We had a delightful time at Quinta Don Jose. The location was perfect! Just a few short blocks to the main shopping area with lots of artisan shops and restaurants. The street between Independencia, where the shopping is, and Reforma has a lot of shops and restaurants, too. There are multiple banks located within the shopping area.||We stayed in the room named Cantalague. It was very nice! A huge walk in shower with a large sink area is separate from the main room. The toilet - with bidet!!! - is off the main sleeping room, which is a little weird but functional. There is a large deck with lounge chairs and umbrellas off the main room. Very relaxing. The king size bed was super comfortable with ample pillows.||The room has a French press coffee pot with fresh ground coffee, a water dispenser for both cold and hot water and a refrigerator, but no microwave. It would be nice to have a small microwave in the room, but the kitchen will heat leftovers for you and you can eat in the bar or outside area. ||The restaurant is very good, too. We enjoyed dinner there after a late arrival and everything was fresh and well prepared. The pizza was very good! Great appetizers, too. The bar is open 24 hours. Wine and drinks were reasonably priced. ||Breakfast is complementary and consists of fresh fruit and muffins, coffee and juice and eggs prepared to your liking. If you want other items, you can order them but they are not complementary. They are very reasonably priced. ||There is a tour operator in the hotel, Lester, and he is very competent and knowledgeable about the area. We took a complimentary tour into Guadalajara and enjoyed it very much. If you stay for a certain length of time, I believe it is 3 nights, you receive a complementary tour and complementary pick up and return to the airport. We stayed 4 nights and found that to be a little short, but we did get into the hotel late because of a flight change so we lost an entire day that we had planned on having for sight seeing. It would have been nice to have an extra day to go to Tonala, where a lot of the art is actually made. I would have liked to have seen more of Guadalajara, too. Next time.||Quinta Don Jose is the perfect location and everyone was exceptionally nice and accommodating. I would definitely stay there again.
