Radisson Blu Hotel, Basel

Stayed 3 nights (2 rooms) during July 2025 and while the hotel is very nice, the rooms were SO HOT, despite advertising air conditioning. Both rooms had this problem one on the first floor and another in the 4th floor. You could feel a significant difference between the temperature in the hall where it was comfortable and then walking into the room where it was hot. Even after they brought us fans, it was still too hot! So wouldn't stay here again in summer months. We stayed at other hotels across Europe during this time and didn't have the same issue, the AC is just not good here. ||Now that I got that out of the way, we enjoyed everything else about the stay and would come again in cooler months. Very nice and clean, friendly and accommodating staff, good size rooms with comfortable beds. The breakfast spread was excellent and we also enjoyed dinner at the hotel one night. It's a short walk to everything including a tram stop and the train station, and tons of restaurants a few blocks away. You get a Basel Card at check in for free tram rides!

Lovely hotel with a very central location. Excellent transport links and staff were very friendly. Nice to have an espresso machine in the room and kettle. Fast food available on the doorstep and open until late.

Overall a very good experience in our junior suite. Large and roomy. Front desk staff was excellent, Vivien and Ismail are the names I remember but there was also a young lady who was equally helpful. We had a problem with TVs not working properly and technician wasn’t available. Also some hour room was not serviced Sunday. Great location and everything was within walking distance.

No airco. Heat outside in combination with the bathroom mirror heating makes it a horror to stay here. The room temperature was unbearable. A basic facility like proper climate control should be expected in a hotel of this category. ||||What made it worse is that staff kept making promises (not related to this airco issue) but nothing was ever followed through. Several requests were ignored or delayed. Overall, very disappointing service and extremely uncomfortable stay. Definitely not recommended.

The room itself is spacious and nice, but for sure needs some touch up, especially the bathroom. Things are falling apart and not very appealing to see, not for this price. The front desk could be more attentive, when you come in, instead of staring at your phone, you should see who’s entering the hotel. The location is perfect!

3 - good. The lobby and public facilities of the hotel are nice. Rooms were not so good - they were a little grubby with multiple marks and stains on the walls. Also the airco is more like a weak fan, which was unfortunate as the room became very warm. Breakfast was nice and all the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The location is also very convenient.

I recently checked in and would like to first acknowledge the welcoming lobby atmosphere and the attentiveness of your staff. Unfortunately, I am disappointed with the condition and design of the room assigned to me. The layout of the glass bathroom wall and door compromises privacy, as the space remains visible even when the door is closed. This effect is further amplified by the large mirror directly opposite, which creates an uncomfortable lack of discretion. While I appreciate modern design, such arrangements are not always practical or suitable for all guests. In addition, upon opening one of the wardrobe closets, I discovered dirty socks left behind by a previous occupant, indicating that housekeeping may have overlooked this area. Furthermore, the chair in the room feels unstable, as though it may detach from its platform with use. I trust that you will take these concerns seriously and address them accordingly, both for my current stay and for future guests. Later that same evening; went to wash up; and the sink hand soap dispenser was empty; went to take a shower; and the shower gel bottle was empty. All in all the entire experience certainly was not enjoyable.

The hotel is very nice! Clean and today. The staff are very kind and the location is perfect for us ☺️ the opening times for the pool as wonderful so our kid could enjoyed that 100% We will definitely come back to stay here.

Location location location! Easy to walk to restaurants, nightlife and sightseeing locations. In addition, public transportation is right out the front lobby. The hotel common areas and rooms, nicely decorated and updated. The hotel staff were all very nice in general. Amenities all good, gym, water stations and restaurants. My friend and I stayed 3 nights and 4 days in mid September. First night we arrived in the evening, check-in was flawless, staff was very friendly and informative. Our room was fairly big, nicely decorated, hardwood floors and it felt clean. The bed comfortable and the air conditioning worked well. There was a coffee machine, mini refrigerator and safe. Bathroom were nice but tiny. The Gym was good, plenty of towels, a water bottle filling station, disinfectant spray and paper towels. I saw a lot of early morning swimmers walk through the hallway from the glass window I was biking from. We had the breakfast buffet every morning before setting off to sightseeing. The breakfast selection was perfect, cold meats, cheeses, hot dishes along with a large selection of breads, pastries, plenty of coffee machines and juices, couldn't ask for better. I would definitely stay here again.

