Very disappointing experience.   We booked two twin rooms (4 beds) as we are travelling with colleagues.  We got to the hotel and checked in, at no point were we told that the twin beds we booked were unavailable.   Instead the booked us into 2 double rooms.
Given that we were 4 guys (2 of which we just met this day) this was not appropriate.   When we spoke to the reception they said all they could do was charge us for 2 extra family rooms, almost tripling the cost of what we booked.
At this point it was 11 pm and options were limited for us.   We proposed they split the beds in the rooms or even would accept camp beds, but they refused and insisted on us paying for 2 more family rooms.  Given that they had availability and it was 11pm, it’s my opinion that they could have offered us a free upgrade to the family rooms.
We very clearly booked 4 beds and the website is still showing 4 beds available to book, but they failed to solved the problem.
Extremely poor service and a very frustrating experience given the circumstances. The lady on the front desk was outright rude, If i owned the hotel Id make sure she wasn't customer facing.
Fortunately, the manager (who seemed absolutely lovely) stepped in and solved the issue by remaking the double beds as 2 twins.  Perfect and an easy solve.
This process spoiled what otherwise would have been a nice experience in a nice hotel.
