Radisson Blu Hotel, Basel

I had a truly wonderful stay! The room was very comfortable with an exceptional bed, and the cleanliness was absolutely spotless. The amenities were great, and the spa area — especially the beautifully designed swimming pool — adds a unique and special touch to the property. Breakfast was excellent. Most importantly, the service was outstanding — every staff member I interacted with was kind, professional, and genuinely welcoming. I’ll definitely be coming back and look forward to staying here again!

Great hôtel but some points could be better. For the price, the bathroom is too small. On the breakfast side, some products lack quality (like pastries). The breakfast dishware could be better (like for cappucino)... Overall the hotel is a good place to stay, it is missing smalls details that could make it really much better.

Great Hotel. It is close to everything. Free travel with the Basel card. Also reduced rate for activities too. Jean was so so lovely. As a family we enjoyed the hospitality. He is a great staff. He made us feel special every time he saw us. Great customer service and care. Thank you Jean. Wr appreciate you. We would be back.

Front desk staff seemed annoyed when asked for assistance. They didn’t offer early check-in the first time I asked but eventually did after I requested it multiple times. When I got into the room, there was no coffee maker so I called down and one was brought to my room but the coffee maker they brought to me was broken! The TV was ancient and we were unable to use streaming services or cast from our phone. There were only 2 channels in English - CNN and Bloomberg, and closed caption did not work either. The pool was nice but the spa had a co-ed naked sauna and steam room. I was very uncomfortable being the only woman in the area with multiple men walking around naked. There was no alternative for me to use the services without being exposed to naked men. I realize this is cultural but still made me feel uncomfortable. The pool closed at 5pm on Sunday! When I asked why it closed so early I was told it was due to religious observance. The lobby and halls were nicely decorated, clean and modern; unfortunately the same cannot be said for the rooms which were very basic. The neighborhood was conveniently located and easy to get to many attractions but it very loud on Friday and Saturday nights. Skip the overpriced hotel breakfast and walk across the street to the local bakery which is inexpensive and delicious!

Very spacious room but very small bathroom. I ordered room service, the food was good but it was delivered to the room uncovered so it had started to go cold! Breakfast was good, plenty of choice.

Avoid. Worst hotel room I’ve stayed in for years. No wardrobe, just a hook on the wall. It also smelled awful, like something spilled. No walk in shower, water in bath ran from hot to cold to hot. Awfully attitude from reception staff, when I arrived at 11:30 am to check in, said to come back at 3pm and couldn’t tell me anything about my room. Said my bag would be brought up to my room for me. When i returned at 5pm after work, the staff literally rolled her eyes at me after hanging over my key, when I asked if my bag was already there. No other rooms apparently available, even though I arrived at 11:30. Mysteriously all my male colleagues, who checked in later, were upgraded to suites. For 300 CHF a night, that stinking tiny room with no wardrobe and not good water, only one towel, can only be described as a prison cell. Having to live out of a suitcase for a week of formal conference events is unmanageable. Do yourself a favour, only book this place if you have no clothes to change and you don’t need to wash.

Very centrally located near railway station in Basel||Great restaurant - really nice food and outstanding service||Staff generally very helpful||Parking underneath hotel very limited and narrow and height limited spots. I woukd avoid that!||Rooms small - ok for one ir two nights. Hotel is older but clean||Coffee is disappointing nescafe sachets - no fresh milk either. Not really the standard for business hotels

I really enjoyed the spa and sauna. Went here twice already. Karlos was very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately some international guests are not respectful to the local sauna culture but the staff is doing there best.

Location location location! Easy to walk to restaurants, nightlife and sightseeing locations. In addition, public transportation is right out the front lobby. The hotel common areas and rooms, nicely decorated and updated. The hotel staff were all very nice in general. Amenities all good, gym, water stations and restaurants. My friend and I stayed 3 nights and 4 days in mid September. First night we arrived in the evening, check-in was flawless, staff was very friendly and informative. Our room was fairly big, nicely decorated, hardwood floors and it felt clean. The bed comfortable and the air conditioning worked well. There was a coffee machine, mini refrigerator and safe. Bathroom were nice but tiny. The Gym was good, plenty of towels, a water bottle filling station, disinfectant spray and paper towels. I saw a lot of early morning swimmers walk through the hallway from the glass window I was biking from. We had the breakfast buffet every morning before setting off to sightseeing. The breakfast selection was perfect, cold meats, cheeses, hot dishes along with a large selection of breads, pastries, plenty of coffee machines and juices, couldn't ask for better. I would definitely stay here again.

