After living in this hostel for six months, I can say that despite a lack of certain amenities, it’s a great place overall. However, I want to point out that what really made this hostel enjoyable was the friendly, laid-back backpacker atmosphere. Unfortunately, that has changed since the arrival of a new staff member, Steven, who constantly acts like a police officer and, on top of that, is not even capable of doing his job properly (booking issues, misunderstandings, removing my belongings for no reason…). This person has ruined the warm, welcoming vibe that made people want to stay here.

My food got thrown out/put in “free box”. The cleaner picks up my bag, looks at the side (where my name is written on it), puts the eggs in the staff fridge and everything else in the other fridge. Do with that as you will. Apart from that the stay was pretty good.

The hostel was pretty good in general before a new worker arrived, Steven who thinks he’s a teacher in a kindergarten school. You feel like you’re back in school and the teachers are looking at you. Otherwise the hostel itself was good and people aswell

All in all the hostel is alright. You get a relatively cheap place to sleep in a very good location. But other than that it’s not that great. Our private room didn’t have windows (only a small one in the ceiling which couldn’t be opened) and was very small. There was AC which was good. The showers and toilets were alright but not special. There was a kitchen which is very much how the kitchens are in hostels. Relaxed but not tooo clean! Overall not that great but since there are not that many hostels in Perth and the location is good it’s a valid option!

I had just one night here. And that’s good. Staff is great! But the room and common rooms are super outdated. Seems not very clean to me. The mattress was already worn out in the last century. Room was very small. No curtains!

The receptionist was very mean. She throw away 100$ of our food in the fridge because she didn’t pay attention to the name written on the bag. No camera at this tome so no one was cleaning the dishes. Bathrooms are dirty. We got a private room : terrible mattress, no windows, « double » bed, poor quality of service compares to others hostels. Location is great, that’s the only good point.

I accidentally left my bag with food on the table instead of putting it in the fridge before going to my morning shift. My name and room number were written on the bag. Instead of putting it back in the fridge, the staff moved it to the free section, and everything disappeared. I was informed that this is “The Rule” and that they have to do that. I suggest reconsidering this rule and finding a different way to handle such situations. It would help make your hostel a better place.
