Virgin Islands National Park Travel Guide

"One of only two dining options located inside the national park, this beachside café provides open-air breakfast and dinner service at Cinnamon Bay and operates a grab-and-go food truck for quick bite options near the water. Its onsite presence makes it a convenient choice for campers and beachgoers staying within the park." - Evie Carrick Evie Carrick Evie Carrick is a writer and editor who’s lived in five countries and visited well over 50. Came to eat for the international buffet on Friday evening; 2,100 baht before tax per person. Despite the seemingly intimidating price, I can confidently say it was 100% worth it and perhaps changed my worldview on buffets. Food: 48/50, very great food. Very wide range of food, that are all high quality options. Some include lamb, king crab, foie gras, scallops, sushi/sashimi, oysters, and so much more. Taste wise is good too. My favorite was definitely the scallops - I took 3. Service: 19/20. Very great staff, a lot of people, even the new trainee was really good. Atmosphere: 19/20. The only criticism is that it isn’t a rain tree theme, but other than that it’s great. Very clean, luxury looking, and the temperature is livable. Value: 9.2/10. If you can get your money’s worth, the value is great. Total 95.2/100 (Top 1%) The bottom line: Easily one of the best places I’ve ever eaten at, 2nd highest score I believe out of the hundreds of restaurants I reviewed. Would recommend 100%, don’t be scared when seeing the price. Also theres a 10% discount for hotel members i think

Disappointing Experience – Not Worth the Price Compared to other 5-star hotel buffets like Goji or Orchid Café, this buffet falls short in many areas. The variety was underwhelming, with nearly half the spread focused on Middle Eastern, Arabic, Indian, and Mexican dishes—making it feel far from a true international buffet. Beef cuts were of poor quality Tempura was soggy and lacked flavour Seafood on ice was small and unappealing Only 2 types of oysters were offered (Goji offers at least five) The restaurant appeared understaffed, affecting the overall service Overall, a huge disappointment. If you’re looking for a premium buffet experience, I recommend spending your money elsewhere.

My family and I went there for the international lunch buffet. While other places may offer a wider variety of dishes, this one stands out for its quality. As someone with a sweet tooth, the dessert selection was my favorite—every cake and chocolate treat was amazing! The service was excellent as well.

🍽️ Relaxing Dinner Buffet with Quality Touches at The Athenee Hotel I visited Rain Tree Café at The Athenee Hotel, Bangkok for dinner during a long holiday. While it wasn’t their highlight event like the Sunday brunch, the experience was still enjoyable. The restaurant has a well-organized layout with a sense of privacy in each section. The atmosphere was calm and pleasant, with a nice view through the large windows. The buffet offers various zones — Chinese, Japanese, Indian, Arabic, and Thai. While the selection in each zone isn’t huge, it covers the essentials well. The highlight for me was the pan-seared foie gras and pan-seared Hokkaido scallops, which were a very pleasant surprise and made the meal feel extra special. Grilled items like lamb rack, beef tenderloin, tiger prawns, and salmon were also nicely done. I paired the beef tenderloin with the foie gras — absolutely delicious. The dessert section was not overly extensive but had the basics covered: seasonal fruits, cakes, chocolates, ice cream, and some Thai sweets. Note: Drinks are not included in the buffet price. A bottle of water and a pot of hot tea at the end cost about THB 95. There are also drink packages available: • Soft Drink Package: THB 200/person • Beer Package: THB 600/person • Wine Package: THB 1,200/person — which I think is great value as it includes sparkling wine, white wine, red wine, beer, and soft drinks. Overall, it was a satisfying dinner with good quality highlights and a relaxing setting. I’d love to return, maybe next time for the famous Sunday brunch.

The Rain Tree Café offers a pleasant atmosphere, perfect for dinner. I recently enjoyed their dinner buffet and was impressed by the overall experience. The buffet lines were well-organized and thoughtfully presented, with themed sections that added a touch of sophistication. If you're looking for a refined buffet experience in a beautiful setting, the Rain Tree Café is a good choice.

Huge breakfast buffet where you can choose between thai, indian, chinese, korean, Western, italian, french, vegetarian dishes. Good choice of pastries, egg stations, carving, soups, cold cuts, fruit, vegetables, organic products and so on. Coffe could be better, was terrible. Pricy but nice.

Beautiful restaurant at the Athenee hotel. Everything was delicious. We had the dinner time buffet. Plenty of cooked food from Thai to Indian and Mexican as well as fresh seafood, beef and lamb. Also a good amount of vegetarian options available. The staff are very friendly and attentive and the service was quick. Recommended to reserve a table in advance. Highly enjoyable experience.

Sunday dinner 1.5k thb via Hungryhub Not a lot of people on Sunday. The food seems not really a lot of choices. Seafood is good quality. 2 kinds of oyster. No fishy smell. Foie gras quite too soft but ok. Scallop ok. Meat station is good. Well cooked.
