My gf and I stayed here back in July for 3 or 4 days and it was absolutely amazing. From the food to the staff and the beautiful views we woke up to each morning. Lena did an amazing job as our server keeping up with everything we were asking for as well as the other guest and being very polite. When we sat at the bar, Steve was just awesome. Keeping us entertained and always engaging with us and making amazing cocktails. As for the rooms being able to hear the river at night and seeing the beautiful scenery of the back porch made us not want to leave. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were quite nice as well. I also liked being able to fish at their stocked pond. We split our trip at 2 separate lodges and wish we would have just stayed here for the duration of our trip. Hope to be back soon and explore more.

Absolutely loved our stay here! The charming, cabin-chic rooms had really cozy heating from the floor, a wood-burning fireplace, and a porch with two Adirondack chairs. The beds were super comfy and we slept so well. A welcoming lounge area had a very well stocked bar and really nice and upbeat bartenders. The woman at the front desk was really hospitable and gave us lots of great recommendations. She made sure we were comfortable by the fire with hot drinks while we waited just a few minutes to check in. In the morning, we enjoyed Keurig coffee from the room and some quiet time taking in the river. Breakfast was delicious and carefully looked after by the kind chef. After breakfast, we wandered the grounds and enjoyed the surrounding beauty. I'd recommend this place to anyone! We'll be back!

We stayed 5 nights here for our snowboarding trip. It's about 20 mins from Big Sky Resort but we rented a car and the drive wasn't too bad (just watch out for elk crossing!). Parking was easy! Room- cozy/cabin feel! Very clean. We got a pondside room which came with a large getting ready area, tub and shower. The room was a bit of an odd set up though. There was no table or chair. Just the bed, fridge and nightstand. A few things were broken in the room but the staff was very helpful to try to fix them. However, they were unable to get the fireplace going and the blinds definitely need to be replaced at this point. Housekeeping came often which we appreciated. Food- we were blown away! The food is insanely good. The breakfast is free and its absolutely amazing. Great wine selection for dinner and we loved the housemade bread. Some food items happened to be from the local area which I loved. Service- everyone who works there is very kind and willing to help/go above and beyond. It was a shame that we didnt get to use the fire place since no one could get it burning for more than a few minutes, but staff is playing multiple roles since it seems to be run by only a few people. They are doing their best to be accommodating.

This is a rustic AND luxury Montana lodge experience. They have actual wood burning fireplaces in the lodge and rooms. The fishing pod was an awesome delight - our oldest child caught her first ever fish! The Wild Caddis Restaurant in the lodge has a true chef-developed menu, (and it’s easy to drop in to eat even if you’re not staying there.) A mountain river runs through the back edge of the property. For family gatherings, getaways, Big Sky skiing & hiking, and destinations weddings, this place is a high end gold Montana experience!

We were there for our son’s wedding in July. Was absolutely beautiful and everyone was so nice and helpful. The only problem we had was we were overcharged due to room charge discount changes and it took several emails before it got fixed. They were not good about communication and when we finally got our refund to credit card did not even receive or haven’t yet at least an email back saying sorry or it’s fixed or anything. I would definitely recommend this place though as is beautiful!

Google
I would give them 10 stars if I could. Our riverfront room was amazing! The location was great, just outside of Big Sky. The staff was friendly and we loved our complimentary breakfast every morning.

Easy to get to. Very very friendly front desk personnel. Beautiful room. Amazing in the Winter, would come back for Summer

If I could give this place more stars, I would! Rainbow Lodge is an amazing property! My husband and I stayed for 5 nights and the accommodations were fantastic. The property is located near a highway, but has the feel of seclusion of the country side. Although there were other guests, you feel as if you have the place to yourself .The views are absolutely breathtaking. The room was cozy and warm, a very nice soaking tub and fireplace that eased any worries away. The hot tub is wonderful and has a beautiful view. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. The complementary breakfast cannot be beat! Hands down, we were served the best breakfast here during our stay. 10/10 recommend. We will stay here for future trips.

