surprise, incredible views and accommodations here. Girlfriend booked a hotel in this area and I had no idea what to expect. Arrived here and this was better than the $500/night hotel we had in Lisbon. The owner was amazing, he checked us in and was very helpful with everything. We then figured out we were the only ones here. No other customers. How is this incredibly beautiful place completely empty? It’s not expensive by any means. I know I have friends in the US who would travel all the way over here just to stay at this hotel, or even visit this region in general. This is a well kept secret, and while I hope on one hand it becomes more popular to where this hotel can be booked every night full, I also hope that this remains a well kept secret and it isn’t overwhelmed with tourists ruining this beautiful area and landscape. Thanks for everything, total surprise, and absolutely loved it. Hope my review can convince others to stay here. I hope we are here again in the future.

The interior design is very luxorious and rooms are spaceious. Pool is clean and with a very nice view.||Unfortunately our perfect experience was ruined by the behaviour of the host who wasn't friendly at all and my every request received a firm "no". We felt more like a liability than welcomed guests. That was the only place in Portugal where we didn't meet a smiling face and received a warm welcome.

The bedroom is huge, with a super size, super comfy bed. Jack and Ana are great hosts with great attention to detail. The food is delicious (Ana is a great cook). Because we went there on separate dates they even ensured that we did not repeat the same dishes. The swimming pool has a good size and at the end of the day swallows come to drink there :) Everything was clean spotless.

We stayed 6 night in this wonderful place. The owners have succeeded in creating a place full of discrete luxury. The hotel is a nice place to relax, the surrounding countryside is magnificent and there are lots of interesting places not far away. Add to this the wonderful food that is prepared with love and you have a fantastic combination. The room we had was superb and although it was very warm outside, the room was always comfortable. Overall an unforgettable holiday stay.|

My husband and I stayed at the hotel for a couple of nights whilst house hunting. ||Jack made us feel very welcome throughout our stay. We had a beautiful junior suite, which had the most breathtaking views. ||The room was cool even though it was still 30 degrees, but there was a fan if you needed. ||The bed was huge, firm, but I slept like a log for the 2 nights...sleeping for 9 hrs on each evening. ||Breakfast was tasty, lots of local variety of produce.. The evening meal was the suprise menu, which was actually a really nice change..if your not fussy then you will enjoy it, we enjoyed each of the courses on both nights. ||The self service bar was really nice, only downside no ice...so I passed on the G&Ts and drank the wonderful wine instead. ||Loved the pool and having a self service refrigerater and freezer for little treats! ||Overall it was a fantastic stay, stunning location, high end finish and lovely food.
