Lunch with a view! Locals and visitors to the area plotted around the wharf fishing, plenty of tables outside, inside and partial coverage here for some excellent fish and chips. Plenty of fresh fish options on offer, a fantastic 10/10 chowder, I had the baked Tarakihi and beer batter fries - AMAZING. The kids meal for $11 is sufficient too. Highly recommend - excellent team on deck too filleting on site, team cooking and serving. Solid location with a chill great vibe. Friendly, fast and fresh.

Nice place to enjoy classic seaside fish and chips. We ordered 2 fish burgers for $16.50 each, 1 scoop of Beer Battered Chips for $6.30, 1 scoop of Regular Chips for $5.30 and 2 pieces of gurnard for $10.50 each. This is quite an expensive place for fish and chips however considering the rising price of Fish and Chips these days it’s nice to get a quality product for the price paid. Good atmosphere, friendly staff, could do with more seating considering the size of the area.

We had a really lovely lunch here on a day trip to Raglan. We had two hot dogs (these are actually proper pork sausages rather than frankfurters, dipped in batter, which we were pleased about as that's what we prefer anyway) and a portion of chips to share. Our food came out within about 10 minutes and everything tasted hot and fresh. The battered sausages were absolutely delicious and we really enjoyed our chips- they had a nice flavour and were seasoned well. Our bill came to $17 which we thought was really reasonable given the portion size and flavour. Would recommend!

Yup, a trip to Ragg’s is incomplete if you don’t do fish and chips on the wharf. Beer battered chip 1/2 scoop for $5 is the same portion size as a full one in town Fall apart, still taste the sea salt snapper crumbed or battered … sigh, heaven sent - fish and chips should be illegal to sell if it isn’t to this standard in Aotearoa 😎 Beautiful way to finish a winter morning sojourn 😍🤩

I’m a pretty easy going person but honestly the food we had here today was just bad! Expired tartar sauce the two staff were so overworked we wanted to ask for the lemons we really wanted but it was just pure chaos. Both the fish and chips were super disappointing- won’t be going back

Delicious fish and chips, loads of fresh fish to choose from, very nice view.

Went with high expectations but was disappointed. The chips were cooked in old oil and could only stomach a couple. The snapper was on the small side. I asked for grilled (twice) and received steamed. Bin job. Third world cooking, first world prices.

So disappointed. Spent $100 on 4 adult lemon fish meals. This was the worst fish we have ever had. The fish had a strange not fish taste. It was watery and mushy. Not even a hint of a fillet, just mush. The chips were ok but the fish sadly majority of it went in the bin. Would not recommend and certainly wouldn’t eat there again.

Yelp
Came here for some simple fish and chips and a quick dinner. Space by the water is nice, and protected even when it's blowing a gale. Fish was fresh and the grilled option was very nice with the lemon. However the chips were kind of limp, and the tomato sauce on offer wasn't that good (and you have to pay extra to get sauce). Overall, decent but not a destination in itself.

Yelp
Super fresh fish and chips. A basic menu, but you know it's really fresh when the Fishmonger is preparing the fish at the counter, and there is a fisherman tending the lines right up front on the dock. The snapper was tender and nicely complemented by the fresh lemon wedge and the Kumara fries ($12NZ). There is a one dollar up charge for the Kumara fries, compared to the regular chips, but totally worth it. Two types of sauce are available, tartar sauce and a tomato based sauce (Ie ketchup). It was nice to sit on the patio and see the harbour area, including watching the sea gulls and a seal splash in the waves.

Yelp
Great place to eat fish and chips. Bring your own condiments minus malt vinegar. The tartar sauce was missing something, that was $1. The tomato sauce was not ketchup, that was a $1. They had two specials on th board dory and red cod, $11 for two pieces of fish and regular chips. It was a tempura like batter, it was light. Mine came with extra fried bits from prior orders. The chips were fresh cut from what I could tell. Unsalted, so add your own. The red cod was great. It was moist and flakey. The batter was falling off in places. But it was hot and fresh. The price was awesome. We were happy to find a more than reasonable priced meal, and it was good. There was staff behind the counter on the right filleting fish.

Yelp
Have eaten here a few times but this time it was the worst. Fish was dry and so thin that the crumbed part was pretty much 90% of the meal and it was certainly not made to order. The chips were way to salty - so much so we could not eat them. It is boxing day and they were crowded but they should bring on more people to make sure the quality remains high. Very disappointing.