Yelp
We recently had our daughters May wedding at rainbow in what is described as shoulder season, it was gorgeous! The newly renovated rooms are beautiful and accommodating. If you don't have what you need ask. The breakfast in the morning is a great way to start the day with an amazing view. Our guests enjoyed their weekend, sipping cocktails fireside, soaking in the hot tub, and catching up together in the many beautiful areas on the property. Very happy about our food choices and those that ate dinner on site loved their meals. The wedding was everything we could have hoped for and would do it all over again!

Marje B.

Yelp
Several days of checking in, I received an email about renovations happening in the lodge and that the hot tub wont be available and roof was being repaired. We were offered a 20% discount and or be moved to a different accommodations in town. We decided to still stay as we were only here for 1 night on our way back home. I really wanted to be outside the town, surrounded by mountains and nature. We arrived a little early. Our room was not ready yet. We explored the beautiful grounds. Sat on rocking chairs near the river. So relaxing. The lady at front personally got us and shown us our room. We obviously got a major upgrade. It was spacious, beautifully decorated cabin, and the bathroom was divine. Who cares about the hot tub, Im taking a hot bath in our own tub. It has its own wood fireplace. Breakfast was included, it was fantastic. Buffet style, Included pork loin and gravy, eggs, grits, fresh fruit, juice, cold cereal, yogurt, and bread. The renovation didn't bother our stay at all. Overall, it was a nice stop on our way back north.

Yelp
This place is a dump Promote themselves as a luxury lodging place. Joke. Our room was filthy. No hot water. Noisy. No air conditioning. We left after one night. Good views but the basics are missing. We moved on.

Guy O.

Yelp
We were the only guests in early December and had a great stay. The staff was very attentive - Jarod, Britney, and Tabitha in particular, took great care of us. (I will say the breakfast sucked.)

April F.

Yelp
I booked this place for my honeymoon and we spent two days here. I was a little hesitant to stay here after reading some of the reviews, but I'm so glad we did. We stayed in the Pondside Luxury Suite and it was genuinely lovely. It was warm, cozy and clean. Breakfast is provided and had different assortments of breads, eggs, bacon, etc. Reviews here mention a lack of cleaning in the rooms, but I didn't notice any of that. We'll definitely be back!

James R.

Yelp
I am so done with this place. I gave them some slack last time I was here because, well, Covid, but that was in October. Still the same incompetent teenagers working here, the bartender Darla, who I thought must be new last time I was here because of the slowness etc, was here again, and so hammered she could barely make a vodka soda and she was using the drink glasses to scoop the ice(very dangerous and a big no no). I wanted to jump behind the bar and help... The hot tub is broken, which is really the only amenity here, and our room is filthy. I know this seems horrible, but I am extremely disappointed.

Monique D.

Yelp
We stayed for 5 days during shoulder season when many things close down. (Last day was October 23rd). The location is semi remote but could not be more beautiful. There is not one spot in either direction for one hour where you stand and don't have a view. The community and even people just visiting are so warm and kind! The room is as pictured except for the bathroom. Our tub really needed to be refinished and for the $150 and 10+ years it lasts I would recommend to the owner. The patio and river view is beyond to die for and even prettier in pictures. They deliver fresh firewood to your porch every day and provide extra out front. The entire staff multitasks like I've never seen and every single one is beyond warm, helpful, and kind. Breakfast was amazing with 2 options a day most of the time. The mountain breakfast had potatoes, eggs and bacon. There was also a sausage gravy and biscuits that was to die for. Third option was beef tip hash with over easy eggs. We tried the dinner and while I must admit the menu and ingredients were bold and sounded great on paper, the execution was not there. The service and the dining area was great. You are one hour in one direction from Bozeman and one hour in other direction of the west entrance to Yellowstone. You HAVE to rent a car when here! Only other suggestion for the owner is to have housekeeping do more than make the beds and leave fresh towels. Our bathroom was never cleaned and we only got coffee restocked once in 5 days. We went to front desk to ask for more and they had no Problems providing. The views, the people, the culture made it all worth it.

Kosmo Z.

