I wanted to share my recent experience at R2 Roppongi, which was incredibly disappointing and felt like a scam. Despite paying over 4000 JPY for food, I was not even offered a place to sit. Instead, I had to stand at the bar and eat. To make matters worse, the staff kept my credit card for an extended period, which made me quite anxious. The whole atmosphere was stressful, and after a short time, they filled my glass with the remnants of a bottle and urged me to leave. This was clearly because they wanted to give my spot to three other people, even though I was there alone.
Additionally, I noticed that about 90% of the staff were of African Nigerian descent, which is not an issue in itself, but the overall experience left me feeling very disheartened. Having traveled to Japan and specifically to Roppongi for almost 20 years, this visit was a significant letdown. I expected much better service and hospitality, but unfortunately, R2 Roppongi did not meet those expectations.
