⭐⭐⭐⭐½ If you’re after old-school adda vibes and a strong cuppa, Radhu Babu’s totally delivers. The tea is simple, comforting — black or milk, just how Kolkata loves it. The food hits too: mutton stew with toast is legendary here, plus fish fry, cutlets and kabiraji cutlets round out the snack game. Prices are super chill for what you get. What’s not perfect: seating is minimal, mostly roadside & plastic chairs, especially crowded in the evenings. If you don’t get there early, you might miss some of the non-veg items — many sell out fast. Also hygiene could be a bit better (but hey, the charm is part of it). Would totally go back. If you ever hit Kalighat/Lake Market, stop by Radhu Babu’s for tea + adda.

Must visit for good food lovers. Old world dishes, very local and packed with flavour. Recommended are all dishes off the menu

Came here for some mutton stew and bread and we weren't disappointed. Though it is not the same as what we get in Dacres lane, this one manages to hit the right spots on a warm summer evening. Service was quick, staff was well behaved and helpful too.

We ordered toast and soft omlette along with tea. Single omlette is rs 20 and toast is rs 22. Taste was good. Nice place to have breakfast. It is also busy during breakfast.

I tried the chicken cutlet of which the meat was bit hard and the coating was overcooked. Maybe not the right thing to try from here.

Today on 22nd February 2025 I have visited this restaurant Radhu Babu, Lake Market Area for the 3rd time. Location 8A, Janak Road opposite side of Lake Mall. After watching the movie Mere Husband Ki Biwi 2025 2nd Day 1st show from 10:45am - 1:30pm for Rs. 180/- at Cinepolis, Lake Mall Located in the 5th floor. And there I ordered 1 Tea for Rs. 10/- and 1 Fish Fry (Kabiraji) for Rs. 75/- and Fish Fingers (4 Pieces) for Rs. 85/- and with 2 rupees packing charges. My total amount was Rs. 172/- which I paid it in cash. Their Fish Fry (Kabiraji) was delicious 😋 and their Fish Fingers (4 Pieces) was tasty and healthy as well. Thank you so much Radhu Babu for making my day amazing 😍.

Chai, Egg, and Toast - Breakfast of champions. This is an old-school local tea shop selling breakfast, lunch, and dinner items, and we were lucky enough to partake in the breakfast. Pictured here is the double egg omlette and toast, with a Chai chaser. To order just roll up to the guy who's seated and place and order, then hover around and you'll get your food handed to you, there a little bit of organized chaos to this, but it's part of the charm. I'd gladly go back every day, but I need to give some other food places a try while in town 😁🍳🍞
