First off, let me admit that our visit to the Windward Islands started at the tail end of a storm. The inclement weather did not make for the best impressions but I will try to take that into account.
_On the positive side:_
The site and the view from the rooms were very nice, or would be in great weather. Our room had (or would have had) a great view out on the beach and a view of Mo'orea in the distance.
The staff was very friendly and even though a reservation snafu had us with one confirmed early check-in and one not (we were traveling with friends), they were able to check both of us in early, even ahead of the stated early check-in time (a big plus for arriving at the crack of dawn!).
Complimentary WiFi in the reception and pool bar area.
_On the negative side:_
The room was a bit outdated, the doors on either side of the bathroom were sticky and would not close properly.
The circuit breaker for the room kept tripping even though we weren't really over-using any electricity. The AC was spotty at best (and this wasn't helped by the circuit breaker for the room going off all the time) and eventually stopped working altogether.
The resort was not at all well setup to handle a rainstorm. Walkways were basically underwater despite efforts to keep them clean and to put barriers around them. Even on the third floor of our building, the windswept rain flooded out the area around the elevator.
There are no ice machines in the buildings themselves (??), instead one had to walk all the way to the pool bar to ask for ice.
There was only a single shuttle into Papeete, not the two mentioned in other reviews. Further, it left fairly early and by the time we finished getting to our rooms, unpacking, resting for a bit, and getting to the lobby to ask we had already missed it. I would expect an hourly shuttle service for this type of thing, or at least four daily shuttles (two in the morning, two in the afternoon).
_Bottom Line:_
Even accounting for the weather and how it likely influenced our view of the hotel and services, I cannot give any better than an "poor" rating for this. It would be average for a Best Western or similar but given its price and the fact that I've actually had better facilities in cheaper places I have to rate this as I did. I would not recommend this resort to others based on my experience.
