25 Best Things to Do in Iceland

"Tucked away on the western edge of Reykjavík and surrounded by sea in a nature reserve, Radagerdi feels cozy and emphasizes locally sourced ingredients with inspirations from the simplicity of Italian cuisine; in winter you might even glimpse the Northern Lights from your table." - Vanessa Wilkins Vanessa Wilkins Vanessa Wilkins is a travel and lifestyle writer with an extensive background in digital journalism. Food & location were awesome! But the staff were just mediocre, not welcoming nor warm, which I find it too bad because everything was near perfect! Normally I always tip my server(s), but this was one of the few times I didn’t because the service was just ok… Food was delicious and came in quick, and the location was perfect and we saw Northern light right after dinner!

I don’t even know where to start other than you must eat here while in Reykjavík. Traveling to Iceland then eating Italian sounds crazy but you will regret all of your life choices if you don’t. Order the “bread and dip.” It’s probably the best thing I’ve ever eaten. The building is adorable. The food is incredible. It’s difficult to not return here for every night of our stay.

Ráðagerði is a cozy restaurant & café located in Seltjarnarnes, by the Grótta lighthouse and nature reserve. It is housed in a historic timber building dating from before 1900. Though it feels like it’s out in the countryside, it’s very accessible — only about a 6–7 minute drive from central Reykjavík. The views are a big part of the charm: sea, wide expanses, volcanoes, mountains, and the lighthouse make the surroundings special. Especially in summer, outdoor dining is pleasant; in winter the atmospheric setting is good for quiet evenings, sometimes even northern lights.

Amazing location on the edge of Reykjavik - came as walk in and was quickly seated and food came in about 10 minutes - perhaps an all time top 3 focaccia sandwich and meatballs in a cheesy sauce. We had two none alc servings.

We had the best time at your place guys. The atmosphere, the staff, the food just everything ❤️! We messed up the reservation and you still accomodated and then were attentive to the special birthday request. Thanks a lot for making the experience amazing. I have probably had brunch in 90% of the places offering brunch in greater reykjavik over the past 10 years, and you guys have become my n°1 🥹!

Raðagerði is an amazing place for brunch! The location is charming, the atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, and the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. We had a great experience — the food was fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. We were especially happy to see that they offer vegan options, which were just as tasty and satisfying as everything else on the menu. It’s the kind of place where you feel at home right away. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy a high-quality brunch in Reykjavík, whether you’re vegan or not!

This is a hidden gem.. We found this place through a recommendation and very glad we did. They have a great selection of food. We ordered a burrata pizza, mascarpone meatballs, lasagne and slow cooked short ribs.. All of them were delicious. Loved each and every bite.

Wouldn't recommend - I had very high expectations for this place, as it came highly recommended. The sauce was so thick and heavily applied that it completely overwhelmed the pizza, especially the delicate flavor of the burrata. The only thing I could taste was the concentrated tomato puree. Despite reaching out the the restaurant, I feel my opinion fell on deaf ears as they focused on the quality of the sauce, rather than the quantity.