Yelp
I thought the place was beautiful, but the many things that lacked in the room made the experience a bit incomplete. I stayed in the pondside luxury room while there was a good amount of towels. I wish they had supplied more water in the room and replenished the bar. They didn't organize my belongings in the bathroom, it feels like they just made my bed and tidied up towels. There is a portable heater in the room and just a ceiling fan, so this might be difficult for some during warmer or colder days. You have to open your door with an actual key which is something I'm not accustomed to. Front desk was okay friendly and even suggested that I move my car to a closer lot that's next to my room. I am not from Montana, so I'm not used to the not so updated room and there's no signal up here. You'll have to rely on their slow WiFi in order to make contact with the outside world.

Chris M.

Yelp
I wanted to be able to give five stars to this place, as it is pretty to look at, and located fairly near the near Big Sky ski resort. However, the problem is with the lack of housekeeping and the fact that I have gotten no response when reaching out to management, both telephonically and via email. Our trash cans were never emptied, coffee refills not left, a stack of towels was put on our bed on only one day, and there was never any shampoo, conditioner,or body wash in the shower dispensers even though I called every day. From the day of check in, there was a granola bar scattered all over the floor around my bed and I called on a daily basis to have it vacuumed up to no avail. We paid more than we normally do to stay at a nice place on our ski trip and have never had such poor service even in cheap hotels. On a positive note, Breakfast was included with our stay and it was amazing!

Ellen O.

Yelp
What an incredibly disappointing stay at Rainbow Ranch Lodge. The setting is beautiful, but our first assigned room was basically in a construction zone. They relocated us to a river view with one queen bed. That would have been great if the bathroom light didn't flicker all night or the single Adirondack chair had both arms attached or the screen in the window was attached or the hot tub was working. So many problems in one small hotel.

Elizabeth D.

Yelp
My husband and I were doing a Western US road trip and we stopped in Big Sky for a little hiking and skiing. I did some research on hotels in the area and we decided to stay here to take advantage of some privacy and charming accommodations. We had a really positive experience; the staff were kind and helpful, the room was clean and cozy, and the grounds themselves were really lovely. Breakfast in the morning was homemade and delicious, the chef came up to serve us and check in about how we were enjoying things. Would definitely recommend this place to couples!

Madeline W.

Yelp
What a disappointment a beautiful lodge right on the river. Where to begin, checked into a room and 30 minutes later after we were settled in got a call we had to change rooms, then go to the new room the sprinklers were on and couldn't even sit on the porch because the chairs were soaking wet, next we woke up the next morning to brew coffee and the Keurig machine had moldy water in it, next we went to the hot tub and there was broken glass on the ground, showers were not stocked with shampoo, conditioner or body soap and finally we are here for my moms 60th birthday and no dessert or anything. Would not recommend this place.

Leonardo F.

Yelp
Amazing restaurant. Had my birthday there and absolutely loved it! Must go if you're in Big Sky.

Mary Bain S.

Yelp
Absolutely beautiful lodge with an amazing restaurant, a lovely little getaway spot thats peaceful and serene. The river view room is worth the extra few bucks and remember to check out the hot tub. The restaurant had few selection but was delicious and unique! The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I definitely recommend to stay here!

Kyndell H.

Yelp
I have to say I was pretty disappointed in the whole experience. While the hot tub was beautiful and the restaurant was very nice, the remainder of the experience left a lot to be desired. When we arrived after 3pm, the rooms were not ready. This was not a big deal as the front desk staff stated our drinks would be comped but the drinks were not comped costing us $40. Additionally, the fact that our rooms were not ready seemed odd as the resort was completely empty. When I lit the fire in my room, the chimney could not handle the smoke and some persistently filtered into the room. At first I thought I made a mistake and forgot to open the flue, but I checked and it was all the way open (to the right). I then realized the bottom of the mantle and the area above the fireplace doors were covered in soot from previous fires, indicating that this was not a new issue. My next thought after opening the door to evacuate the extra smoke, was about the smoke alarm. Well, it was disconnected and hidden in the closet. I was happy I didn't set it off, but appalled by the disregard for guest safety. This also highlighted that your staff was aware of the fireplace issue. Now, I was hoping to discuss these issues with the staff the next morning, after breakfast, at checkout; however, we waited until 8:20 but the lodge was still locked. Since we are here to ski, we planned to eat breakfast at 8am (when we were told breakfast started) and make it to the mountain for first lift at 9. We ended up leaving our keys with one of a staff employee who was also waiting outside. Instead of providing an explanation, or offering a discount we were just told "I am sorry". There comes a time when sorry does not cut it. We ended up having to buy breakfast elsewhere costing $30. All around, at the price point of your hotel, these issues are unacceptable. This is compounded by the missing amenities, such as breakfast or the free in room cookies. Having stayed at over 500 nights in a hotel during my adult life these errors are just disappointing and once again unacceptable for a lodge which is advertised as "luxury".

