One of my favourite beaches in Phuket. Not noted as a swimming beach account the volume of boats but still a wonderful spot to spend a day or evening. So many great restaurants up and down the esplanade will have you spoilt for choice in deciding what to eat, including the renowned seafood market. There is a great little brewery here too, highly recommend the IPA. And being a major boating spot plenty of longtails around to ship you off to one of the many islands in the area. Highly recommended.

Rawai Beach is a beautiful spot with soft, fantastic sand and a relaxing atmosphere. It’s not just a place to enjoy the shoreline — it’s also the perfect beach for taking a small boat out for a tour of the nearby islands. The longtail boats lined up along the shore make it easy to explore the stunning islands just across the water, and the views are absolutely worth it.
Whether you want to relax on the sand or head out on an island-hopping adventure, Rawai Beach is an excellent choice. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the area.

Rawai isn’t your typical swimming beach — and that’s exactly what makes it special.
Longtail boats lined up along the shore, fishermen getting ready at sunrise, peaceful walks under the casuarina trees…
It’s the perfect place to feel the local rhythm of Phuket.
A great starting point for island adventures — and one of those spots you keep coming back to. 🌊🚤🌴

The beach is full of docked boats, making it unsuitable for sunbathing or swimming, but it provides a different kind of vibe.
I enjoy observing the numerous small animals without needing to dive.
The place is practically empty, tranquil, and serene. It's easily accessible; just park and enjoy a walk.

A quiet place to relax with gentle waves and a calm shoreline. The pier side is good for walking and taking photos, and there’s a big I ❤️ Rawai writing set up as a photo spot which most visitors stop at. Food stalls and small cafés are nearby, so it’s easy to spend some time here enjoying the breeze. Sunsets look especially nice from this area.
Pros: Peaceful atmosphere. Good photo spot with the I ❤️ Rawai sign. Plenty of food options. Nice for evening walks.
Cons: Not ideal for swimming. Some rocky patches. Can get a bit crowded near the pier.

Great for dining, walking and getting the vibe. Not suitable for a perfect sun and sand experience. Mainly boats with less space to swim or enjoy the nature.

Surrounding environment is suitable for just sightseeing the vibe over there. I wouldn't recommend for swimming or playing sand at here as you can see from the pictures there are a lot of boats and the nearly no place to walk nearby the ocean

A pretty beach with lots of boats for atmospheric photos. Areas of shade to sit and pretty calm with no one hassling you.
Unfortunately there is a lot of rubbish on the beach and very little effort to keep it clean. The main road running parallel to the beach is quite noisy.
