How to Have a More Thoughtful Visit to Hawaii, According to Hawaiian Natives

"A popular waterfall attraction where visitor pressure has become evident: tourists have been observed hopping over rope barriers and climbing trees for photos despite clear signs asking people to stay out of the branches, underscoring challenges in protecting fragile natural sites." - Devorah Lev-Tov Devorah Lev-Tov Devorah Lev-Tov has been a travel, food, and drinks journalist for more than a decade, with bylines in publications like The New York Times, Vogue, and Bon Appétit, in addition to Travel + Leisure. Very nice and clean! It’s good for all kids and family spending time together during summer break. Here is the cleanest pool I have ever been! It’s not too big not too small. It’s not too crowded as well. There are so many parts for all ages. - area babies and small kids - 4 🛝 2 with tubes, 2 without tubes - jumping board with 12” deep - whirlpool - lazy river - diving board We were here on Monday. It’s not too crowded. All the slides is only less than 5 minutes wait. We spent 4-5 hours here. There is a cafe for food, beverages and ice cream. Or, you can bring your own food and drinks. Another good thing is restrooms are so clean as well. Highly recommend! 🎉

Other than a staff member sitting on top of the kitchen countertop with HER dirty shoes on while her colleagues serving our food, everything was great. Lifeguards have a tough job, they are very professional and attentive. Place is clean (other than the kitchen I assume)

The place is okay if their is one review to listen it’s this one the food is expensive 5 dollars for an ice cream and waiting for anything is really long it’s not very higenic and in the locker rooms it’s very dirty the lifeguard are not trained properly and I’ve seen kids drown and the lifeguards did nothing I would come back but it’s a big to crowded waiting for comming in is like the hunger games and there is never parking

The lifeguards are doing a good job, no complaints there. But the cleanliness is terrible. There’s a strong urine smell everywhere. It seems that 2–3-year-old kids are not wearing diapers and are peeing all over the place. I won’t even mention the restroom — it’s just awful.

We had a really fun day at Rainbow Falls Waterpark! The park is clean, well-organized, and has a great mix of activities for kids of all ages. My little ones especially loved the play structures and splash areas. That said, I do wish the water in the children’s area was a bit warmer—it felt pretty chilly for the little ones. Also, the stairs leading up to the slides could have been cleaner; they were a bit slippery and could use more attention during busy hours. Overall, it’s a wonderful local waterpark that’s perfect for families, and we’ll be back again soon. Just a couple of small improvements would easily make this a 5-star spot!

If I could rate it at zero stars, it would be great. 1. I've visited other water parks in other cities, and admission is accessible to non-residents; there, admission is ridiculously expensive. 2. Upon entering, there was nowhere to sit; everything was too crowded, even the grassy areas. 3. The bathrooms were dirty, even the shower. 4. The food was very expensive. 5. The lifeguard wouldn't let my son ride the net game where you have to jump on green floats. First, because he had the float, so I took it away. And then because he doesn't know how to swim. I told him, "I'll be careful if he falls off the green floating leaves," and he told me again, "No." I think it was racist because he saw I didn't speak English. We hope they change the lifeguard. My son did the line again and there was no problem. My son was happy to be able to ride. This attitude taken by the lifeguard is absurd. 6. Not to mention the long line we had to wait in for the lazy river. No one wanted to let go of their floats, and we had to wait over half an hour, and the lifeguards did nothing to improve the situation. In short, it's chaos. There's no control over the park's capacity. It's not worth the price.

I think it's a great waterpark - brought 5 kids on my own and felt it was manageable and safe. There's a little kids play area, a zero depth pool with diving board/chute slide/lily pads, another play area with a dump bucket, water slides & lazy river. Free under 2 YO. What I learned: *Get there before it starts or be prepared to stand in line (no shade) *Parking is a limited and the main lot is a pretty decent walk; dropped my kids and had them wait in line while I parked *You can bring in all your own food and a cooler - snack shop is good but gets expensive (hot dog, pizza, mozzarella sticks, fries, snacks, water) *Bring your water plus MORE waters - everything sold/water fountains were all warm *People set up LEGIT PARTIES: like tents, blankets, umbrellas, sandwich trays, full pizzas, chairs. I wish I would have brought some of these items to 'claim my area': like a folding chair or 2 + blanket + shade umbrella - there is VERY LITTLE SHADE *Bring a wagon to carry all of the items listed above from the parking lot to the park