Rob M.

Yelp
Very comfortable accommodation in a beautiful setting. We stayed 1 night in a luxury 2 bedroom suit, then moved to a River View room. The 2 bedroom unit had a TV in both rooms, with a shared bathroom. The Riverview room had a queen sized bed and a pull out couch as well as a nice patio to sit out and enjoy the afternoon sun. The room also had a fireplace, and wood and kindling were stacked nearby. Breakfast was included, and was the only disappointment. It over-promised and under-delivered. Each day, we were served scrambled eggs, bacon or sausage, and hash browns on the hot side. Bagels, English muffins, and bread were available for toasting. A variety of fruit in a fruit salad were quite nice, and yogurt and granola were a nice combination. Unfortunately the bacon and sausages ran out quickly, and were never replenished. Most days the has browns were standard hard little potatoes. A couple of days, they were mixed with onions and peppers, and were great. Ketchup was not available, and we had to ask for cutlery, which seemed to have forgotten to be put out. A nice chive cream cheese was available one day, but no others. Strawberry mash was available as jam. Overall, the included breakfast was spotty, which I wasn't expecting at such a nice lodge.

Yum Y.

Yelp
Failed to honor my reservation, even after paying several thousand dollars as my down payment. Unprofessional, would not recommend doing business with this place, as I do not know if they'll deliver since they failed to honor paid reservation.

Justin W.

Yelp
We were looking for a nice bar with a fireplace vibe. We stumbled upon this place when it was snowing quite heavy in big sky. When we walked in, we noticed the bar was empty and saw that the fireplace room was open. When we sat down the bartenders looked at us kind of annoyed and when I walked over to get the menu, I was greeted with an annoyed response that they don't have any service for food and just drinks. This was fine with us since we only came for drinks but then they said oh this whole place has been reserved for a wedding and kicked us out. I get that places reserve for an event but to be that short and annoyed with us really was disappointing. I really wish they made an effort to be more accommodating instead of hastily rushing us out, I was really hoping to check out this place more but because of this incident sadly I won't be coming back.

Jacques V.

Yelp
This is the type of place that bridges the gap of rustic charm dreams and modern comforts any city dwelling travel snob typically searches out on painstaking internet research session. The grounds are beautiful, enhanced by the natural setting surrounding it. Easy to see why couples would want to do an intimate wedding here. Sit rivers edge and enjoy the serenity while looking out for wildlife. We saw a small herd of deer across the river at first light of day. We had a double queen room which separated into two areas at night which is a great bonus if you're sharing a room with someone. The staff was fantastic and attentive. Cookies in the room when you arrive and one of the better breakfast setups you'll find for a 'breakfast included' setup. Part of the draw aside from the above was the restaurant. I really wanted a good, regional meal and this didn't disappoint. I ate at a couple other restaurants in the greater region, a couple which are more well known on the tourist path south of the park and this was hands down the best meal I had. Mushroom Bruschetta, Elk and Foie Gras both blew me away. I would have stayed longer if it wasn't for being part of our road trip. Definitely a destination I'll stay at again and would want to share with others.

Lyndsey Y.

Yelp
Terrible room. I was there for a wedding and I stayed in the "golden eagle" room. I had the chance to see many other guest rooms and felt very disappointed in mine, it was poorly furnished, stained carpet and small. If you stay here it has to be in one of the remodeled rooms, which were beautiful. Food was great, except breakfast was the same thing everyday, and the coffee was cold. Bartenders were great!

