Hotel Barcelona 1882

"What's the vibe? When you approach Hotel Barcelona 1882, two things don’t just catch your eye; they practically poke you in it. First, you’re only a six-minute stroll from La Sagrada Familia, which, if you want to beat those queues—trust us, you do—gives you a leg up on the rest of Barcelona. Second is the throbbing, thronging, lobby-cum-bar that purrs around two street corners. Glimpse inside the floor-to-ceiling windows, palm trees, and patterned floor tiles trigger your inner FOMO. Give us the backstory on this place. The 1882 (which actually opened in November 2018) gets its name from March 19, 1882, when the very first stone of La Sagrada Familia was laid. Tell us about your room.Vibrant design is the hotel’s trademark, and rooms nod to that without throwing it in your face: vertically laid metro tiles in the shower, mustard yellow rugs, and a mini wooden Salvador Dalí for a fun, quirky touch. The hotel also worked to be accessible to all. Accessible Rooms come with adjusted bathroom and furniture height for wheelchair users, and eschew movement-restricting obstacles to make coming and going easier. How's the Wi-Fi?Free and fast. What's the dining and drinking scene like?Breakfast is the only meal here; it costs 15 euros, but the spread, that spans freshly prepared omelets to good croissants, is worth it. Once you've loaded up your plate, head to the outdoor terrace, a stunning space with wicker sofas, tropical-print cushions, brightly tiled tables, and a living plant wall made of monstera deliciosas. How did you find the service?Unlike many hotels where service starts and ends with your credit card, the 1882 offers free experiences that disrupt the impersonal staff-guest interaction. On Wednesdays at 9am: yoga. Saturdays at 6pm: a guided walking tour from reception to La Sagrada Familia and the Sant Pau Modernist site. What's the crowd like?Ages vary, from young couples on a see-everything crusade to parents who’ve left the kids at home. How's the neighborhood?Indie Gràcia is to the left; the well-to-do grid of Eixample is to the southwest; and Poblenou’s tech hub is to the right. Don’t panic that you’re far from the shops or sea—both are within a modest metro ride. Is there anything you'd change? Besides a few bar bites, there’s nary a full dinner to be had here—a shame, as the immediate streets don’t heave with options. The rooftop bar only opens in the evening during the summer season; outside of that, you have to schlep down to the lobby and back for liquids. Any standout features? The roof is outstanding. The design is very Soho House: geometric tiles, iron shelves loaded with greenery, sun beds that recline fully, and coffee tables built from slabs of reclaimed wood. Unlike Soho House, however, there's no membership needed to get a spot. There’s also a pool—oh, and views of La Sagrada Familia. What's the bottom line? This is a jazzy four-star hotel in an area that’s traditionally lacked great options—and one with a real buzz, at that." - Gemma Askham

Enjoyed two nights here. The service is absolutely impeccable, every member of staff I met was nice and helpfull. We had an issue with the shower and they came immediately. In general the hotel is modern (but not tacky) and clean, terrace is great and quiet. Breakfast was elaborate & better than most hotels ive been to. The only thing I would change is the safe (ours only worked with an app).

My parents stayed here over Christmas when visiting me. The location is good. It's 300 metres from the Sagrada Familia. The room was quite nice and a reasonable size. There were two negative issues though. Firstly, they asked for a wake up phone call to go to the airport. Nobody called! Secondly, room service didn't make their room up or change their towels fir two days in a row, even though they were out all day. One day could be a slip up but twice?!? This is clearly unacceptable in such an expensive hotel.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely Outstanding Stay! From the moment I arrived at the Radisson Blu in Barcelona, I knew this was going to be a special experience. The hotel is beautiful, modern, and perfectly located, but what truly made my stay unforgettable was the exceptional service. A special mention goes to Rodolfo and Jose – they are simply the best! Their professionalism, warm hospitality, and genuine care made me feel more like a valued guest than just a visitor. Whether it was helping with local recommendations, making sure every detail of my stay was perfect, or simply greeting me with a smile, they went above and beyond in every way. If you’re coming to Barcelona and want not just a great hotel, but an exceptional experience, Radisson Blu is the place – and make sure to say hello to Rodolfo and Jose. They’ll turn a great stay into an unforgettable one!

