Rain Dog Bar

Google
Raindog is consistently listed as one of Canada’s top bars for a reason. It’s very cool, very chill, very accepting and very very good. If you are looking for a “Beer Hall” vibe- it’s the opposite of that. It’s like a wine bar, but for beer lovers. Menu is a basically a 90’s zeen, everyone knows their stuff and is happy to nerd out a bit with you, if you want to. Their food menu is low key baller so order everything and share it. Good for a date, a solo hang with a book or an evening with a few people you actually know and like. …There are also many lamps in there and B-side cool music in the background.

What a wonderful bar to stumble upon. It's a great concept. An elevated bar offering mostly beers and small bites (still enough options for non beer drinkers). The focus is to highlight high quality beers in a more elevated atmosphere. It did just that. Tried a Trappist beer and was impressed. We also got the pickle plate, filled with pickled veggies. They were good. But what really shines is the knowledge of the staff and the attentiveness.

Not the easiest place to find; just a plain door with a picture of a dog. Made it feel like a Speakeasy! We didn't have reservations but it was early and the waiter got us into a nice spot by the window. A bit tight but great view out to the street. Cool decor, food was amazing, beer selection's a bit overwhelming. So many labels we'd never heard of so it was hard to make any knowledgeable decision. My first choice was not to my liking at all, but what do you do? Dessert was amazing! Food delivery was very slow, but that can be a good thing sometimes. The acoustics are quite bright so it is very loud and you have to yell at the person across the table to be heard. A few well-placed acoustic panels in more fabric would do wonders. We will be back though.

This is such a gem for craft beer lovers. Awesome vibe for friends to catch up or for a date night. Unique spot and excellent service. They leave the cans at the table after they pour so you can appreciate what you're drinking. We did a build your own charcuterie for the table which was a hit too.

Amazing experience here, our server Jane was so attentive and made some great food and drink recommendations for us. I haven't received service like that in a while. She made our experience great, and we will definitely be coming back!! Plus, the food is amazing.

This is mine and my man’s favourite spot. It’s a super unique and well executed concept and the food, drinks, vibe and service are unbeatable. My High River boyfriend loves the beef tartare!! Bil and the servers (special shoutout to Maddy) really know their stuff and provide an unforgettable experience every time. This is a must visit in Calgary!

Our first visit was a pleasant success! This cozy spot overlooks 9th Ave in Inglewood. The rustic yet trendy atmosphere feels like grandmas home with amazing food. We enjoyed the charcuterie, beef tartare and curry wurst. All were simple yet elegant and delicious. The staff were all helpful, knowledgeable and joyful. All this earned a do over visit! See you next time.

Shockingly poor and unprofessional behaviour from our server (possibly the owner?). From what I could gather, he felt that a group of 10 was too large for his “style” of restaurant and was so rude that we ended up leaving. This was the first time in my life I’ve ever left a 0% tip. I don’t take it personally — I can only assume he was dealing with some personal issues. Still, I will never return, and I wouldn’t recommend Rain Dog Bar to anyone. I’ve had dinner there before, and other servers were fine and the food was decent — but it’s just not worth the gamble. There are too many other great local spots nearby that deserve our support.

Yelp
This place is a nice hidden gem. They took over the Without Papers restaurant, and the food selection was quite yummy. I thought the potato rosti was delicious, and the other dishes we ordered were good too. The prices are on the high side for a pub, but I guess you could call it an upscale pub. It's a place I would recommend going if you are in the area.
