We stayed at the Radisson RED Brussels for two nights. It was a very cute and kitschy property - I loved the décor and the light airy atmosphere, as well as the staff.
There was an area of adorable little seating pods in the lobby, with a giant selfie screen, as well as a foozball table in the common area. The walls on each floor were papered with giant comic strips and the carpet on each floor was a neat zig zag pattern. We had a twin room (two twin beds) and there were the two twin beds, but they were pushed together to form a queen. I didn't see a way to separate them easily, but we were fine with that.
The dressers in the rooms were like adorable red doll trunks with cute vanity lights and full length mirror doors inside. Our room also had a couch and coffee table near the TV, and a picnic style table in the sitting area.
The windows opened a crack, but they open outward from above, like they would fall on your head - except they catch on a latch before knocking you in your noggin. Just something to be aware of if you are wanting fresh air!The bathroom was large and very clean. There is a motion activated light in the bathroom which was nice for when you get up to go to the restroom in the middle of the night and you don't want to turn on the lights to wake your travel companion.
The shower was a little bit hard to gauge and was on a delay, so be aware that you have to twist the temperature knob to where you want it, then wait for it to actually become that temperature. It doesn't switch temperatures right away, so just have some patience before twirling it back over and getting frustrated.
The location was in a more businessy district, right near the European Commission, the European Parliament buildings and some other large business buildings nearby. This makes for a very clean neighborhood, with little to no graffiti or litter - however, it also makes for some rather light options when it comes to restaurants and shops in the area being opened late or on the weekends.
There is a cute park nearby with pieces of the Berlin Wall on display, which was very cool to see. A metro stop is very close as well, to get to other areas of the city very easily!Overall, this was an adorable and affordable hotel in a very nice and clean area of the city. I would recommend this, especially for those that have business at the nearby government buildings or want a quieter area of Brussels but with a nearby public transport option!
