We stayed at Radisson Blu Hotel Al Ain from February 28 to March 1 to celebrate our daughter’s birthday. Unfortunately, the overall experience was disappointing.
On the positive side, the room was clean, and the bellboy was genuinely friendly and welcoming. A baby crib was also provided as requested.
However, several service and communication issues affected our stay.
While waiting 30–40 minutes for our room to be ready, I asked reception if there was a breastfeeding area available. I was told there was none and no alternative solution was suggested. I ended up feeding my baby in the women’s restroom, which was uncomfortable and unexpected in a family-oriented hotel.
Prior to arrival, we requested a small birthday surprise for our daughter. At check-in, we were told to call reception when ready. Later that evening, the staff on duty had no record of the request and said they would check and call back. No follow-up was made, and no surprise was arranged. The lack of internal communication was disappointing, especially given that this stay was meant to celebrate a special occasion.
The family pool, the main reason we chose this hotel, was closed. Although we were informed via email one day before arrival, this was not clearly indicated at the time of booking through Booking.com. The alternative pool setup did not feel fully safe for children, as the slide landing area overlaps with the kids’ swimming space. My daughter was accidentally hit by a float during swimming time. Thankfully she was not injured, and the lifeguard assisted immediately, but the setup did not feel ideal for young children.
We also had to check out early at 3:00 AM due to an emergency call for my husband, who works as a government paramedic. As a result, we were unable to experience the included breakfast and did not fully enjoy our stay.
Overall, 4/10 — mainly for the clean room and friendly bell staff. Better communication, coordination, and family-focused service would have significantly improved our experience.
