TOTAL TOURIST TRAP.
Yes its a beautiful spot but we dont like been misled or ripped off which is exactly what happened.
They say you must have a permit to experience the dolphin discovery & staff will check that everyone has a permit..that is not true, they check a handful out of at least 100 people, you think your doing the right thing by adhering to all the signs that clearly say..wait on the boardwalk with your permit to be checked by staff..there were people everywhere on the sand & jetty when staff asked everyone to get on the boardwalk for a briefing most didnt & when they let the ropes down it was charge of the light brigade, people pushing & shoving & nothing was said to them so we got to see nothing,,total waste of our time & effort, there is no organisation at all,so disappointing that we did the right thing & got punished.
Staff had no control, they dont check all people for permits, people were commenting that the didnt get a permit & got to see the dolphin's..so unfair.
Only staff get to feed the dolphins so saying they pick a random visitor is a lie.
Ocean view room looks like its had a bit of a freshen up but needs a lot of TLC,no microwave or toaster only tea & coffee making facilities & a small fridge.
Cleanliness was lacking throughout the whole resort.
View was fantastic.
Food , beverages & general store were a total ripp off.
Take your own supplies.
Majority of staff are internationals with working visas so they dont care about much & are very average on doing there jobs.
Expected a lot more, very very disappointed in the dolphin experience which is a major selling point for this place but we were let down dramatically.
Tip..dont stop at the billabong roadhouse as it is putrid, drive 50klm down the road & stop at the overlander its a lot better, same fuel price, better food options & a LOT cleaner.
Been seen will never return & could not recommend.
Overated & Overpriced.