Brittany W.

Yelp
For advertising as "luxurious" and charging $340 a night I would automatically assume that means air conditioning in July. Nope. There is about nothing luxurious about having to pull a fan in front of the ONLY window to cool off the room to try and sleep. I say only because there is exactly ONE window and no screen on the back door to leave open. I am utterly amazed after spending $340 for the night and $90 on dinner that I cant sleep soundly because of the heat and the loud neighbors I'm forced to listen to since the one window is open. If your looking for a luxurious retreat go elsewhere. If you want to spend $340 to play corn hole in a yard I guess this is your place.

Laura N.

Yelp
Lovely place. I was there a few years back for a rehearsal dinner then again recently for a Tuesday evening barbecue/ buffet. Great food, wine and deserts . Love that you can be casual and sit Arron's the bonfire if you'd like.

Lynn B.

Yelp
Excellent meal and ambience. Everything was fresh and beautifully presented. Service was scattered but pleasant.

Heidi V.

Yelp
This place is a hidden gem!! We've stayed here on multiple trips to Big Sky, and are consistently impressed by the property, service, and restaurant. The rooms are clean, large, and nicely done with a rustic mountain feel. Most (all?) have private decks with chairs and mountain views. The outdoor infinity hot tub is HUGE and incredibly relaxing after a day out in the cold. The complimentary breakfast is fantastic -- it's served in the lodge and includes hot eggs, sausage, fruits, yogurt, juice, coffee, etc. The lodge itself is lovely as well, with a large fireplace and a nice bar. The restaurant is a must for dinner, wonderful food and a large wine list (ask for Chad to be your server if he's there!). Highly recommended Rainbow Ranch as a base in Big Sky!

Brandon M.

Yelp
Rainbow Ranch Lodge was a highlight on our road trip adventure from Los Angeles to Bozeman, Montana. RRL is conveniently located on the main road to Yellowstone (highway 191 along the Gallatin River) and further on to Jackson, WY or Ashton, ID. This stunning 22 room upscale facility is built in a log cabin style and provides some of the most picturesque moments on any vacation. The staff was kind, gracious, and eager to make our stay one of the best stops on a 7 state road trip. For comparison, other resorts we stayed at were Sundance Mountain Resort and the Montage Deer Valley. I want to give a special thanks to Caitlin, Cameron, Gary, and Scott; and I'm missing the name of the guy who threw a unique, delicious, light an orange peel on fire twist on an Old Fashioned, but we're still talking about it. The purpose of our trip was to look at investment properties, and Scott went above and beyond to point us towards some of Big Sky's premier real estate; and a day later offered experienced travel advice for the incoming snow storm. Also to note, RRL offers an unbelievable wedding venue along the Gallatin River, and if you time it right can get pink skies, like ours, as a backdrop. Our crew encourages all travelers, investors, wedding planners, and anyone looking to stay at beautiful location to investigate the Rainbow Ranch Lodge. These pictures were all taken on the Rainbow Ranch Lodge property from Oct.7-9, 2019.

Yelp
Gorgeous place! Everything looked like on their Website. Very comfortable beds, beautiful design inside the rooms. White robes for every guests and all bathroom little things. Very clean. The breakfast were awesome: fresh fruits, hot cereal, quiche, jam, juices etc. the lodge had a hot tub. It was cold outside but it was comfortable to soak in the tub looking at the mountains. The place has a pond with trout and the river across the lawn. Their dinner menu is exquisite! The personnel were very friendly and helpful. I will definitely come back.

Dave S.

Yelp
Wonderful staff. Perfect location. Accommodations were outstanding. Very good overall experience. Would definitely return.

Rachel C.

Yelp
The view/setting is the best thing about this place, and in my opinion the only saving grace. My husband and I were able to wake up to snow and had coffee on the porch, as well as enjoyed a beautiful hike nearby. The thing is, they charge way too much for the quality of the rooms and provide mediocre customer service at best. I would not recommend it to others and I would not go back on my own.

Jeff R.

