"There is no end to the adventures we can have if only we seek them with our eyes open."
Darling European Boutique Hotel that met my standards in Paris. It's actually quite popular with young hip Parisians so it peaked my curiosity. R. Kipling Hotel is where I'd stay in the heart of it all.
Upon my arrival in Paris, through the streets of old Saint-Georges, is when I enter the world of Rudyard Kipling. I was greeted in French and Spanish. And English when I offered my passport for check-in. The front desk, very French, with a tad of Clark Gable, yes even with the skinny mustache lol. The Victorian era inspired lobby, with leather sofas and trinkets from around the world reminds one of yesteryear.
I usually request a higher floor, but I was offered a second floor room, which I accepted knowing the elevator was tiny and worked at Victorian era speed. Plus, I'd be here for over a week, a longer stay, so getting in and out easily was the plan. I enter...
Each room is unique. Great for solo travelers or young couples or old couples in love. That's if you don't mind waking to a portrait of Rudyard Kipling every morning lol. Yes, the theme here is all about the adventures of the iconic European Poet. The bed was high and comfy and warmly made. In my room, I had a large print of two Geisha women at tea. Rudyard was in my bathroom :3. The bathroom is very modern and Euro designed, which means only one side of the shower is covered. All good.
This stay met standards for European Boutique stays, however expect minimal amenities, in fact, I had a ton of body lotion & liquid soap lol, but no trace of shampoo or conditioner. I was okay with it because I had several travel bottles from my stays in Italy. I guess I could have simply asked, but I would have assumed they would have noticed during cleaning. It was never replenished! Oh well:3 The toilet was clean and sterile but had a low pressure flush to it, if you know, you know haha. The view was meh, or lack of it from my room, hence not a 5*
The small generic coffee maker was a nice touch with both regular and decaf instant options. Oui! I ended up getting my French roast in Montmartre, but still it's just a nice option to have in case of withdrawals :D. The lobby also offers you tea & Joe!
In the end, I'd recommend R. Kipling Hotel for those wanting to immerse yourself into a more European experience. For me, I love European Boutiques because the vibe is more authentic versus gigantic American hotels and squares. To each, their own. I really enjoyed my stay, yes, even with Rudyard Kipling's voyeurism at my offered nakedness... ;)