Air conditioning is horrible, staff is unreceptive to requests. Says they can't change the air conditioning and yet the other hotels have no problem. Did not make me feel safe. A key card is not needed for the elevator. As a business woman traveling solo this is not cool. Will not recommend to colleagues.

I have been staying at the Radisson Blu in Basel for years. My recent stay, however, was not up to standard. The hotel staff at the front desk was lovely and accommodating, the restaurant staff as well, and the hotel was beautiful. Unfortunately the housekeeping was sub-par and I never felt that the room was kept clean enough or tended to properly. When we arrived the bathroom's vanity kit was completely empty, numerous times our garbage wasn't emptied (even thought it was completely full), and our soap dispenser wasn't refilled even though I made several requests. I used to love staying here in the past, but I will need to find a new hotel for future stays.

This is a great hotel. I'm not in the greatest of the neighborhood, but it's a good hotel chain and the staff friendly and so all the other people.

Clean. Pleasant. Smaller rooms but still a comfy king bed. Well appointed. Small frig for drinks. Bathroom should be more private. A/C was mediocre at best. Overall a nice place that missed the mark on a few details

This is one of our favorite locations when touring with Princess for one day, the world's #1 make-over event. We come here frequently since 2002 - and attitude and event locations were always immaculate. Sadly, they are not available for the forthcoming tour. Highly recommended.

I wasn't sure what to expect as Radisson's are hit or miss, but this place was fantastic! Very close to the city center and they give you a free transit card, which REALLY makes everything convenient, especially since the tram stop is directly across the street from the hotel. Breakfast was awesome, beds were very comfortable and the staff are friendly and helpful.

Best Breakfast Ever! Not a big fan of breakfast in general, but this breakfast buffet is truly amazing! A bit pricey, (but everything in Switzerland is) but what a selection! Yummy meats and cold cuts, baked goods, cereals, yogurt, fresh fruit, juices, eggs, on and on. One of my best memories of Basel! One of the best breakfast in the world! (seriously) Check out my pictures and see if it doesn't make your mouth water!

Erstaunt hat mich vor allem das große Zimmer. Allerdings weist das Badezimmer nicht meine Wunschausstattung aus, denn es verfügt über keinen Whirlpool. Die Minibar war prall gefüllt, vor allem alkoholische Getränke waren vorzufinden, was mich dagegen sehr erfreut hat. Den Zimmerservice habe ich auch getestet. Mit dem Ergebnis, dass ich um 2:00 Uhr morgens eine Pizza Hawaii aufs Zimmer gebracht kriegte. (Man zahlt natürlich auch dafür.)

I can't compare to other hotesl in Basel but I think this is a good hotel. - Free wifi!! Unlike most known-hotels like Hilton, Radisson offers free wifi and it works very well everywhere in the hotel. - Friendly staff: very friendly and courteous staff at the front desk and everywhere. I got standard room but it had only one full size bed and I needed two beds for me and my friend. The hotel upgraded the room to business class room that has two beds (it's typical that two twin beds put next to each other to make queen size bed). - Comfortable bed and spacious room: Room is spacious and it comes with small mini-bar, decent size bathroom, good desk and Nespresso!! -Great location: It's located right next to old town and good walking distance to Markplatz and river. You can take Tram 10 from the train station after you get off the bus from the airport. When you take the Tram number 10, the hotel is at the 4th station. - Gym/pool: This hotel has good size nice swimming pool and small gym but has new equipment. If I come back to Basel, I might consider staying here again. I don't have reward membership with Radisson so that is only reason I might consider other hotels.. PS: Breakfast buffet is 32CHF but it's not considered expensive in Switzerland since most entree is around 35-55CHF. If you need another option, there is a bakery right front of the hotel and you can get very good pastries, coffee or bread.

This hotel is located very close to the SBB train station and just in the heart of old town (& lots of shopping) very easy to get around.

Radisson Blu located in the centre of Basel is a very convenient and pleasant place to stay. With trams stops outside the Hotel, for which you are provided with a pass for your stay, there is no excuse to fully explore Basel.
