"It’s a challenge to get to RAAS through the confusion of old Jodhpur’s narrow, congested streets. You at last reach an unprepossessing door in a cement facade that opens onto a leafy courtyard and a modern structure housing 39 guest rooms and suites. Through the alchemy of inspired design, the bold lines of this new building blend harmoniously with the elegant remnants of the eighteenth-century haveli (courtier’s palace) on whose grounds it is sited. Through minimalist decor, the accommodations make adroit use of space, texture, and pattern (including pink sandstone lattice screens that, recalling traditional jalis, bring shade and privacy), which compensates for the fairly modest size of the rooms and bathrooms, with handsome tubs set in stone. Room terraces have not just a view, but grand theater: In the foreground, a swimming pool with gauzy-curtained cabanas is set in a garden, and reflecting pools lead up to a graceful old pavilion, now the dining room. To your left, an ancient structure accommodates pillowed seating alcoves. And as the dramatic backdrop looms the Maharajah of Jodhpur’s massive pink sandstone Mehrangarh Fort. The quality of the cuisine, with both Indian and international offerings, can be uneven, and the calls to prayer from the minaret next door can be jarringly loud. Mercifully, double glazing and the hum of the air-conditioning silences the 4 a.m. loudspeaker crackle."

"I started in Jodhpur, at the boutique Raas hotel, preferring its intimacy and rebelliously slick minimalism to the grand palaces outside the city walls."

Superb hotel. |Service was out of this world. Food was equally amazing. |We were here on Christmas Eve and the place was decked out with lights and decorations. The rooftop bar had live entertainment and extra amuse bouche handed out. The evening menu was a special set menu. The food was out of this world delicious and the service was excellent. |As others have mentioned, the call to prayer was intrusive and irritating but bearable. It did wake me in the morning but I went straight back to sleep. I suspect most places in the city could have a noise issue so you may as well come here and enjoy this lovely place. |EXTREMELY comfy bed and pillows helped!|Enjoy a trip to the fort and palace, it was amazing. |Overall we loved the city of Jodhpur more than any other place we have visited so far.

This beautiful small boutique hotel was very homey and comfortable with a king comfy bed, large modern bathroom and two stories that included a sitting / den area and outdoor porch on the upper floor and fantastic views on both floors of the Mehrangarh Fort. At night the grounds are magical with candles lit throughout and beautiful landscape lighting. There are 2 restaurants with friendly and attentive staff and excellent food and views of the fort. We highly recommend this hotel and would gladly go back

Sublime hotel- incredible architecture, staff, restaurant and setting. My friends and I are ready to move in. The spa/wellness/yoga director and therapists are particularly amazing and it was an unexpected joy to have such great treatments that I ended up going twice in two days. The compound is a brilliant restoration and repairs of an antique javelin with gorgeous modern contextual pieces and gardens woven into it. The views from the rooms and the rooftop restaurants feature the rock hewn fort above and the bright blue plaster houses of the old city. The adjacent restored stepwell ( fronted by the hotel’s casual stepwell cafe) is a monument to 18th ingenuity and design- Escher would be proud.

The view is breathtaking but the service was appalling. We had booked seating for a large group still the arrangements were not made and we were made to adjust in a confined space. Despite reminding them about topping up the poppadoms and water it was not done. I expected a better service for the price we paid.

We had an amazing family time and dinner. Great views from the rooftop bar and then cozy dinner downstairs with heating for outdoor seating. Food was amazing and so were the drinks. Absolutely fabulous service. I was with family and not feeling well and planned to skip the meal. Was surprised with on the house dal and raita. Amazing care.

Very professional staff, facilities and food. View was gr8 - exceptional. As a party of two one found nothing wrong - but the other was affected by the evening noise coming from the vicinity as the hotel is well within the old city limits. A plus is that you can walk around the old town from your hotel.

Even better than expected! The view from our room and hotel grounds of Mehrangarh fort was spectacular. Room was large; large swimming pool; great restaurant (outstanding aloo parathas for breakfast); friendly, helpful staff; location is right in the midde of the city. This is defintely the best option in Jodhpur.

The hotel is situated where all the rooms have a great view directly towards the Fort. The architects of the hotel have used red sandstones to great effect and within the central area there is a lovely pool and terraced area for dining. Breakfast buffet was outstanding and dining at night was a delight.|The hotel maintains a stepwell which is just outside the property as well as some gift shops and an ice cream parlour.|All the staff were pleasant and friendly.|It was safe and easy to walk to nearby restaurants at night through the market area.
