Booked a loft which I understand has stairs but all the bathrooms are upstairs. This made Having someone who is unable to climb stairs multiple times a day a challenge. The restaurant breakfast was blah! After the 3rd day my 15 year old son decided that he would rather not eat breakfast. There was No jamaican food other than porridge and maybe plantain on some days. |Staff was pretty rude in the restaurant. The couch downstairs in the sitting area was hard. The balcony furniture looked like donated kitchen dining room chairs. |The pool (if that’s what you want to call it) closes very early on the weekends (I believe at 11 or 12). |The bartender (I forgot his name) was very nice. The Jamaican breakfast which we had to pay for was good. |The location was good for what we needed to do.

I just wanted to write a review to let the staff at R Hotel know Odane's (night shift) customer service was exceptional. He is a well put together young man that exemplies what working in the service industry is about! It was my first visit and would return due to our pleasant interactions and his helpfulness in assisting my needs.

My family stayed in one of the two bedroom lofts. We all loved it and would definitely return! The not so great - The "Jamaican" breakfast (and the food in general) could be better; even though we had booked the Jamaican breakfast package, we ended up eating the continental breakfast some mornings. Also, the parking garage is treacherous. If you are looking for a quiet, clean place to stay with friendly staff, then this is it. Just don't expect the best food and try to avoid having to park in the lot.

Check in was smooth, friendly and prompt.||I found the room to be small (despite having been given an upgrade), tired and disappointing. I also thought that it was extremely strange that a hotel located in the corporate area had only one USB charging port (this was located in the phone, which I was advised wasn't a true charging port). So if you're staying here, ensure that you have your adapters otherwise you'll be very disappointed. ||Toiletries were included, which is always a nice touch however that was probably the best thing about the room.||I opted for the Jamaican breakfast but this too was somewhat underwhelming with soggy boiled green bananas!||However the main issue that I encountered was the security guard at the gate. After exchanging some words he observed me leaving the hotel and less than 10 minutes later I returned by foot and was directing my father who was driving, to the hotel. I asked the guard whether he was going to open the gate for my father, to which he replied no because I was not in the vehicle! It was only after insisting that I needed to collect my luggage that he reluctantly raised the gate.||Instances such as this do not leave guests with a positive experience, therefore along with the above issues encountered I would be extremely reluctant to return or recommend the R to anyone.

The hotel’s location is highly convenient and easy to identify 🗺️, which provides an immediate sense of ease upon arrival. At the reception, I was warmly welcomed by Monique 👩🏽‍💼💖, whose personality remains one of the highlights of my visit. She exuded kindness, attentiveness, and professionalism in a way that can only be described as exemplary. Her manner of service not only set the tone for my stay but also elevated the hotel’s reputation in my eyes. The room 🛏️🌸 was strikingly beautiful, tastefully furnished, and imbued with a sense of refined comfort. I had submitted a special request prior to check-in, and it was met seamlessly, without the imposition of any additional cost 🙌🏽—a gesture that underscored the establishment’s commitment to guest satisfaction and care. It is important to note that the hotel requires a deposit of USD $100 💵 upon check-in. This sum is held as a safeguard against any damages that may occur within the room or on the property. However, it is fully refundable upon departure, provided no such damages are incurred. This practice, though precautionary, is both transparent and reasonable, reflecting the hotel’s commitment to preserving the high quality of its facilities. In terms of amenities, the pool 🏊🏽‍♂️ was modest in size and not necessarily a defining feature of the property. Nevertheless, it was scrupulously clean and served its function as a refreshing reprieve from the tropical climate. The culinary offerings 🍽️😋 were truly outstanding. Each meal was prepared with evident skill, with the breakfast service 🍳🥐🥭 deserving particular praise for its freshness, variety, and presentation. It was consistently an enjoyable start to each day. Of significant importance is the hotel’s commitment to accessibility ♿️. The property is equipped with handicap parking 🚘, accessible restrooms 🚻, and an elevator 🛗, ensuring that guests of all abilities are accommodated with dignity and convenience. This thoughtful inclusion speaks volumes of the hotel’s foresight and inclusivity in serving a diverse clientele. In conclusion, R Hotel stands as a commendable institution within Kingston’s hospitality landscape. Would I recommend it? Unquestionably ✅

From the moment I walked in the door, the receptionist was amazing. The rooms are great!! And the staff are super polite. The rooftop bar and breakfast are amazing. Excuse my mess in the photos..lol

This Hotel and their staff were outstanding! My father and I were coming to urgently visit my elderly grandmother and they were so kind and upgraded our room reservation to a bigger two floor / two bedroom suite as a complimentary gesture. I can't thank them enough for their compassion and personable hospitality. The rooms were also clean, modern, updated, and luxurious. They were respectful and made our visit go smoothly without any stress. Thank you, your hard work does not go unnoticed.
