We had an amazing time, despite going through a massive storm with the kind folks of Raasay. All the food, from breakfast to dinner, was delicious and everyone was so kind and helpful. It was cool to see the locals come and go as well, since its kind of the only cafe and bar on the island. View was spectacular. Ferry to and from was pretty easy to navigate. Warning - if you are coming or going on Sundays, ferry is limited. And the cafe is closed certain days. It was a nice getaway, and we're glad we made the adventure over

We stayed at the beautiful House of Raasay for our honeymoon. Upon arrival we were blessed and so grateful to discover our room had been upgraded free of charge to celebrate the occasion. We booked ourselves in for dinner and breakfast at the restaurant which was delicious, all the staff were lovely and would make a point of asking if they could assist us with anything. We received great local recommendations and took ourselves for a walk up Temptation Hill in the morning after breakfast. After our checkout we received a message that we had accidentally left a few belongings behind and the staff went out of their way to send these back to us on the ferry and were so generous with their assistance and making us feel completely at home. We wish we could have stayed longer! This was a highlight for us and we would recommend others to make the trip across and see this beautiful part of the world and meet some lovely folks 💙

Outstanding food from start to finish. Fresh , beautifully cooked and well presented. Everything was piping hot and the tastes out of this world. I can highly recommend the scallops and steak and the whiskey and honeycomb desert was to die for. The staff were impeccable , so friendly and cheery and simply could not do enough to make you feel very welcome. I personally loved the singing waiter - such a fun person. Our evening was brilliant from start to finish. I cannot recommend this hotel enough. Thank you all. |The Grove Family

This was our third visit. We went to RH on Oct of each year. 2023 2024 and 2025. The place is so beautiful and the people are friendly. Finn was amazing. He's so kind and helpful. David is such a cool funny guy to saved us by offering boat rides when the ferry broke down. I would definitely recommend you to book dinner there as well the food was spectacular EVERY SINGLE TIME. We look forward to our next visit. Thank you for an an amazing experience.

The room was immaculate, the staff was incredibly kind and inviting. They helped me on my proposal and had wonderful suggestions on where to do it. The grounds were incredibly well kept and the views was breathtaking.

We accidentally booked our stay on the Isle of Raasay, thinking it was the Isle of Skye—and it turned out to be the most pleasant surprise of our trip. The Raasay Hotel was spotless, welcoming, and full of charm. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay special, even helping organize activities like hiking, biking, and a local dance event where we learned Scottish dancing. The views are absolutely breathtaking, and despite being on a small island, it’s very convenient thanks to the nearby ferry. The island itself is incredibly tranquil, with only about 180 residents and one small supermarket. Dinners and breakfasts at the hotel were delicious. We left feeling lucky to have stumbled upon such a peaceful and memorable place.

We were expecting this hotel to be wonderful as it cost over £320 per night. By far the most expensive on our tour of the islands. Our experience was very poor. The room was tiny and at the top of the house rather like an attic room. The bathroom was v small with a tiny shower stall. |It appeared to be run by students here for the Summer. They were all friendly as were the reception staff.|Dinner was ok but with limited choice. The dining areas were very plain rather like a cheap cafe. The bar and restaurant staff were friendly.|Breakfast was poor. Very little on offer for a continental, the pastries had gone and the fruit was minimal. The cooked items were cold and unappetising. The coffee was good.|This is probably one of the worst hotels we have stayed at in all the years we have been travelling the islands.|We would have stayed at the Distillery hotel but they were full.|Rasaay is a lovely island with beautiful views everywhere. The local shop was good and staff v friendly.|Our experience of Rasaay was spoilt by this hotel. We will not be recommending it. The owners need to improve things if they are going to continue to charge such exorbitant prices.

I absolutely do not recommend the Raasay House, and I especially do not recommend someone without weather-inclusive travel insurance book here.||You should be very aware that this property is only reachable by ferry, and those ferries can be cancelled due to weather. We couldn’t make it due to a severe windstorm that swept the country causing the ferries to be cancelled, and none of the staff were even apologetic about the situation. “Welcome to island life,” one said. Usually, if someone else books the room you can get a partial refund. Literally no one could get on the island, so there was no possibility for a refund and no meals were comped nor was any sort of compensation provided for our missed night. We had to book a different place that ended up being a much, much nicer experience than our time at Raasay House. Any customer service at all would have been appreciated. Had Rassay House given us a 10% refund or a meal voucher or just an apology I probably wouldn’t be writing this review.||When we finally got there, our room was drab, the continental breakfast can only be described as bad, and the interior was an ugly mess. The room we ate dinner in had thrift store quality unframed paintings on the wall in way of decor. Their lack of attention to detail is exemplified by the game room, which should not be open to the public and looks like a room in a cheap hostel. We felt like we paid way, WAY too much for such a low quality place. We paid 537 USD total a night to stay there (around 400 pounds) which we now know is a ridiculous price to pay for this place.||Do not overlook this property’s faults just to stay on Raasay Island. There’s not much to see, and if you want to explore the Isle of Skye you have to be back by 18:30, since that’s when the last ferry is. If you want to go, I recommend taking a day trip. You would be much better off booking somewhere that has easy access to the rest of Skye and good staff.

We were so excited for our trip but due to choosing safety over possibly being stuck in Scotland and unable to return...we canceled our long planned trip to Scotland. We are in a global pandemic folks. We totally planned to return post this sorting itself out but given the hosts "under no circumstances, no not even a global pandemic" cancellation policy and FULLY charging my card...we will not be staying here. We travel a lot and we will share this experience widely. We sure wish you'd choose to be good humans and consider at least a partial refund. None of us chose this...