Yelp
We stayed in the Golden Eagle room and enjoyed the large balcony with views of the pond and the Gallatin River. Great comfortable beds! We didn't use the fireplace, but it adds charm to the modern room. We loved the infinity hot tub with views of the river. We enjoyed the comfy robes for our short walk from the room to the hot tub. The complimentary breakfast was fine, but we were disappointed that we arrived too late to enjoy dinner. The dinner menu looked really good. The next day, we explored Big Sky resort (10 minutes away) and went river rafting with Montana Whitewater (20 minutes away) before returning to Bozeman (45 minutes away). The lodge is in a great location and appears to have the perfect facilities to host a wedding on the river.

Samantha H.

Yelp
I just returned from the Rainbow Ranch and found the hospitality at this establishment to be off the charts. I arrived after midnight and the staff was not only awake, but cheerful and very welcoming. Molly checked me in and was happy to walk me to my room. When I arrived for breakfast at 7:30am, Molly & Bea were there there and all smiles. I began to wonder if they ever sleep. I enjoyed breakfast and the gorgeous view. The next few days was only more of the same. Upon our departure, we received a thank you note for being great guests. I will definitely be bringing my family back to enjoy this amazing Montana retreat. I highly recommend a trip to Big Sky and the Rainbow Ranch. Please say hello to Molly and Bea. They will take care if you. By far, two of the best hostesses I've ever encountered in my 37 years.

Rod Z.

Yelp
Once again, the food at Rainbow Ranch was beyond Compare. I've traveled the world eating and my top two meals have been at rainbow Ranch, Both were Bison dishes.

Jeremiah R.

Yelp
Amazing service! The staff were so accommodating and fun. The food was the best in Big Sky. Literally the best weekend I've had in years. Peaceful and cozy lodges. Can't say enough about the team at Rainbow Ranch!

Scott C.

Yelp
Food was decent. Service was good. We got talked into the tasting menu with wine pairings down in the private wine cellar. I would not recommend this. While the food was solid, the wine pourings were modest at best, and not a good value. I felt like we overpaid for what was presented.

Doug L.

Yelp
We had a wonderful getaway! Really fine dining, with Montana hospitality and wonderfully appointed guest suite. We were welcomed, served and pampered! Rainbow Ranch is a treasure.

Stephanie M.

Yelp
Absolutely love the setting, our lodge, and the staff! Everything was absolutely perfect. The staff is super friendly and highly accommodating! We had our three dogs with us. The staff was always kind and loving to them as well. I highly recommend this lodge for anyone looking for a comfortable and clean, close to nature lodge. Can't wait to come back!!!

Kathie H.

Yelp
Lovely lodge type of place. Stayed two nights and found the place great. The only sad part of the trip was their restaurant is not open on Monday and Tuesday so didn't get to try their food.

William M.

Yelp
My wife and I stayed at the lodge last week and were completely dissatisfied with the customer service that Samuel provided. We had a two bedroom reservation and our room didn't have any AC , windows and the door that we could of opened for some air didn't have a screen. The first night was miserable. The next night we ended up turning off the lights (so we didn't attract bugs by the pond below our room) and then opening the door to try and keep the room cool. All Samuel had to say was "nobody has AC in Montana"......empathy isn't his strong suit. The other room that my parents were sleeping in had a great breeze and they slept comfortably. If you plan on coming in the winter and being toasty this place would work great!

Brandon O.

Yelp
Absolutely beautiful. The food is the best I've had in Montana, brilliant steak and dessert was fabulous. The room was very inexpensive for that area and are very large and modern. The hot tub and service was just the cherry on top. Go out of your way to stay here, I can't wait to come back.

Johnny C.

Yelp
This is great place for special occasions, a bit on the expensive side but well worth the money. Service has always been friendly & top notch ! They have an extensive wine list & always prepare a perfect steak or fish entree. The fois gras & Lobster starter is insane! We have ate here for thanksgiving too & it was excellent !

T D.

