Quinta Nova Nossa Senhora do Carmo

It’s truly Stu Omg here! We just went for a stroll around the vineyard and enjoyed their delicious wine at the end. The views were mesmerizing and so peaceful! We hardly saw anybody on the way and really got lost on the nature. The reception building offered water and had a fantastic aroma from some exclusive fragrance they used. I wish they sold it! I can’t recommend this place enough but I hope it does t become too busy because it’s perfect when there aren’t too many people there. Everywhere you gaze could easily be a I Pessimist pairing, it’s like a dream.

Quinta Nova has a spectacular landscape that is breathtaking at every turn. The wine tour was given by friendly and knowledgeable staff and the rooms are spacious with modern amenities. The road to get to the winery was a winding experience! The only thing to note is that once you are at the winery, the only food option is that on-site (I would not suggest leaving at night due to the challenging roads). The surrounding villages and wineries are a short distance and worth exploring too.

Obviously the wine list is one of the great highlights!|Staff are friendly & knowledgeable.

We wanted to explore ancestral roots in various communities in the Douro region. Quinta Nova was a marvellous base for us. The dinners in the evenings (which I would recommend booking at the same time you book your hotel reservation) were lovely and the staff was very attentive. Breakfast comprised many options (boiled eggs included but omelette extra) and was great. We wished we had known in advance that a lunch or all day menu was available- restaurants in the Douro can keep limited hours. The views and service was amazing. And after driving those Douro roads during the day, it was fantastic to come back to Quinta Nova

Amazing place. Very authentic, charming hotel in an old winefarm with one of the most amazing views over the douro valley you will find. Very few rooms, each with its own style and character. No overdue bling bling luxury here, but understated comfort and good taste. Amazingly friendly team in both hotel and restaurant. Only minus was the quality of the dinner in the restaurant that frankly underwhelmed, especially for that price. Expected more.

The winery has converted a family home into a fabulous guest house. Service was outstanding, and the chef did a perfect job of creating exceptional courses.|The wine museum was well worth the time!|Rooms were very comfortable. We really enjoyed the common areas for quiet reading and reviewing the days adventures.....|The drive in was not for the faint of heart, but absolutely breathtaking... We had never seen tiered vineyards like these before, which necessitates harvesting all the grapes by hand. the harvest was just concluding when we arrived.|Overall a fantastic experience.

Quinta Nova Winery House Is spectacular !! The rooms are stunning and private like a cottage. Contemporary rooms but the hotel area is historical! The Wines are amazing and the Staff is impeccable !! We were greeted by Bruno who gave us a guided tour of the hotel. The one of the staff offered us drinks on the veranda facing the Vineyard! I’m attaching the photos of the staff and photos I have shared with Quinta Nova!

We had a memorable and lovely stay at Quinta Nova. The scenery is breathtaking, the wine is delicious, and the accommodations were pristine. My fiancé and I had our every need met during our stay and we felt incredibly cared for. I would highly recommend anyone going to the Douro Valley to plan an overnight stay at Quinta Nova.

Pristine vineyard with amazing tour guide , he took us through all of the processes of making wine as well as history of the vineyard and grapes throughout the years of production. We finished up our tour with a private tasting then a beautiful 3 course meal with a wine tasting paired to what you ordered. The servers were attentive and so friendly. Would definitely recommend if you're looking for an exceptional winery expierence with amazing views of Douro valley and the river. I forgot to take photos of the food except desert!

A massive industrialized winery owned by The Amorim family (Portugal'srichest) since 2093, making primarily still wines-according to our guide around 90% of their grapes. We had a cursory winery tour with a group of around 10 people-all Portuguese except my wife and I. It was your basic tour, walking through the winery, looking at machinery, followed by a visit to their little museum (shrine to the olden days) assembled by the winery matriarch. Afterwards, we sat outside the nice wine shop overlooking the river with amazing view and tried three wines-one white, 1 red and 1 port-nothing special to my palet. What IS SPECIAL are the amazing views from the property and the wonderful restaurant Skip the winery and tasting and book in advance a table for lunch. Depending on the menu you can order a wine flight to accompany your lunch-this way you can taste the wines while skipping the highly mechanized and uninteresting winery. Enjoy the panoramic views while enjoying a three course meal with wine (around €75 pp)
