I went to Ragusa Es Italia with a friend who wanted to try this legendary ice cream spot he found online. We decided to go for their famous spaghetti ice cream. To be honest, we both felt it tasted like regular ice cream—good, but nothing extraordinary—and a bit on the pricey side. My friend even said the ice cream in his home country is better, and honestly, I can name a few places in Jakarta that serve better ice cream too.
But here’s the thing: coming to Ragusa isn’t just about the ice cream itself. It’s about the history. This shop has been around for more than 50 years and is still standing strong, carrying stories from generation to generation. That’s what makes it special (only this) xixi.
So while the ice cream might not be the best in town, the experience of sitting in such a classic place and soaking in its old-school charm was definitely worth it. Still a good visit overall, especially if you’re curious about Jakarta’s culinary history.
cheers.
