For long distance travel with a child, you better be well prepared. For my family, this means that we usually split flights in shorter segments of 8hours max and then spent 13 to 24 hours in a hotel before getting on the next flight.|This time we had a stop over in Oman and picked this hotel due to location, star rating, ameneties and tripadvisor rating.|The hotel is very easy to get to. We arrived early in the morning by taxi from the airport at a cost of 6,5 omr. Check in was swift and professional. We had breakfast, which we all liked very much. A great variety of western, local and east asian food.|We didn't get as much sleep on the airplane as we had hoped so we went to sleep for a few hours. The room was very nicely furnished, spacious, very clean and showed no sign of wear and tear. That day was especially hot and humid, but the room temperature was already set to 19C went we first entered the room. The bathroom alone was the size of a regular hotel room at Hilton Dusseldorf.|In the afternoon we spend most of the time at the pool. It is cleverly located in a doug out area in the basement. That way there was lots of shade while still out in the open and direct sun for those who were brave enough.|We had some drinks from the bar while lounging at the pool, which where excellent.|I briefly visited the lounge, located on the top floor. It featured coffee, soda pops and cookies during the day and some food and dips and snacks for the evening spread. I think I also saw some wine and liquor.|Taking a so called "hotel taxi" back to the airport was a bit more expensive but didn't break the bank.|It was a great stay, delivering precisely what we needed: A luxurios, quiet place to recharge the batteries before getting back on an airplane. Staying with a child was absolutly no problem and his needs were well looked after by hotel staff.|In fact, when checking out I already booked a room for our returning flight in a few weeks. Sadly, we will again only spend a few hours in Oman, but we will have to come back for longer for sure.||Note: Some reviews mentioned that rooms to the front can be a bit more noisy. This was not our experience, but we only slept there during the day.