The roof top bar has way too much vegetation on their ledge which blocks their "selfie spot" of the Sagrada Familia!! The room was clean. Hard floors, no carpet ... so that's a plus! We had a Premium room with a King bed. The view was no good. The closet & storage area was open, as in no doors. ewww The lighting was horribly dim. The breakfast offered was outrageously expensive. There isn't a restaurant for dinner - but the room service menu was minimal. We went to the lobby bar twice & had to go up to the bar because bar staff never came out to wait on us - either night. I had to ask for 4 different hair dryers before I got one that actually worked. The second one actually sparked & made concerning noises! We never received wash cloths in our room!! I finally asked for a couple on our 3rd night & was told that "wash cloths are not a thing in Barcelona." I'm sorry, you're an international hotel - wash cloths are a thing internationally. There's also no face soap available!! The open closet storage in a premium room was a deal breaker for me. Would NOT recommend this hotel to friends or family.

Outstanding Hotel. From the roof top you have an amazing view on the sagrada familia, the reception is very kind and i absolutely recommend the free sagrada familia tour from 18:00 with Sergi, he has some very interesting facts and a deep inside knowlegde about the Basilica and the developement of the local Area.

I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience with Radisson. I booked 2 nights 11-13/Dec During my stay, I was overcharged by around EUR 100 compared to the confirmed reservation price. I raised the issue immediately at the front desk, but instead of resolving it, I was told to send an email after check-out. I did exactly that — multiple emails, to both the hotel and Radisson — and received no response at all. No explanation, no refund, no follow-up. Simply ignored. Mistakes can happen, but ignoring a guest entirely after overcharging them is not acceptable, especially for a brand that claims to value loyalty and VIP customers. Based on this experience, I have serious doubts about Radisson’s customer service standards and how they treat returning guests. I would strongly advise future guests to check their bills very carefully.

We had a wonderful stay at the Radisson Blu in Barcelona. The staff was extremely courteous and very responsive—when we had a small plumbing issue, they came immediately to fix it. The rooms were clean and comfortable, which made our stay very pleasant. We also loved the location—it’s so close to the Sagrada Familia and conveniently near the stop for the hop-on hop-off tour bus. Overall, a great experience and would definitely recommend!

Yelp
Now called the Radisson Blu but still includes Hotel Barcelona 1882 in the sinage. Whatsapp#: +34 689 48 66 66 Took a taxi here from the train station, bus station, and other parts of the city and taxis didn't know it by name. I'd suggest keeping a hotel business card handy to show to taxis. Great views, primo location. Give them a try.

Yelp
Gayle and I stayed here during our recent 3 night visit to Barcelona. The Hotel is just a few blocks from La Sagrada Familia and moderate walk from Las Ramblas and other central Barcelona sites. Hotel Barcelona 1882 has more of a corporate business trip feel, although when we took a Sunday look at the rooftop pool, it seemed like we were part of a hipster resort. Those folks made it down to breakfast (featuring an outstanding buffet and dining area) the next morning, of which Gayle pointed out these may indeed be business travelers. Our Superior room was comfortable (albeit small), with a nice shower, and had plenty of room to store our clothes and acquisitions from our approximate month in Spain. That helped significantly with the repack (including a suitcase we purchased along the way). One good thing to know is that the thermostat is connected to the window, so when you open it, don't expect any air conditional help. Once we figured out that the window needed to stay closed, our room temperature comfort was just fine. Front Desk service was stellar, including great restaurant recommendations (e.g. Teleferic), post office-related assistance (long story), check-in/check-out, and just general information in a friendly and well-spoken English manner.

