"The Radisson Blu brand may be known for its Scandinavian midcentury design, but the Royal Hotel, in the heart of Brussels , has a far older pedigree. In the soaring atrium at the heart of the art deco–inspired building sit the remains of the city’s first wall, originally constructed in the 12th century. This dichotomy between old and new persists throughout the luxury hotel, itself pulled in two directions as a business-focused hotel on the edge of the city’s historic center. The greenhouse-style restaurant and lounge surrounding the Romanesque wall have an Old World elegance to them, contrasting harmoniously with the sleek modernity of the glass ceiling and soaring geometric walls. Different rooms channel different parts of the hotel’s identity, some outfitted with midcentury Danish design–inspired furnishings, others with the wood and leather of a slick urban loft. Even the Michelin-starred restaurant vacillates, its decor taking inspiration from a refined 1930s private club while its cuisine reimagines Belgian seafood in avant garde ways."

We had to book a room at the hotel very last minute on Saturday night as our Eurostar train was cancelled.|When we arrived the staff at reception were very friendly and helpful. In particular Lennie who went over and above to get us a phone charger, tooth brushes, etc. It was really appreciated in a very stressful situation.|The hotel itself is lovely. It has a great bar as you walk in and very well stocked. |The rooms were superb and had everything you needed including a very well stocked paid for minibar. |The location is also very good, just 5 to 10 minute walk to Central station and The Grand Place. Albeit a flying visit, I would both recommend and stay again next time I visit Brussels.

It was nice hotel and very walkable to all the attractions. We took taxi to the hotel and it was about 20 min with 18 euros. Room was clean and bedding was good. Breakfast was pretty expensive but there are plenty of cafes and bakeries within walking distance. Lobby had luxurious feel and concierge was friendly.

The service is very poor — I do not recommend this hotel at all. If you’re looking for a comfortable stay with good service, do not include this hotel in your options. When I requested room service, they did not provide basic amenities like a toothbrush. At night, no one responded, and when they finally did, they asked me to come down and get it myself because there were no staff available at the so-called 5-star hotel during the night.

Beautiful hotel, great breakfast, very wide selection. Room very nice, we had a Jnr Suite for a family of 4. But my wife is a super sensitive sleeper, and there's seemed to be a giant romba humming around at 3am every night. Plus the Mrs didn't like how dark the decor and lighting was in the room...else well located to launch into the action of Brussels

Turns out that rooms are allocated in some random fashion which is apparently why they couldn't give me the room I actually booked... When that is your main job as a hotel that's pretty damning. ||||Also still waiting for the deposit I had to pay in addition to the room cost to be refunded. ||||On the positives, it's a clean well furnished hotel, but I'm not sure they actually care about their guests. Definitely not good value for money though.

Fantastic hotel in the heart of the city! The location is ideal, the rooms are stylish and comfortable, and the staff is incredibly welcoming. Great breakfast, clean facilities, and overall top-notch service. Highly recommend for both business and leisure stays.

I generally really love this hotel. It's not my first time. The rooms are spacious and reception and breakfast staff attentive and superb. However, I am knocking off stars because I had a negative experience this time around. I was returning to my room after breakfast, and as I opened the door, I bumped into a cleaning lady COMING OUT of my room! She muttered in French that she was checking if someone was in the room before cleaning it. I don't believe this as there was no need to go inside and then close the door behind her, to check if someone was in the room! Furthermore, it was early in the morning and not yet check-out time. I had left all my valuables in plain site, including my wallet, as I had not expected my private space to be invaded while at breakfast! My wallet had bills sticking out and I am certain I do not close it with money falling out. I have no proof of how much was taken so cannot report this, only that a cleaning lady came into my room without my permission. This happened on 13/02 on the 3rd floor at 8am. I reported this to reception and they agreed it is not normal that a cleaning person entered my room at this odd time. Very disappointing at such a nice hotel! I expect a lack of security in the public areas, but not on floors where you need your room card to access, and certainly not in my private room! Not happy.

Beautiful hotel situated in a great location close to the centre. All staff members were extremely friendly and helpful. The only downside was the buffet breakfast . There was only quite a small choice of items . The hot food was stored in cast iron dishes but seemed lukewarm. Very small choice of fruit . Great coffee machines though