I have been staying at the Radisson Blu in Basel for years. My recent stay, however, was not up to standard. The hotel staff at the front desk was lovely and accommodating, the restaurant staff as well, and the hotel was beautiful. Unfortunately the housekeeping was sub-par and I never felt that the room was kept clean enough or tended to properly. When we arrived the bathroom's vanity kit was completely empty, numerous times our garbage wasn't emptied (even thought it was completely full), and our soap dispenser wasn't refilled even though I made several requests. I used to love staying here in the past, but I will need to find a new hotel for future stays.

This is a great hotel. I'm not in the greatest of the neighborhood, but it's a good hotel chain and the staff friendly and so all the other people.

Clean. Pleasant. Smaller rooms but still a comfy king bed. Well appointed. Small frig for drinks. Bathroom should be more private. A/C was mediocre at best. Overall a nice place that missed the mark on a few details

This is one of our favorite locations when touring with Princess for one day, the world's #1 make-over event. We come here frequently since 2002 - and attitude and event locations were always immaculate. Sadly, they are not available for the forthcoming tour. Highly recommended.

I wasn't sure what to expect as Radisson's are hit or miss, but this place was fantastic! Very close to the city center and they give you a free transit card, which REALLY makes everything convenient, especially since the tram stop is directly across the street from the hotel. Breakfast was awesome, beds were very comfortable and the staff are friendly and helpful.

Best Breakfast Ever! Not a big fan of breakfast in general, but this breakfast buffet is truly amazing! A bit pricey, (but everything in Switzerland is) but what a selection! Yummy meats and cold cuts, baked goods, cereals, yogurt, fresh fruit, juices, eggs, on and on. One of my best memories of Basel! One of the best breakfast in the world! (seriously) Check out my pictures and see if it doesn't make your mouth water!

Erstaunt hat mich vor allem das große Zimmer. Allerdings weist das Badezimmer nicht meine Wunschausstattung aus, denn es verfügt über keinen Whirlpool. Die Minibar war prall gefüllt, vor allem alkoholische Getränke waren vorzufinden, was mich dagegen sehr erfreut hat. Den Zimmerservice habe ich auch getestet. Mit dem Ergebnis, dass ich um 2:00 Uhr morgens eine Pizza Hawaii aufs Zimmer gebracht kriegte. (Man zahlt natürlich auch dafür.)

I can't compare to other hotesl in Basel but I think this is a good hotel. - Free wifi!! Unlike most known-hotels like Hilton, Radisson offers free wifi and it works very well everywhere in the hotel. - Friendly staff: very friendly and courteous staff at the front desk and everywhere. I got standard room but it had only one full size bed and I needed two beds for me and my friend. The hotel upgraded the room to business class room that has two beds (it's typical that two twin beds put next to each other to make queen size bed). - Comfortable bed and spacious room: Room is spacious and it comes with small mini-bar, decent size bathroom, good desk and Nespresso!! -Great location: It's located right next to old town and good walking distance to Markplatz and river. You can take Tram 10 from the train station after you get off the bus from the airport. When you take the Tram number 10, the hotel is at the 4th station. - Gym/pool: This hotel has good size nice swimming pool and small gym but has new equipment. If I come back to Basel, I might consider staying here again. I don't have reward membership with Radisson so that is only reason I might consider other hotels.. PS: Breakfast buffet is 32CHF but it's not considered expensive in Switzerland since most entree is around 35-55CHF. If you need another option, there is a bakery right front of the hotel and you can get very good pastries, coffee or bread.

This hotel is located very close to the SBB train station and just in the heart of old town (& lots of shopping) very easy to get around.

Radisson Blu located in the centre of Basel is a very convenient and pleasant place to stay. With trams stops outside the Hotel, for which you are provided with a pass for your stay, there is no excuse to fully explore Basel.
