"Step back a little bit, and tell us about this place.A stone’s throw from the Zeitz MOCAA, the Radisson effectively enjoys the same prime location as the Silo Hotel within the Silo Design Precinct that has sprung up around the museum. But that’s where similarities between the two end. The Radisson is like the cheeky upstart to the Silo’s glamorous older sister. Radisson Red’s signature red modern facade, with rounded corners, looks a bit like a giant piece of Lego that fell out of the sky into the Waterfront. Initially it’s difficult to find the entrance (there are, in fact, two) but once in, it’s child’s play. The playful theme continues with squishy sofas, a refreshment station (help yourself to complimentary caramel popcorn, coffee, and freshly squeezed OJ), and a row of computers. Who's staying here?A lot of hip, young families, designer kids in tow; trendy young couples, and girl gangs spending the weekend in the city. Onto the good stuff: Tell us about your room. One of 252 studios, the room is a minimalist, utilitarian, color-coded box with big windows, which can’t be opened (hate that). It has everything you need, nothing more, nothing less. The queen-sized bed is dressed in crisp white linen, the only softness in the room, and framed by abstract tribal wallpaper in monochromatic red. There’s also a dining table in a bay window with mixed seating (chairs and a Cape-influenced riempie bench) for in-room picnics or work space. Convenient plugs next to the bed. Ample cupboards with funky wooden antler-shaped handles. You can stream your devices to the smart TV, which means you can finish the Netflix movie you started last night. You can also screen mirror your iPhone to it, and watch videos. In the small bathroom, red and white subway tiles become a feature in the walk-in shower and an illuminated round mirror shines down brightly from above the basin, good for checking makeup. There’s a special water-saving flusher on the loo, which makes sense as Cape Town is a water-wise city. How about the little things, like the mini bar, or shower goodies? Anything that made your stay a little more comfortable?Wi-Fi was super fast, and free. Caramel popcorn on the dining table as a welcome snack. How about food offerings? Should we grab a bite here, or head off campus?Breakfast is not included but you can have it downstairs in OUIBar + KTCHN (for real) where the menu highlights Cape Town’s obsession with craft food and drink. Fresh pastries and coffees give way to crowd-pleasers like salads, burgers, pizza, serious sandwiches - served all day, and all sustainably sourced. The hotel’s rooftop has a food truck for a bar, serving good cocktails (try the artisanal G&Ts). There’s a live DJ, funky geometric shaped chairs, and red throws for chilly nights. Pool loungers line the length of the raised, red mosaic-bordered lap pool. Bottom line: worth it, and why?Absolutely—it’s the most affordable, trendy hotel room in the Waterfront. The rooftop bar and pool with wraparound views is the deal clincher, of course." - Jane Broughton

Had a great stay here! The welcome G&T was very high quality and everyone working at the hotel was so friendly and helpful. They gave us a very generous late checkout when we had a night flight. The hotel is conveniently located and Ubers took only 2 mins to arrive each time. The room was clean, had all the toiletries you need, blackout curtains that really worked-everything you need! Would definitely stay again. Thank you again to the lovely staff!

I have stayed at most of the hotels on the Waterfront and wondered why I had not tried the Radisson before. This time I did and it was an exceptional experience. Shoutout to Brandon at reception. This gent should be their on-site Public Relations Officer. Best reception experience ever and I have stayed in hotels around the world. The welcome drink was a nice touch. Location is excellent. The rooms are not huge but fun and functional, and the service makes up for what it lacks in size. I love their rooftop bar. This will be my go-to hotel for future trips to Cape Town. Check-out was busy and bit of a wait but I got there.

We had such a fabulous experience here! The entire staff was just amazing. There’s so much to do at the waterfront. The room was comfortable, and we were so impressed with the convenience and location. Above all, we felt like every member of the staff that we interacted with was just incredibly friendly and helpful.

I can’t express how amazing this hotel is. Stayed for over 3 weeks and the staff were like family. Nothing was too much and they would go out of their way with anything you needed. Food was delicious and the rooms comfortable. Great location to the Waterfront and all the wonderful trips. I will definitely be making this destination one of my favourites and I will be returning.

After a 15 hour flight, I wanted a clean and safe hotel where I didn't have to think about going out on arrival for food. This hotel checked all the boxes and we were greeted with a G&T on arrival which was much appreciated. We were 3 people to a family room and 4 people would have felt cramped. We used the lower bunk for luggage, if someone was sleeping there, I'm not sure where we would have put everything. The location is fantastic for a starting point in CT. You can walk around day and night, totally safe. Staff were all friendly. Food was good. Only complaint on the room is broken roller shades, although that's not a big deal. Gym is small but gets the job done. Recommend for a family trip/first time in the city.

Nice modern hotel at Waterfront. All rooms have table mountain view (from the side). And a nice view over the Harbour and part of WF. Check in is quick, rooms are big enough with a big window. Airco is working fine, table to sit and coffee machine. TV is not a smart one unfortunately. Bed is perfect and bathroom will fit your needs. Restaurant downstairs is excellent with breakfast and also with dinner. Rooftop bar has a nice view specially with sunset.

While here for a 3 month business stay I will say the rooms are very small, the cleanliness of the room upon arrival was not what I expected, the rooms do not have microwaves to reheat food, lastly there is a small closet with cubby area for stacking your clothes, no dresser and the table in the room seems too large for the space making the room feel smaller . The floor in my room had not been washed in months, my shower had mold and the walls had dust bunnies on them. Which prompted me to clean the room myself. On a positive note , the staff is extremely pleasant and remember you by name. After just a couple of days Miss Joyce remembered my name and greeted me every morning. The staff is extremely personable and really provides you with an outstanding experience. Due to the level of customer service I received I’m giving an overall 3.
