Review of Railay Phutawan Resort Railay Phutawan Resort is one of the most beautiful places to stay in Railay, perfectly located near Diamond Cave and offering stunning views over Railay Beach. The infinity pool is a real highlight, and the pool bar serves great drinks. The staff are genuinely fantastic and make the stay even better. The food is delicious, and the breakfast buffet has plenty of options. The only downside is that breakfast can get chaotic during peak hours, and finding a free table can be difficult. Apart from that, everything was wonderful. We stayed in a room overlooking the resort, surrounded by dramatic cliffs – a truly magical setting. The island’s diverse wildlife is literally right outside your terrace door. It can get a bit noisy when neighbours try to lock their doors, but a simple tip would help everyone: press the button on the inside of the door handle to enable slam-locking — and remember to keep your key with you 😉 Overall, Railay Phutawan Resort is a stunning place to stay, with great facilities, lovely food, and exceptional staff. We would happily return.

The stay was awesome! The hotel is very beautiful, quiet and has an insane view by the pool. Great to just chill at the pool and watch the monkeys by the mountains. It’s a less than 10-minute walk to the restaurants and bars, but they provide a tuktuk that leaves you right next to it. Shout out to Myo who took us up and down many times, always very kind, sweet and polite. The staff in general is very kind and atencious. And the breakfast is very good, the egg station has Egg Benedict (pleasant surprise) and a lot of different options in the buffet. I would totally reccomend the stay!

Not sure why this hotel is rated 2 stars - it was definitely at least a 4 star experience and is now one of my favorite hotels I've ever stayed in. It is the most elevated hotel in the Railay beach area and was the only hotel I saw with an hourly tuk tuk service from the beach to the hotel grounds (the walk is only about 15 mins but on an incline). We had a private villa which was very clean and the staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. The food/drinks at the breakfast buffet and the pool restaurant were randomly some of the best I've had in Thailand - extremely fresh and flavorful. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. 100/10 experience and will definitely be back!

We originally booked this resort for just 2 nights, but we loved it so much that we extended our stay for another day. That really says it all! The atmosphere is incredibly peaceful and tucked away from the noise, which was exactly what we needed. Beyond the views, the hospitality was a highlight. The staff were genuinely warm and helpful, making everything easy for us. We also ended up eating at the resort more than we planned because the food was amazing—honestly some of the best we had in Railay. If you’re debating where to stay, just book here. You won't regret it.

This is a fabulous hotel! Great staff, yummy brekky and a fantastic pool bar area (the cocktails were awesome). Its close enough to the action of railay beach but far enough from it to feel like you're in your own little private paradise. The tuk tuk shuttle was very convenient and runs regularly. Be careful of the cheeky monkeys!! They send in cute decoy monkeys, then sneak up and grab anything that could have food in it. They aren't aggressive but they are wild animals, so it pays to be attentive! But don't let that deter you from staying at this hotel...we would definitely return to Phutawan Railay!!

We had the most amazing stay! The views were absolutely breathtaking, and all the staff, especially Nam, were so friendly and always willing to help with anything we needed. The food was delicious, and the cocktails were fantastic too! Our room was the perfect mix of modern comfort and authentic Thai style, and housekeeping even surprised us with a beautiful display for our anniversary, which was such a thoughtful touch. There’s a shuttle that takes you down to the pier and nearby restaurants, but we really enjoyed the leisurely walk instead. Every restaurant we tried was excellent, and the bars were so much fun! There are also two nearby beaches with stunning views — perfect for relaxing or taking photos. Nam also gave us a little seashell keyring at check out as a keepsake to remember our stay! We already can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a beautiful, relaxing getaway!

Had an lovely 5 nights stay here mid-October. This is a beautiful hotel in great location. We loved being surrounded by jungle and spotting monkeys in the trees. It takes about 10 minutes to reach the walking street on foot. They offer hourly tuktuk drop off but the resort area is generally hilly which is something to consider if you have mobility difficulties. Our room was comfortable and spacious, and we slept great in the bed. The staff were overall very helpful and attentive. Now for the one thing that bothered us a little. I think this hotel has recently expanded and might actually be getting too big for its’ own good. Despite being here in the off season the hotel area often felt crowded. At times it was difficult to find a sun bed by the pool and the breakfast area was chaotic almost daily. Some days we had to stand around a good 10-15 minutes waiting for a table to become available. The egg station also seemed disorganized and one day we never got our order at all. There were also quite a few families with kids which inevitably contributes to a less relaxed feel. Overall I would recommend this place but it’s not entirely the romantic, relaxed and somewhat upscale place it advertises itself as, but rather feels more like a family resort.

We stayed in the garden rooms that are wonderful. Service and staff very good. The pool area is lots of fun. A great place to sit and relax enjoy a good book plus drink. The resort is a few minutes from the beach with a shuttle option. We found the distance an advantage as the resort is a bit isolated. And above all it has the most amazing view! Highly recommended for grownups. Less for small children or toddlers.
