Stayed 5 days here, Staff could improve on a lot of things, first of all the humidity inside, when i entered the room the AC was set on Freezer, when i switch it off i realized why, the room became instant soaking wet, condensation was dripping from the walls, thought to set the AC on heat to vaporize the moisture but no the AC even kept colder, instead of that i opened the balcony door and by leaving warm outside air in the humidity dissapeared quickly, left the AC off for the rest of the night, but guess what when i came back the maid again left the AC on Alaska setting, repeated clearing the room by opening balcony door. Then next, every single day i had to ask for waterbottles in the room, they never left some after cleaning up the room, you can use the bottle of water what is on the tray to make your coffee (there is a coffeemaker above the fridge) but that bottle is on the mini-bar and cost you "only" 6 dollars (mad house), snacks and drinks on the mini-bar are way too expensive. Then they have no own restaurant, only breakfast available, Breakfast in hotel is ok continental with all basic stuff, but sometimes the service is only managed by one person so when there are some people already you need to wait a long time before being served coffee. So for meals you need to go outside (and i do recommend that) there is an adjacent bulding with an indoor entrance to a reastaurant called Fridays they don´t offer discount on hotelguests and inside the airco is the same as the hotel, setting Alaska. I do recommend to go to the Canal-House a very cousy restaurant palapa style with outdoor seating and bar as well, they serve good food and ambiance is great, live performance every evening. The pool i haven´t seen many people around when i was there, just on Sunday there were just 3 persons, for me the pool doesn´t invite too much, it´s not deep and it´s divided in 3 small pools, it looks more to a childrens play pool to me than one for adults, there is a bubbly pool but also not too much inviting either. Then the gym you need to ask where it is because if you don´t know where it is you are looking until you lost weight already, it´s just in the hall on the right hand side before the pool, there is a glass door and you need your roomkey to enter, don´t expect too much, there are just a few basic equipments you can use. And after all they claim to have a airport shuttle, indeed they do have but don´t be surprised they still call a taxi for you, that service they offer is only for groups of <10 persons, so you are way better off by calling an uber, much cheaper and way more convinient. Te location of the hotel is ok, close to the canal boulevard where you can stroll, rent a bike or scooter and go all the way to the end (4km), where you can find some nice bars, restaurants and a nice view. In the weekends there is a buzzing vibe as many people go out to enjoy and so the ambiance is great there. This hotel is the only one close to the convention center and many nice bars and restaurants are on walking distance, have seen a lot of them: Friday (menu typical), Canal house(Cousy place), La fabrica Brewery (nice in the weekend), Pencas (nice pizzas), Ciao Bella (italian ant the end of the boulevard near the cruise terminal). Overall this hotel is soso for me, next time will choose another one.

My husband and I have stayed at this hotel many times and have always enjoyed our stays. It’s in a great location for us. We enjoy the quiet and relaxed atmosphere surrounding the hotel. Just close enough to the city for sightseeing or shopping trips. Pool has been recently restored with new tiles which look nice.

Perfect stay before Windstar Cruise for two nights. Enjoyed seeing the ships move to the Panama Canal and nice walking path all along the water. Room was comfortable and clean and staff was helpful and friendly. Food and bar was a plus and there is a bar/restaurant next door with outside dining. I really enjoyed my stay and hotel used their shuttle to take those of us on Windstar to the port for free, a real nice touch that was appreciated. I sure made a great choice for my first trip to Panama.

The view of the ocean from my balcony was wonderful. Ships coming and going was entertaining. The room was comfortable and clean. Good water pressure and AC. In room coffee maker, microwave and fridge. It would have been a great experience except the pool was closed!!! One of the reasons for selecting the hotel was the pool and hot tub. I was so disappointed. It was a scheduled maintenance so it should have been publicized on the website. I wasn’t informed on check in either. So I had my swimsuit on ready to go and was told it was closed when I got there. Unacceptable. If this is an important amenity for you, be sure to contact hotel first. Housekeeping was great but front desk staff could use some additional training in customer service/relations especially Arselis .

Excellent front desk. But the hotel smells musky and moldy. Pipes very loud. AC extremely loud. I didn’t sleep well. Perhaps put central AC for main hallways and replace the bedroom AC. Clean out the mold.

The hotel is very conveniently located to the Canal. The restaurant Fridays and the lobby cafe were an added plus and the pool area is beautiful. However, the Jacuzzi was Luke warm and shuts off automatically instead of letting you turn it on when needed. The breakfast was not hot and the tub in my room had black spots in it. The molding in the room could use a dress coat of paint. The pillows and bedding were very comfortable in the second room. We had to move due to a weak internet signal

I recommend the hotel only for folks who book an ocean-view room with balcony on the Panama Canal. The ability to enjoy at leisure the traffic on the canal is superb. There's also a lovely walkway along the canal; you can walk to the Biomuseo on this pretty route. In all other respects, the property is not only average, it's far from city center and the airport. A couple of small, but useful grocery markets are about a 15-minute walk away. Amiable housekeeping staff. Somewhat aloof reception staff. Much nickel-and-diming at the hotel, such as the mini-bar "amenity" that took up fully half of the granite bar prep area and ALL of the fridge space that I had paid for. The shuttle bus "amenity" is to a shopping mall only, where guests are dropped for three+ hours before the return trip. The room is gosh-darn cold from the a/c, but it's necessary to prevent the fogging of windows and mirrors in the room because of Panama City's humidity. So bring a warm outer layer for inside the room. The desk's power outlet in my room did not function unless I depressed the bottom power button by the hotel door to activate the specific socket on the wall outlet below the desk. This required detective work on my part, as there is no signage, further confounded by the fact that the other socket on the very same wall outlet DOES work for the desk lamp, even when said power button by door is not depressed. It's difficult to see the floor numbers in the elevators, as there is little contrast between the steel plate background and the etched floor numbers. But again, at the end of the day, if a terrific view of the Panama Canal is high on your list, then this one feature might override the annoyances. But only if you pop for the ocean view. Breakfast "included" only if you opt in for an additional fee.