Yelp
I hate to review it ... because others will find out about this lovely lodge and restaurant and it will become too popular. But to be fair, both the lodge and the restaurant are just wonderful. It is right next to the Gallatin river and it was great. The rooms are both elegant and rustic (not an easy combination), the grounds are green and beautiful & overlook a delightful stretch of the river, and the restaurant is world class. Stay here, cast a fly into the Gallatin, relax in their wonderful hot tub overlooking the meadow, and you will feel restored.

Leo L.

Yelp
Love the place. Amazing rooms. Wooden Fireplace. Exterior hot tub with a fireplace. Good food. Great price. Would defiantly recommend and stay again

Craig K.

Yelp
We hosted a wedding rehearsal dinner there at a charge of over $4000.00. The food was very good, but service was virtually nonexistent. We had arranged for guests to serve food for themselves, but there was no water on the tables, no real place settings, and certainly a lack of beverage service.

Yolanda K.

Yelp
Before we checked in, we were so excited to check out this place. Lots of pics on their website but attention! They are not 100% what u will get. 1. Front desk lady wasn't that welcome. 2. we booked Deluxe two beds room but it's overpriced. The room show on website was bright, lovely and big. Yet, reality? 346 per night for a room with NO AC, dimly light, broken fens' lock and only one set of shampoo for a family was not right. Front desk recommended us open the window but the fens were broken and my husband and son got mosquito bites. Yea, room was cool down but we didn't sleep well. 3. They've got decent dinner, lots of meat choices. But way too salty. Our server never ever come check with us and we have to ask other server to get him couple times which was embarrassing. And two entree, one appetizer, especially such slow service for $110 was not worth the price. 4. THE BIGGEST PROBLEM: wifi. Omg, wifi is not fully covered in this place and it really depends on where u stand in your room. Not gonna come again. 350 dollars and we got such service?

Carolyn S.

Yelp
Gorgeous view from our creek side room, room itself was comfortable and very nice. The groundskeeper was the highlight of this already exceptional stay; private tour of the grounds including the pond and stream with spawning trout and fishing poles for the kids! When you combine the beauty of the grounds and the stunning beauty of the natural landscape with the comfort and service provided by the lodge, I'd have to say that rainbow lodge provides an exceptional and memorable getaway. I would highly recommend this place for weddings, family reunions, romantic getaways and even relaxing family vacations with kids (although I would recommend if you are traveling with kids, you should eat at the Gallatin Riverhouse Grill down the street for dinner, the restaurant in the lodge is gorgeous but feels a little too formal for small kids).

Reza S.

Yelp
Have heard a lot of people recommending the RR. The food preparation was very good, presentation, meat temp, composition. Unfortunately our server, Jeff was very poor. Ironically he was training another server when he clearly had little to no understanding of how to be a server. I wouldn't even put him high enough to function at a chain restaurant. Did not know the menu or what the items composing the dishes were. Had members of our party that were gluten free and could have obtained the information from the chef once as opposed to running in and out of the kitchen multiple times when identifying which items were gluten free. When dealing with an order problem, the Evening special sea bass with shrimp, that came out without any shrimp because they ran out, he was very abrasive. The manager did come out and perform some damage control but the servers attitude just soured the experience especially for fine dining experience. Unfortunately I can not recommend the restaurant and will just continue going to Bucks T4.

Yelp
Let me start by saying that, like others, I couldn't have been more impressed with the Rainbow Ranch. Not only were the accommodations amazing, relaxing and luxurious - the food was also well above my expectations and something I will now be returning to eat more often. My better half and I stayed two nights and couldn't have been more pleased. She is a celiac and cannot consume gluten - even trace amounts - without falling ill. Usually this makes it somewhat difficult to find reliable, dedicated kitchens that care about avoiding cross contamination. Well the Rainbow Ranch absolutely nailed it - the food was amazing and, as promised, didn't make my girlfriend sick in any way! For breakfasts they even made special gluten-free scones - just give the kitchen a heads up when you book your reservations and they will do extra prep the night before. We will most certainly be returning. Thanks Rainbow Ranch!!