Yelp
We enjoyed our visit at Radisson 1882 hotel. It is an upscale hotel located at a very central location in Barcelona. It's about 3 blocks from Sangrada Familia and only about 10 euro cab ride everywhere else. There are a lot of really wonderful restaurants in a walking distance. We especially love the cleanliness of the hotel. The hotel breakfast is really good as well - it worths trying! I can't brag enough about Radisson 1885 and can't wait to recommend this hotel to everyone.

Yelp
Traveling from the United States of America, Las Vegas, Nevada. This hotel was booked for me from Fleetway Travel LTD. My flight and hotel stay was all in a package I found on Groupon. (Came here January 2019) First, it was so hard to find any information on this hotel online so I was a little skeptical on what I was getting myself into. When my Uber driver (costed me about 35 euros from the airport) dropped me to my hotel, i look up, down, side to side and inside to be very shock on how nice this hotel was! I walked into the hotel and it was very clean and modern looking. The lobby was beautiful. Checking into the hotel was so easy and the gentleman that helped me was very nice, friendly & helpful. (ask for a free map) They do ask for a credit card up front and they did say there was a daily fee (I can't remember what it was but it wasn't that much) The elevators were located right next to the front desk so that was very easy and convenient. When I got to my floor (2nd) there were so many lights and it felt very safe walking to my room. I opened my room door and was very pleased on what I saw. (Tip: you have to put your room key inside this thing next to the door in order to turn on the lights) The room was very modern looking, neat and super duper clean! Reasons for 5 stars *Easy to use safe located in the drawer area *They give you one free bottle of water *The shower head (rainfall style) was great *Bed & Pillows was comfy *Good size TV (Smart TV, conner your phone) *Good area to hang your clothes *Mini Bar (no room for your personal food in it) *Nice lighting in the room *I love the full body mirror *Blow Dryer was great *Nice desk area *Gym is 24 hours (Tip bring your water bottle down there and they have cold filtered water, save money) *Free bike use (Ask for 100 euros to hold on card) *Towels are nice and fully *Maid cleaned my room everyday and was great I was located in the inside of the rooms so i didn't have a window view. They also have an outdoor pool on the 7th floor (not headed) and you can go up there to look at the view of Barcelona. Bonus info: The highlight of Barcelona is the Sagrada Familia and it's less than a 5 min walk. Makes sure you see this during the day and night since your so close. (Trust me, you'll thank me later)

Yelp
This hotel was a great find in Barcelona. It was chic, new and also very affordable. The room was spacious and modern with a cute mini balcony. The rainfall shower was the highlight of the bathroom. They let me upgrade to a triple room at the last minute when I remembered I hadn't changed my reservation at the airport. For that, I was very thankful and the check-in was fairly easy. However, the hotel staff really weren't as warm and friendly as they could be for some reason. We got some looks and stares whenever we spent time in the lobby area. Also, their wine happy "hour" begins at 5 pm but, apparently, can end at any time. Like even at 5:20 pm? That makes no sense but they all shrugged at the notion that it was weird to not have it for an hour. We were lucky to enjoy a glass of wine at check-in but missed it by 15 minutes the next day. It was 5:40 pm. I would stay here again because of the great value for such a nice hotel.

Jeffrey E.

Yelp
This hotel is dope af. I don't even know how it only has 3 reviews. It's clean and the staff is super friendly. Not to mention every day at 17:00 to 17:15 they have a free wine and cheese plate "happy hour" for free. The rooms are comfortable and the pool is nice. They have an amazing view of la Sagrada Família on their rooftop which closes at 21:00 sharp. So take your selfies early. I would stay here every time I go to Barcelona.

Yelp
Wonderful hotel! Rooms are spacious for Europe and are nicely decorated. We had breakfast at the hotel every morning, and it was great! Overall we loved our stay! It is a bit far from the beach so make sure you get very familiar with the metro! It really is no problem to get around the entire city.

Tim M.

Yelp
Stayed here two nights, very nice hotel! Great pool but closes a little early (2100). Breakfast layout is one of the best. The rooms are good, although our king bed is two doubles pushed together. Staff is great, very helpful.