Yelp
Rainbow Ranch is on a stunning bit of river, with a lovely landscaped grounds. We went to a beautiful wedding there, and the backdrop was lovely. We rented the deluxe rooms, though, for over $300 a night, and though they were nice--log walls, a large smushy bed, tv, huge soaking tub. They were DARK, though--like really dark. My biggest gripes have to do with the amenities. The breakfast was subpar for such a steep price. They served fresh fruit and yogurt, which was nice, but the eggs were gross in a big metal tray, with cheap packaged croissants and bagels. It resembled a nicer than average Holiday Inn breakfast. The coffee was terrible and weak. On Sunday morning, when we were leaving, there was no hot water. The wifi was down the entirely of our stay -- fine except that they don't have a good arsenal of maps and hiking information. So you're a little stuck if you can't use the wifi. The hot tub is bizarrely situated next to the rooms and below the deck of the lodge so if you used it, you'd be on view for all. And it's just off a relatively big road, so there's car noise. I wouldn't stay here again unless I got a deal for $200 night, which is closer to what I think the deluxe rooms are worth.

Yelp
Staff were amazing. They were friendly and helpful. Booked reservations for us at various things. The breakfast was delicious with great scones and quiche. Also the best chocolate chip cookies I have ever had were provided in our room. And we had dinner at the ranch one night and we ordered the charcuterie plate, cheese plate, gnocchi, and salmon. The charcuterie was wonderful and the gnocchi just melted in my mouth. I have never ever had gnocchi as delicious as this. Great wine selection also. I would definitely stay here again.

Yelp
My family (three boys 2, 4,5) husband and I stayed here for a weekend in the shoulder season (October) - it was terrific! I can't wait to come back. This is not a working Dude ranch rather a 5-star style lodge. Everything at this lodge is understated and extremely comfortable and in tip-top shape - there is not a hair out of place. The staff looks after every detail no matter where you look. The décor is stylish, very Montana, but not over the top "ranchy". There is a lovely stone fireplace with big comfy, leather sofas near the bar area for relaxing, cocktails and breakfast. There is a huge porch overlooking the Gallatin River and a gigantic mountain. The outdoor gardens, trout pond, fire pit and grill area are all designed to perfection. Rainbow Ranch has the biggest tiled hot tub I've ever seen next to a gigantic stone fireplace - and it all over looks the lovely grounds, river and mountains. The staff is extremely professional and attends to every detail without being stuffy or overbearing - everyone was incredibly friendly, helpful and nice. The rooms are equally understated and charming. Our room had 2 bedrooms with cool queen sized log beds. Soft sheets and real down pillows made for good sleeping. There was a stone fireplace at the foot of the bed with a pre-made wood fire, ready to go. We also had a very nice sized porch/deck with Adirondack-style chairs for relaxing. Thick towels, Mouton&Brown toiletries and nice water pressure rounded out the accommodations. Best of all was the food. We ate dinner one night in the dining room and probably had the best fine dining meal we had all year. This could easily be the best place to eat in all of Montana. The entrees ranges from $30-38 to $47 for the specials. And it was worth it. I ordered Quail with farrow, and wilted greens. My husband had the Elk - cooked to perfection. The service was knowledgeable, friendly and really paced the meal well, especially since we had our young children with us. The home-made charcuterie platter for appetizer and home made desserts and ice creams were out of this world. The wine list was extremely well chosen and broad enough to satisfy a range of budgets. Continental breakfast was included with our room, and at first it seemed a bit modest but after sidling up to the bar, it was simply perfect. Everything was homemade: zucchini bread, almond croissants, plain croissants, pistachio filled éclairs, raisin scones, sun dried tomato and spinach quiche, quiche Lorraine, free-range hard boiled eggs, amazing from-the-oven granola, fresh yogurt and delicious fresh fruit salad. They offered 4 kinds of juices, delicious coffee and teas. I would stay again here at any time - I really loved this place, as did my children. While its not a "kids" place, we felt very comfortable here as did they. There were about 2 other rooms with small kids when we were there. Rainbow Ranch is about 20 minutes from Big Sky ski resort and about 45 miles from the west entrance to Yellowstone. If you want to hike Ousel Falls and explore Big Sky or hike to Lava Lake, this is a great basecamp. If you want to stop by here en route to Yellowstone - Bozeman, it's a terrific choice, too.
